Chapter 261: Time to Eat

Chapter 261: Time to Eat

The Red Star Empress’s carriage was quite fast. Even though Boundless City was very far away, it took them less than five hours to arrive.

Richard had once caused quite a stir in this city, but he felt that most people wouldn’t recognize him anymore.

The Red Star Empress was even less likely to be recognized, since she was only famous within the Holy Star Kingdom.

Richard stepped down from the carriage first when it landed on one of the wide streets.

It took a moment before the Red Star Empress followed.

She was a beautiful, mature woman. Many eyes immediately turned toward her the moment she appeared.

Of course, the attention wasn’t excessive. People in this city were accustomed to seeing unusual figures.

"Your Majesty, is there anything you would like to buy?" Richard asked her.

"No..." the Red Star Empress replied, making Richard freeze. Then she looked at him seriously.

"Richard, don’t waste your wealth on me. I’m not a woman who can’t grow without relying on others. Just focus on using your wealth to strengthen yourself. It’s not like I would leave you just because you didn’t give me anything."

"No, that’s not what I meant. It’s simply my personal wish to buy something you want," Richard replied.

"Unfortunately, I don’t want to buy anything."

Richard, "..."

"Let’s just find a place to eat," the Red Star Empress said as she stepped forward.

Richard quickly followed at her side, then reached out and held her hand.

"You—?" The Red Star Empress was stunned.

That action caused the looks directed at them to change.

After all, the age difference between them was quite obvious.

One was far too young, while the other was clearly a mature woman at least in her thirties.

People might have thought they were a senior and a junior.

But if they were holding hands, then it was a senior and a junior on a date.

Richard didn’t care about the Red Star Empress’s shock. He even tightened his grip on her palm and pulled her toward a luxurious restaurant nearby.

It was a three-story restaurant, with the second and third floors surrounded by balconies.

Richard was interested in having lunch on one of those balconies.

As soon as they entered, a female waiter greeted them.

"We’ll go upstairs. Bring us your best menu," Richard said simply before pulling the Red Star Empress toward the stairs, leaving the waiter staring after them in a daze.

She seemed impressed by Richard, who had managed to win the heart of an older woman.

Richard led the Red Star Empress all the way to the third floor and brought her to a balcony that had only a single dining table.

There was an additional fee to eat there, so it was no different from a private room.

"Your Majesty, please have a seat!" Richard said—not only with words, but by personally helping the Red Star Empress sit down.

Then he sat beside her.

"I feel too old to be pampered like this," the Red Star Empress said.

"But you like it, don’t you?" Richard replied, winking with his left eye.

When it came to being pampered, who didn’t like it?

They didn’t have to wait long. A group of waiters arrived, led by the same female waiter, carrying a large assortment of dishes.

It was a seafood spread, paired with various vegetables like corn and potatoes, accompanied by two bottles of bright-looking red wine.

Everything was arranged neatly on the table.

"Wait!" Richard stopped the female waiter as they were about to leave.

"Yes, sir?" she asked, confused.

"Do you know a good inn around here? The highest-class one?" Richard asked.

"There are many here," the waiter replied, surprised to be asked about accommodations.

Then Richard took out a ring.

"There are enough Nature Spirits inside to pay for all this food and to rent an inn. Help me rent the best room available. Take the key and bring it here—the remaining Nature Spirits are yours," he said as he handed the ring to the waiter. She was instantly shocked, then delighted when she took a quick look inside the ring.

"I’ll do it. Please wait a moment, sir," she said before hurrying away.

The Red Star Empress remained silent as Richard arranged the room.

She picked up one of the bottles of wine, poured it into her glass—already filled with ice—and drank.

On the other side, Richard chose an ear of corn to eat.

The taste was truly incredible. He then took a very large piece of crab meat and ate that as well.

"This is really delicious, Your Majesty," he said.

Curious, the Red Star Empress tried it too.

"How is it?" Richard asked.

"I suppose it’s worthy of the price..." the Red Star Empress nodded.

"You should try the wine as well," he added.

Richard drank his wine.

The taste was refreshing. The effect wasn’t overwhelming, but it made him feel relaxed and confident.

He immediately poured himself another glass and continued eating.

Not long after, the female waiter returned and placed a golden key with a number engraved on it in front of Richard.

"Sir, that building over there is the inn. Your room is on the top floor!" she said, pointing toward a grand, five-story building.

"Thank you!" Richard took the golden key and put it away.

The Red Star Empress briefly glanced at the key before returning her attention to the food.

"Where are we going after this, Your Majesty?" Richard asked.

Richard was genuinely puzzled. If the Red Star Empress wanted to buy something, they could wander around to find what she wanted.

But she didn’t want to buy anything.

Richard felt the same way. If that was the case, wouldn’t they just go straight to the room—even though it wasn’t night yet?

"Anywhere you like. I’ll follow wherever you want to go," the Red Star Empress replied casually.

Richard looked into her eyes when he heard that, then reached for her hand.

"In that case, we’ll go to our room," he said.
