Chapter 1052 Aggrieved Fu Li

An hour later, Shun Long had already arrived at the heart of Amber Dawn, only to be met with an astounding sight.

Outside his shop, a line of more than a hundred cultivators stretched across the street, their robes fluttering under the morning breeze of the city. Most of them were Dao Kings with calm, reserved demeanors, while the occasional Nascent Soul and Spirit realm cultivators could be seen as well. The most surprising sight, however, was the two early-stage Dao Emperors at the very front of the line, waiting patiently for the doors of the shop to open.

Despite the sheer number of people, there was still an unmistakable sense of order. No one dared to raise their voice or try to cut in line.

Shun Long guessed that part of it was probably due to the two Dao Emperors standing at the very front of the queue, while the other part was thanks to the two massive, black-armored knights standing guard at each side of the shop.

Their hollow eye sockets gleamed faintly with wisps of red ember as they overlooked the street, while their blood-soaked greatswords and the oppressive auras they emitted were more than enough to threaten anyone below the Dao Emperor realm!

Although the cultivators in line were used to the undead knights’ presence by now, none of them dared approach too close to the soulless beasts.

Shun Long’s gaze swept over the waiting crowd, lingering on the two Dao Emperors for a few seconds longer, before he nodded his head in satisfaction. If even Dao Emperors were paying his shop a visit, the situation in Amber Dawn must have been even more desperate than he’d originally estimated. Of course, he couldn’t completely rule out the idea that these people weren’t here to buy his pills, but that didn’t matter either.

With his current strength, Shun Long was more than confident in his ability to dispose of two early-stage Dao Emperors, even without Little Black’s help.

With a single thought, Shun Long spread out his soul sense, covering every single corner of the shop, and a moment later, his lips curved faintly.

"Mei’er and the others are already back, huh?"

Without another word, he raised his right hand and tore a crack into space.

The air around him rippled like the surface of a pond being disturbed, and in the next moment, his figure vanished from the streets of Amber Dawn.

When he reappeared, he was standing in the back area of the shop.

Previously, this space had been empty, without so much as a chair to rest on. But now, as he looked around him, Shun Long could only marvel at how efficient the staff from the ’White Tiger chamber of commerce’ was. In just a month, this entire place had been transformed!

A modest courtyard had already taken shape at the back of his shop, and there was even a large tree acting like a canopy that shielded the backyard from the sun and any prying eyes.

Surprisingly, 6 familiar figures were seated beneath the tree, forming a loose semi-circle, their conversations halting the moment they sensed his arrival.

"Haha, brother Shun, you are finally here!"

Bai Longtian was the first to react, his voice booming with unrestrained laughter as he rose to his feet. The tall, handsome youth’s face lit up in a grin as he looked at him.

But surprisingly, Fu Li was even faster.

The chubby youth practically jumped up from his seat, his round face flushed red as he barreled forward and let out a curse.

"Fuck me! You are finally back?!"

Shun Long couldn’t help but smile as he watched Fu Li rush across the courtyard, looking as though he’d been wronged by the heavens themselves. The fatty’s eyes gleamed with such aggrievement that it almost seemed as if Shun Long owed him a million spirit stones he’d forgotten to pay up.

"It’s already been a month, and you only come back now? What kind of brother ignores the other when he’s in trouble?"

Shun Long shook his head as he looked at the fuming Fu Li, before he waved his hand and asked calmly

"Is this about you not having enough pills to sell?"

Fu Li’s eyes widened again, as if a painful wound had just been poked with that single sentence. A moment later, he put his hands on Shun Long’s shoulders and cried out in a wronged manner

"Damn right it is! How could you leave me with such few pills?! Do you have any idea what I’ve been going through lately? I even had to close the shop for the past 4 days because we ran out of stock!"

Fu Li then gestured wildly at the door behind him and continued

"And that’s after I was forced to set a new rule that limited everyone to buying five pills each! Five! If I hadn’t done that, I would’ve been forced to shut down the shop from the very first week!"

"Alright, alright." Shun Long could see Fu Li’s face turning crimson as he said that last sentence, so he didn’t feel like messing with his friend anymore.

Besides, he had to admit that Fu Li had indeed done an excellent job managing the shop, especially with the limitations he was forced to work with.

He had already sold out everything and had even found a way to keep things going for a while, until he ran out of stock.

A moment later, Shun Long waved his hand, before hundreds of pill bottles materialized around him and Fu Li. Each bottle was filled to the brim with dozens of pills, too, and although they were all sealed, the faint fragrance of medicinal herbs still filled the air inside the courtyard.

Shaking his head, Shun Long glanced at his old friend and said seriously

"I didn’t expect the shop to be emptied so quickly. Still, you did a great job, fatty. I’m proud of you."

Fu Li blinked, then blinked again. His round eyes went wider and wider until he looked like he might faint. He didn’t even seem to have heard Shun Long’s words as he stared at the mountain of pill bottles around him. Without wasting another second, he then swept both arms out, gathering all the pill bottles in one fell swoop and putting them inside his spatial ring.

Then, he finally turned to Shun Long and asked in a tone that was a mixture of mockery and outright disbelief

"You didn’t expect the shop to be emptied out so quickly? Brother, we’ve been selling high-grade and top-grade pills this entire time! Do you have any idea how rare it is to find high-grade pills for sale? Not just here in Amber Dawn, but apparently in this entire continent, it seems you can only find them in high-end shops, and even then, only if you’re lucky!"

Fu Li lifted a finger for emphasis, his expression growing more animated by the second

"Let’s not even talk about top-grade pills! Of course we were going to sell everything! Even a monkey would be able to sell these pills for a good price!"

Turning around, Fu Li stared at the beautiful young woman who was sitting next to Liu Mei and said excitedly

"Jinjing! Come help me fill up the store! We’re opening right away!"
