Chapter 2300: Chapter 2102: Gu Linxi vs. Cui Jiangjing
The noisy private room suddenly quieted down as soon as Gu Linxi and her group entered.
Dozens of eyes fell on Gu Linxi, as if trying to find a hint of steel and concrete in her face.
Gu Linxi didn’t care and stood there openly, letting them look.
However, Lin Wei couldn’t stand it and broke the ice first, “What are you all doing, why isn’t anyone talking? I’ve found Linxi; let me say something first. I haven’t seen Linxi in ages, and she’s going to sit next to me. No one is allowed to fight me for it.”
Her loud and boisterous speech left the others with nothing to say but to echo along.
“Alright, so you two deskmates have a deep bond?”
“Of course!”
Lin Wei hooked Gu Linxi’s arm and pulled her to the seat beside her, considerately moving her bag aside, smiling as she said, “Look, I saved you a seat, not bad, right?”
Gu Linxi could see she was looking out for her and gently said, “Thank you.”
These words made Lin Wei’s eyes well up, almost bringing her to tears.
Her deskmate had gone through so much, and she couldn’t help in any real way. She could only help resolve some awkward moments, and still, Gu Linxi said thank you.
Lin Wei felt a pang in her heart and invited her to sit down, beginning to join in the classmates’ chatter in a hit-or-miss fashion.
Her family was well-off, and she had married a good husband. The classmates all knew she was doing well, so generally when she spoke, she was met with a few agreeable responses. Seeing her protecting Gu Linxi, even though they were curious, no one wanted to be rude by asking.
As they chatted along, someone asked, “It’s strange, why isn’t the class monitor here yet?”
Someone answered, “The class monitor went out to pick someone up.”
“Didn’t everyone from our class arrive? Who’s he picking up?”
“No idea, maybe a family member?”
This was just a minor incident, and after a few mentions, the conversation moved on. It wasn’t until the server had brought in all the dishes for the private room that the latecomer finally arrived with someone in tow.
“Class monitor!”
Someone with sharp eyes saw the person coming in through the door and greeted warmly, “The dishes are all on the table, hurry and sit down.”
“Yeah, class monitor. We’ve been waiting for you.”
Gu Linxi remembered Lin Wei telling her that their class monitor was tall and thin, about 178 cm, with a family running a software business. He later got excellent grades on the college entrance exam and was accepted into Briton University. After graduating from Briton University, he was recommended for further study at Sword Pavilion University and stayed in Deep Valley working in software development. He even started his own small company and had great prospects. His older sister married into a wealthy and influential family in Capital City, making his own status rise significantly as well. He is now considered one of the eligible bachelors in the group. Many of the women attending this reunion were there for this eligible class monitor.
Gu Linxi saw at the door a man who indeed matched the description in terms of height and appearance. She wasn’t familiar with most of the classmates aside from someone like Lin Wei, who had been her deskmate for many years. After more than a decade, she hardly remembered their faces.
Looking further, beside the man stood a woman in a waist-fitted pearl outfit, a pearl-white Chanel-style dress paired with a black designer clutch, showing slender legs, and as she looked up, she saw the face of Gu Ran, which always wore a fake smile.
To be fair, Gu Ran was impeccably dressed today, with her pearl earrings glinting dazzlingly.
She stood obediently beside the man, looking just like a little wife.
