Chapter 1063 Hundred Fragrance pavilion (2)
Chapter 1063 Hundred Fragrance pavilion (2)
Shun Long’s golden eyes swept over the attendants, inspecting them briefly. They were both just early rank 1 Dao Kings, but for a pair of door greeters, such a cultivation base was truly extraordinary.
After a moment of silence, he settled his gaze on the female attendant to his left and said in a low voice
"I’m just looking to buy a few rank 7 herbs. I wonder if your pavilion has any for sale."
The attendant’s eyes gleamed, but the characteristic smile didn’t fade from her face as she answered barely a heartbeat later
"But of course, senior. If you are looking to buy herbs or even pills made by our esteemed alchemists, then you’d have to visit our Night Hall. As for medicinal herbs of the 7th rank, our pavilion has more than a few."
Shun Long’s golden eyes lit up when he heard that.
"More than a few?"
The woman gave him a polite smile without answering, before turning gracefully on her heel and leading him inside. As she walked, she turned her head to the side a bit and added in
"I assume senior is not from Iron Dawn, correct?"
"That’s right. I just arrived here" Shun Long replied in a raspy voice, his golden eyes still scanning his surroundings.
He didn’t think that this Hundred Fragrance pavilion would have a Sovereign guarding down the fort, but he still chose to rein in his soul sense and just inspected everything using his eyes.
Meanwhile, the woman nodded matter-of-factly after hearing his answer, her smile widening ever so slightly.
"But of course. Ah, forgive my insolence, but every resident of Iron Dawn knows about our pavilion. If anybody is looking for medicinal herbs or even pills, it’s only our Hundred Fragrance and the Golden Furnace sect that have the biggest reserves and manpower. But unlike the Golden Furnace Sect, our pavilion is the only one open to the public."
Shun Long nodded again. He’d already heard as much about the Golden Furnace sect, and the woman’s words only confirmed what the Nascent Soul shopkeeper had told him.
The attendant continued to chatter as they walked, but most of what she said was just her praising the Hundred Fragrance pavilion as the number one alchemy-related establishment in all of Iron Dawn. Shun Long didn’t bother responding to any of that.
Instead, his gaze simply roamed across the interior.
The decorations were minimalistic, but every piece was carefully placed to project the pavilion’s wealth. Intricate murals of medicinal plants lined the walls around him, while faint incense carried a calming fragrance that subtly eased one’s spirit.
Still, amidst the endless flattery, Shun Long ended up learning a few things, too.
Apparently, Night Hall was the name of the first two floors of the pavilion where the pavilion sold pre-refined pills and even medicinal ingredients. As for the third and fourth floor, apparently, they were only reserved for the alchemists working for the pavilion and those who wanted to place an order.
As soon as they walked past the long hallway and reached the first floor, the female attendant came to a stop and gestured gracefully around her
"Senior, this is the Night Hall. The first and second floors are both dedicated to it. Everything you see here is naturally for sale, too. If you wish to make a purchase, all you have to do is call for one of the attendants around you."
Without another word, she then bowed deeply and turned around to leave
Shun Long didn’t stop her. Instead, he just let his gaze sweep across the first floor.
The place was massive. It was easily five, maybe even ten times bigger than his shop back in Amber Dawn, and was filled with hundreds of cultivators moving around, browsing through the glass windows that showed the numerous pills and medicinal herbs they had for sale.
With just a glance, Shun Long could tell that even the lowest of pills and medicinal herbs this Hundred Fragrance pavilion had for sale was at minimum, a rank 4 pill or herb, too. As for rank 5 and even rank 6 ones, they were present all around him, as well.
Granted, every pill his eyes fell on was usually a middle-grade pill, with very, very few high-grade pills. Still, the sheer quantity spoke volumes about this place. No wonder it was hailed as the number one alchemy shop in Iron Dawn.
His eyes narrowed slightly as he scanned the prices around him. A rank 5 high-grade pill was easily ten times more expensive than its middle-grade counterpart, with some of them even reaching fifteen times the original price.
Rank 6 pills were displayed with prices in the thousands of high-grade spirit stones, some of them even touching the ten-thousand mark.
And these were only the first-floor offerings.
Still, Shun Long’s expression didn’t change. He began walking around slowly, his eyes searching for rank 7 herbs.
Whether it was the absurd prices of the pavilion or the quality of its pills... none of it mattered to him.
The only thing Shun Long was worried about was whether there would be enough herbs to buy in this place. He really needed a few more high-quality herbs to enrich his garden inside the ’Stone of Time’ if he wanted to start refining star-rank pills any time soon.
And yet, even after looking around for an hour and going through the majority of the first floor, he didn’t find a single rank 7 herb for sale.
He was starting to get a bit disappointed and was about to head straight for the second floor of the ’Night Hall’... but that’s when he saw it. In the deepest ends of the first floor, surrounded by a dozen rank 9 Dao Kings and two early-stage Dao Emperors... a black ball with vivid red vines around its surface.
It was encased in a glass box covered with numerous protective formations, some of which even blocked soul sense. But they weren’t enough to stop him. Shun Long’s footsteps slowed down for what seemed to be only half a second before he headed straight for the glass counter and the rank 7 herb inside it.
