Chapter 225: Eat
Chapter 225: Eat
Mrs. Wilson looked Richard up and down, caught between shock and amazement.
He was probably already eighteen years old.
That was a long time, yet also not truly long for Magi.
The baby she had once carried from Night Valley City to Purple Rose Village had now grown into a fully grown man, so tall that Mrs. Wilson had to tilt her head up just to look at his face.
"Mrs. Wilson, it’s been a long time," Richard greeted her with a sincere smile.
To him, Mrs. Wilson’s kindness was something he could never truly repay, other than continuing to treat her well.
"Richard," Mrs. Wilson said softly. "I’m happy to see you again... I didn’t expect you to become this tall. And now Queen Lilith will become your wife."
"I suppose I’ve been blessed with good fortune since birth," Richard replied.
"Hahaha, that’s true... You really are blessed. How about coming inside? I’ve cooked for you," Mrs. Wilson said.
"Of course. I’ve been looking forward to your cooking," Richard nodded happily. Coincidentally, his appetite had returned after being intimate with Grace.
"Miss..." Mrs. Wilson suddenly turned to Grace and addressed her.
"How about you join us for the meal as well?"
From Mrs. Wilson’s gaze, although she was surprised that Grace had come with Richard, she seemed to already understand how close they were. Who knew how much she actually knew.
After all, she was almost always with Rebecca, so it was very likely she had seen Rebecca speaking with Grace.
She probably already knew that Richard also knew Rebecca was his mother.
Grace nodded to Mrs. Wilson and followed them into the inn.
The entire inn had clearly been rented by them.
Richard didn’t know who paid for it—Mrs. Wilson herself or Lilith, who might have known about their arrival.
However, Richard noticed that Mrs. Wilson had become much stronger. She had reached the World Realm. Naturally, she had become wealthy as well, even though she worked as a servant.
Renting an entire inn for a few days was nothing difficult for her.
One room in the inn looked more like the living room of a luxurious residence.
It had a dining table already filled with plates, though no food had been served yet.
"Richard, Miss, please sit down first. Some dishes aren’t ready yet. I’ll prepare everything shortly," Mrs. Wilson said as she gestured for them to sit.
"Lisa, help me bring the finished dishes to the table," she added as she headed into the kitchen.
Richard could already smell the delicious aromas coming from inside.
He and Grace sat down, and he couldn’t help asking in a low voice, "Does Mrs. Wilson know about what we did?"
"Yes," Grace answered calmly.
Richard took a deep breath when he heard that.
Rebecca’s opinion didn’t bother him much, but Mrs. Wilson’s was different. It was hard for him not to feel embarrassed knowing she was aware he had already been intimate with someone.
Still, this probably wasn’t considered strange by Mrs. Wilson. In this world, ordinary people often married earlier than people on Earth, sometimes even before their first intimate experience.
Not long after, Sister Lisa returned from the kitchen, carrying roasted duck and warm soup filled with various spices.
She was much quieter, clearly unfamiliar with Grace.
After placing the dishes on the table, she returned to the kitchen again.
This time she brought even more food, including various kinds of seafood like lobster and crab.
After that, Mrs. Wilson returned with toasted bread, rice, and orange juice mixed with ice.
"Richard, Miss, please eat," she said.
Richard immediately picked up his knife and fork, took a piece of crab meat, and ate it.
It had a delicate salty flavor—so delicious that his mouth instinctively began chewing faster.
Grace also seemed to enjoy the food as she ate.
One thing that puzzled Richard was that whatever he picked, Grace picked the same thing.
She did it without even looking at him.
He didn’t know whether she was doing it deliberately or simply wanted the same food.
He chose not to comment and continued eating, while Grace kept eating whatever he ate.
When he repeatedly ate lobster, she did the same.
Naturally, Mrs. Wilson and Sister Lisa noticed this, but neither of them said anything, pretending not to see it.
No one spoke during the meal. In truth, Richard himself didn’t know what to talk about.
In front of Mrs. Wilson and Sister Lisa, he truly felt like a junior. If they didn’t speak first, it was difficult for him to say anything.
Because they were so focused on eating, it didn’t take long for the table to be completely cleared.
Mrs. Wilson was even surprised at how quickly the food disappeared.
"Richard, would you like some more?" she asked.
