My Living Shadow System Devours To Make Me Stronger

Chapter 1231 - 1232: Catching Up

Chapter 1231: Chapter 1232: Catching Up

Damon had a long talk with them afterward. He was honestly surprised Sylvia didn’t know, after all, she was a Seer. She was supposed to know these things. Somehow, they had gone from being at each other’s throats to all ganging up on him.

"How can you be so irresponsible? Do you know what will happen if this gets out?"

Evangeline glared at him coldly. Why was he always like this? It was as if he didn’t care enough to think about what his actions could lead to.

"Hey, you said I don’t tell you anything. Now I told you something, and this is what I get?"

Damon spread his hands as he tried to defend himself.

There was a moment of silence before Lilith gritted her teeth.

"I see. That’s why Abellona has been so antsy lately. She has a lot to hide. That poor woman must be losing sleep."

She then glanced at Damon.

"First thing after getting your body back, I want one too."

Damon sighed before looking at her with a deadpan expression.

"Didn’t you say you wanted to wait first?"

"I want two. Maybe three."

Sylvia wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling his face close to hers.

"Sure, you can have a whole squadron of knights’ worth, as long as you stop crushing me with your grip."

"Okay. That means we’ll have one every year till we die."

Sylvia said it with such a serious expression that Damon wasn’t sure whether she was joking.

Renata scoffed.

"I don’t think you can handle that. But if everyone is getting one, I should get two, so I’ll take three. I want two boys and a girl."

Evangeline stared at them in disbelief.

Why were they so shameless?

They were acting as if children were something you could buy from a shop and have custom-made.

"I... If they’re getting one, so should I. I still have to carry on the family bloodline, and the purer the better."

She stammered through the words, her face reddening slightly.

Damon and Sylvia both turned to look at her.

"Wow. Someone turned out to be more horny than I thought."

Damon immediately took the opportunity to tease her. He had let everyone speak their part without saying much, but now he couldn’t resist.

"This coming from the scum who walks in on me changing?" Evangeline’s expression darkened she pointed an accusing finger.

"You’re in the peak of the Sixth Class. You knew I was coming. You wanted me to see the merchandise. And correct me if I’m wrong, you can equip your Ascendant Armor in a second, but you chased me around the room naked!"

"Oh, that’s it. I’m going to kill you!"

Evangeline lunged forward.

Before the argument could break into a fight, the door burst open and Leona ran inside, sparks of lightning crackling around her body.

"I overheard everything. I want ten."

Damon’s jaw dropped.

"Oh my God, what is wrong with you people?"

He looked around the room in disbelief before raising both hands.

"I’ll tell you what having kids is like. They’re... actually pretty cute. I have no complaints about it, but I don’t work for free."

He sneered as he held his hands between himself and Sylvia, making it clear that he was absolutely committed to his terms.

"I know what my genes are worth, not to mention my other talents."

"So what are you, a male prostitute?"

Renata asked with a deadpan expression.

"No, fool. I sell my talents, not my body. I’m more of a courtesan."

The moment he said that, they couldn’t help but laugh at his shamelessness.

There was never a dull moment with him.

The tension in the room disappeared almost instantly.

Since there was still a while before the meeting started, they decided to catch up on the last seven years.

They talked for a while before Evangeline suddenly crossed her arms.

"Where did you get this body from? You can at least tell me that, right?"

"No. Actually, I’m going to lie. Let’s just say we had it made custom for me. Of course, they left out some critical components, so Sylvia is helping with an upgrade."

Damon answered without hesitation.

Then he glanced toward Leona, hoping to steer the conversation away from himself.

"So where’d you get a dragon from, huh?"

"A dragon? You mean Aethergon? He’s a friend."

Leona answered nonchalantly while reaching for another snack.

Damon immediately stood up, his expression twisting with disbelief and jealousy.

"A friend? So you’ve been befriending lizards now, huh? What’s next, a snake or a monkey?"

"Just admit you’re jealous. I can see your face turning green."

Leona didn’t even bother looking at him as she continued eating.

"Yes, very much. I can’t believe you got a dragon. A Great Dragon. The last guy who tried to tame one was Ashcroft, and he failed."

"I didn’t fail."

Ashcroft’s voice echoed inside Damon’s mind.

