Chapter 499: Veldanava
Chapter 499: Veldanava
Ethan opened his eyes seventeen days later. The space inside the cube was quiet, almost serene, but his mind was alert, focused. A glowing message appeared in front of him.
[You have reached the threshold of leveling up. Now you will have to go through a trial to break through.]
Ethan looked at it calmly. He had expected this. After all, the trial depended on the potential of the one leveling up. The higher the potential, the easier the trial. And Ethan’s potential was beyond normal comprehension.
[You have passed the trial. You can level up.]
He froze for a moment, disbelief flickering across his face. "What...?" he whispered. "I knew my potential was high, but it shouldn’t be high enough for the world to just give me a direct pass. That’s... impossible, right?"
Yumiko’s voice appeared in his mind, calm and confident as always.
[Master, you are Infinity. Elysium cannot comprehend your potential level. It has recognized your superiority, and that is why it has granted you a direct pass."
Ethan’s lips curled slightly into a confident smirk. "Is that so? Then there is no reason to wait. Let’s level up."
Boom. The energy of the space cube exploded around him. Power surged through his body, mind, and soul, expanding him in ways he could feel in every fiber of his being. It was not painful. It was pure, absolute growth, and he savored every second of it.
[You have awakened your first talent.]
[Ruler of Fate: You can rewrite the fate of someone who is even five levels above yours. This change is absolute.]
Ethan’s eyes widened slightly. He had expected power, yes, but this... this was beyond what even he had imagined. With his Infinity Strand, he could create talents and skills at will, but none had allowed him to exert authority over someone higher than his level. This was absolute control, and it felt intoxicating.
"As expected of me," he muttered. He could already imagine how this would change the game. "There is no reason to wait. Let’s continue."
[Level: 10
Evolution Points: 10,000/10 B]
The next level would take twenty days. Ethan waited patiently, understanding that growth required time even when potential was limitless.
Twenty days passed, and he leveled up to eleven. Then twelve, requiring a trillion evolution points. Each milestone added to his strength, not just physically or mentally, but in his understanding of how the Infinite world worked.
Months passed, almost half a year inside the space cube, and he reached level 19.
Fifty days remained before he would reach level twenty. Level twenty was another major threshold. Passing it meant awakening another talent, and after the absolute authority of his first ability, Ethan was eager to see what would come next.
Fifty days later, the message appeared again.
[You have reached the threshold of leveling up to twenty. You need to pass a trial.]
[You have passed the trial. You can level up now.]
Immediately, Ethan’s level rose. The rush of power hit him stronger than before, and he felt the infinite possibilities opening around him.
[You have awakened your second talent.]
[Gray Mist Production: You can produce corrupted mist capable of devouring every law of the Infiniteverse.]
Ethan swallowed hard. He felt the weight of this ability immediately. "Yumiko, this gray mist... it’s not the same as the gray mist of this world, is it?"
[You are correct, Master] Yumiko replied.
[This mist comes from true Infinity from your body. You could destroy Elysium itself if you wished. But if anyone discovers this before the right time, the consequences will be disastrous. You must hide your power until the moment is right.]
Ethan nodded slowly, absorbing the reality. This was primal destruction. His mist could devour laws, worlds, even the frameworks that held the universe together. And yet, he understood the necessity of patience. Revealing such a force too early would bring ruin, not victory.
[Level: 20
Evolution Points: 10,000/1 S]
Despite this, he continued leveling. Days inside the cube passed, but in the world outside, only minutes slipped away. The relativity of time allowed him to grow at an unmatched speed, refining his abilities and preparing for levels that would redefine everything.
Meanwhile, in an ancient domain far from Ethan, an ancient being opened his eyes. In his palm, gray mist swirled like liquid shadow. "Someone else wields the power of law destruction," he murmured with a sharp smile. "The seven heroes? Interesting. It seems my intervention is necessary."
He summoned one of his generals, which was dragon of destruction, Veldanava. "Go to the continents of the heroes and find out who awakened the power of destruction. Bring him to me. If the heroes resist, destroy them."
Veldanava nodded, vanishing into the void. The ancient being’s gaze remained on the swirling mist. "Only I can hold this authority. No one else."
Ethan continued growing. Over two years passed inside the cube, and he reached level twenty-nine. At the edge of level thirty, another threshold waited, promising another powerful talent. The scale of his power had already surpassed comprehension.
On that day, an ominous aura swept across the continent. In an ancient castle, a young boy was playing with his puppy and with a little girl. Suddenly he froze mid-motion. "Such vile presence," he muttered. "One of the twelve generals has moved. But why?"
Then he contacted someone.
"Lana, you should move here. I won’t be able to hold him off alone."
An old woman, kneading dough in her bakery, spoke with a calm precision. "I cannot leave. I feel the same aura on my continent. This is something we must observe first."
Seven supreme minds connected at that moment, sensing the presence of Veldanava in their respective continents at the same time. They made their choice. "We cannot fight him here. Our continents would be destroyed," one said.
"Then we watch him closely for now," another replied. Frustration was laced his voice, but caution ruled their decision.
In a distant forest, the founder was trying to hunt a level eighty-one monster. Suddenly, a chill ran down his spine. Danger of a cataclysmic scale approached nearby.
He disappeared immediately, without thinking for a second time.
If someone at his level felt this threat, meant something truly monstrous was coming and he didn’t want to die young.
Elsewhere, a young man walked through the forest, leaving death in his wake. Trees and grasses withered at his passing as thing gray mists were releasing from his body.
"Master told me to find who awakened the power of destruction," he thought. "I must search all seven continents, every life form, to locate who reached this threshold."
Suddenly, a figure appeared before him. "Who are you? This is Dark Alliance territory," the figure warned, trying to intimidate him.
He felt something ominous was approaching their their territory, so he came here to stop the being. But he didn’t know who he was facing.
The young man’s eyes suddenly turned gray. "Take me to your leader," he said calmly, his voice carrying absolute command.
The figure who came to stop him was a level 120 entity. But even so, his eyes turned gray and he lost his conciousness.
"As you wish sir. Please follow me."
