Chapter 53 - The Red Mole
Chapter 53 - The Red Mole
Halfway through, Lu Beixiao could not help but pour scorn on the Cadillac that was pleasant to the eye but of no use.
"With all the fancy looks, it's still useless. It runs slower than a motorcycle! What a waste of time and money!"
His uncle was, once again, a target of the contemptuous remark.
"Lao Wan, speed it up to the maximum!" Du Jun, who was seated in the front seat, made a loud and clear request.
The request was greeted with Lu Beixiao's derision, "How fast can it go with a weight of over three tons?"
Du Jun decided to keep quiet, this time, as he finally realized that Lu Beixiao could never be satisfied. Someday, he would impress Lu Beixiao so greatly that he would throw himself down at his feet in admiration.
"Xiao, you should give your uncle some space to breathe. Look at how friendly he is!" Ye Qiao whispers in Lu Beixiao's ears. She and Du Jun had not interacted enough for her to understand him fully, but from their short time together, she realized that he was actually a kind and adorable soul, though a little silly, sometimes. One thing for sure was that he really cared for his nephew, Lu Beixiao.
In fact, the respect was mutual. Lu Beixiao thought a lot of Du Jun, too, though he never expressed it. Otherwise, he would not have trusted him with Ye Qiao's safety.
"What did you say?" Lu Beixiao pretended not to hear a thing.
Ye Qiao was tired of his pretenses and decided to say nothing more.
The hotel was not too far from the station. It was 11.20pm by the time they arrived at the hotel, so Lu Beixiao had 40 minutes to spare. Ye Qiao did not know where the base was, but she was sure that it must be somewhere in the outskirts. However, they were still in the busiest district in the city.
As soon as they got out of the car, Lu Beixiao gave Du Jun ten minutes to get him a fast motorbike. Hastily, he went straight to Ye Qiao's hotel room to ensure that everything was fine.
"Xiao, will you be able to make it? My room is very safe, so there's nothing to worry about, really. I have Zhou to keep me company!" Both Zhou Peng and Xiao Dong were still in the hospital. Du Jun told her that Qiao Tian's injury was nothing major, mostly scratches. So, she could skip the visit tonight.
"Don't worry about me. I can make it back in half an hour!"
Then, they walked from the lift towards her room. "Room card."
Ye Qiao took the card out from her pouch and passed it to him. He opened the door and plugged the card in for access to the electricity. All the lights were turned on, and so was the air conditioner. Vigilantly, he kept his eyes peeled as he looked around to make sure there was no one else in the room.
There must always be extra precautions and vigilance for Special Forces.
"Xiao, I'll go and bring you a glass of water. Ah!" All of a sudden, he pulled her around and looked her in the eye with his cap off. She knew it. Her hotel room would no longer be secured with the presence of a pervert. It was never safe for a woman to be alone with a man in a hotel room.
"Don't move! I just want to have a look at you!" He was attracted to her so dearly, but he could not figure out why. In fact, he already fell in love with her the first time he set his eyes on her.
She took it obediently, with her gaze fixed on his finely chiseled features and his tanned skin. Surely, he would be more popular than the celebrities if his skin were a little fairer.
However, his authentic self was what she adored about him most, especially his sturdy, muscular physique. All she could think of was his heroism and the way he fought back as hard as he could against the gangsters, alone.
Her fair skin starkly contrasted the brilliant red mole on her body, which looked enchanting.
She noticed the look in his eyes and was alert. "Xiao, you're going to be late," she nervously said. "Xiao."
He was really going to be late.
He brushed his finger against the mole with a gentle stroke. Tickled by his coarse fingers, Ye Qiao looked down, only to realize that he was actually staring at the red mole on her chest.. He seemed entranced.