"More like Aethergon fled."

Damon ignored the Demon Lord of Domination.

Leona rolled her eyes.

"I didn’t tame him. Aether is very much free. He can go and come as he pleases. He just lets me ride on his back sometimes. If you’re jealous, I understand. Call me Mommy Leona, and I might just let you ride him."

Her smile became wistful as she spoke.

"I can’t believe you would be so heartless, Mommy Leona... Can I ride him?"

Damon called her Mommy without even a hint of shame.

"No. He doesn’t want you. He only allows pure maidens."

She teased him, reaching over to poke his cheek with a smile.

"That’s it. I’m getting my own Great Dragon."

Damon stood up, looking as though he had just made the greatest decision of his life.

"That’s a bad idea."

Lilith warned him with a calm and bored expression.

"Very bad idea."

Renata echoed the sentiment with equal certainty, though she knew that wouldn’t stop him.

"Dumb idea."

Evangeline didn’t mince her words.

"Wow, Damon, that’s a great idea. You’re so handsome and brave. I really love you sooo much. As your fiancé, I support whatever dumb idea you come up with because that’s what lovers do."

Sylvia’s tone was sweet, but the sarcasm couldn’t possibly have been more obvious.

"Thanks, Sylvia. Even if you were a little mean in the end there, I believe in myself, so I will take Aethergon."

Damon said it while looking cool and imposing, completely ignoring the fact that everyone in the room thought he was insane.

"But you shouldn’t do it as you are. Wait until you reach the Seventh Class, or it’s going to just be a dumb idea."

Sylvia’s expression became serious as she offered her advice, acting very much like a supportive wife.

Damon thought about it for a moment.

He remembered how terrifying Aethergon was, how the Great Dragon could destroy entire regions with a single breath.

"Good idea. I’ll show that lizard some mercy after all. It’s like slavery. He should enjoy his freedom. Besides, my shadow is sort of with my body, so I can’t access my Shadow Storage fully. Anything too powerful can’t be brought out."

It was a shame, considering he had trapped Aethergon inside the Book of Shadows, a powerful magical artifact created by the Unknown God.

He did wonder if it was possible to imprison a god inside it, but it turned out some divine beings didn’t even have a shadow.

"I should probably call Matia back."

He muttered before sitting back down.

There was still some time before all the nobles arrived.

"So, Sylvia, what does our future hold?"

"I would tell you, but I don’t do readings like that anymore. But it’s good to see an old friend, don’t you think?"

As she said that, her gaze fell toward the door.

A few seconds later, there was a knock.

The door opened.

A man walked inside wearing noble attire.

The sight of him made Damon squint before he immediately turned his face away.

His footsteps were light, despite his imposing presence. His gait was powerful, and there was something about the way he carried himself that made him seem like a colossus trapped inside a human body.

He was quite handsome as well, with long brown hair.

Then he smiled at them.

"I heard everyone was here. I didn’t realize there was a get-together between old friends until Leona invited me."

Hearing that he had been invited by Leona, Damon glanced at her.

"You invited him?"

"Yes, I did. It’s been seven years, and the world is coming to an end, so I figured a little conversation wouldn’t kill you."

Her tone was serious, and Damon knew she was stubborn when she was like that.

"Actually, it might kill us."

Xander didn’t care for Damon’s words.

He dragged a chair across the floor and placed it opposite Damon before sitting down. He leaned back slightly and took a deep breath.

"How have you been? I see not much has changed. A tendency for secrecy and a large ego. Arrogant as always. No wonder you lost your body."

"And I see you still have a stick up your ass. Still whining."

Damon crossed his arms and replied without missing a beat.

This was their first conversation in years.

Not since Damon had taken little Ric.

"How have you been?"

"Better than ever. How has your marriage been?"

Damon replied, already knowing his marriage was in shambles since he had given his son away.

"Improving... You should try your hand at it. Putting a ring on a finger."

"And end up like you? Hard pass."

Damon smirked.

Leona looked between the two men, blinking in surprise.

"They’re getting along a lot more than I thought they would."

"Hmm. It is surprising."

Evangeline nodded slowly.

"I wonder what they’re fighting about."

She turned toward Sylvia.

Sylvia stared at the two men for a moment before answering.

"You don’t want to know."