"No need, I’m already full," Richard replied.
He didn’t want to trouble Mrs. Wilson by making her cook again.
"By the way, Mrs. Wilson, Sister Lisa, is there anything you’d like to buy? If there is, feel free. I’ll pay for everything," Richard added.
Since they were in the capital, he naturally wanted to buy something for them.
Sister Lisa’s eyes immediately lit up when she heard that.
However, Mrs. Wilson suddenly shook her head and patted Sister Lisa’s thigh.
"Richard, there’s no need. You must not waste your time. You’ll be getting married soon—we won’t be able to stroll around. Besides, even if you have many Nature Spirits, you must make good use of every single one. Don’t waste anything on us. Our future is clearly limited, while you have the potential to become a great figure of this world. As long as you reach that point, I could die without regret, even smiling as my body turns to dust."
Richard, who had thought Mrs. Wilson was simply giving a brief refusal, didn’t expect her to say so much.
Her words deeply moved him.
Mrs. Wilson truly wanted nothing from him. She only wished to see him become even more extraordinary.
Naturally, Sister Lisa nodded as well. Even though she wanted something, she had no choice but to agree with her aunt.
"Mrs. Wilson, I hope you’ll ask for many things once I become a Grand Sovereign," Richard said with a chuckle.
Mrs. Wilson had only spoken of him becoming a great figure in the world—but that wasn’t enough for him.
He wasn’t ashamed to say it: he would become a Grand Sovereign.
"If you truly become a Grand Sovereign, then I naturally won’t hesitate to ask for things from you," Mrs. Wilson replied.
"That day will come soon," Richard answered confidently.
"By the way, Richard, have you prepared your clothes for tonight’s wedding?" Mrs. Wilson asked.
Richard hadn’t expected that question, but fortunately, he had already asked the Fire Spirit Queen to find something for him.
"I’ve instructed one of my subordinates to prepare the outfit," he said.
"Then I can rest easy," Mrs. Wilson sighed in relief.
She had clearly suspected that Richard might have forgotten about it, which was why she asked.
And indeed, Richard had almost forgotten.
"Richard, it’s already noon. Tonight you’ll have to go to the palace. You should spend the remaining time resting so you’ll look your best later. There’s already a room prepared for you here, and if you want to soak in warm water, there’s also a pool," Mrs. Wilson said.
Richard nodded but replied, "I don’t want to sleep or bathe. I’ll just relax on the balcony."
"That works too... By the way, I need to meet some friends, so I’ll be heading out for a bit," Mrs. Wilson said.
Richard nodded again. "If you need anything, just contact me. In the capital, there’s nothing I can’t handle."
He spoke with complete confidence.
Mrs. Wilson simply smiled, stood up, and headed toward the inn’s exit.
"Richard, I want to go for a walk too," Sister Lisa said as she stood up and left as well, leaving only Richard and Grace in the inn.
Grace had remained silent the entire time, calmly sipping the orange juice made by Mrs. Wilson—a rare sight for Richard.
"This might be the first time I’ve seen you drink something other than wine," Richard said jokingly.
"I just don’t feel like it today," Grace replied.
"Grace..." Richard called her name when she didn’t look at him.
Hearing him, Grace naturally turned her gaze toward him.
"I’m really confused. Earlier, it looked like you were copying what I ate," Richard said.
During the meal, it had been hard for him to ask why, but now that it was just the two of them, he couldn’t suppress his curiosity anymore.
"I just happened to want the same things," Grace replied without changing her expression.
Richard could only freeze and roll his eyes.
Grace clearly didn’t want to answer honestly, and Richard couldn’t force her.
After that, Richard finally decided to go up to the balcony via the stairs.
This time, Grace didn’t follow him. She stayed at the dining table.
Richard saw her close her eyes, as if she had begun meditating.
Perhaps she wanted to train, while Richard simply wanted to relax.
But he wasn’t completely relaxing.
As he sat on the balcony, he took out the wooden bottle from the Fire Spirit Queen that contained her potion.
Heating it wasn’t difficult for him. He only needed to release a little flame, and it became warm again.
What was difficult was drinking it while remembering its taste—but he also felt it was better to finish it as soon as possible, since it was something beneficial that could help resolve his Aether accumulation problem in the Grimoire Realm.
