Chapter 321: Touch
Chapter 321: Touch
"Richard, you’re back." The Fire Spirit Queen could only stare in surprise.
Naturally, her expression was one of uncertainty. Her mind was clearly in disarray because the man she could already be considered to be in a committed relationship with had come to her place in the night.
How should she greet him?
"Would you like to have dinner?" She was lucky enough to come up with an idea right then and there.
But Richard smiled and shook his head.
"Queen, how about we have a drink?" he replied.
"A drink?" The Fire Spirit Queen froze for a moment but quickly nodded.
"Let’s go upstairs," she said.
Upstairs, it was like a private residence, while the downstairs contained a hall designed for meetings—not suitable for drinking.
After saying all that, the Fire Spirit Queen could only wonder why she had actually invited him upstairs.
"Sure..." Richard nodded.
In the end, the Fire Spirit Queen had no choice but to lead him to the door through which she had entered.
There was a spiral staircase—quite long, since the distance between the first and second floors was as much as 30 meters.
A palace for a major clan was, of course, enormous.
The Fire Spirit Queen walked slowly, and Richard followed at a leisurely pace.
"By the way, you might have forgotten—my name is Eldoria. Just call me by my name." She said, glancing back over her shoulder.
"Of course, I remember..." Richard chuckled upon hearing that.
His ancestor, Aldric, had called the Fire Spirit Queen by that name.
That day didn’t feel long to Richard.
How could he possibly forget?
He just didn’t want to call her by her name directly before she suggested it herself.
The Fire Spirit Queen couldn’t find the words to respond.
They arrived on the second floor.
From the staircase, Richard saw a luxurious living room connected to several balconies at the front and back.
Interestingly, the partition walls between the living room and several other rooms—including one bedroom—were made of transparent crystal.
Richard could see a reading room filled with books, a small but peaceful meditation room, and, of course, the only bedroom—a spacious one with a plush bed covered in a golden blanket.
It looked as though it hadn’t been used in a long time.
Perhaps since her return, the Fire Spirit Queen had spent her time solely on meditation and governing her kingdom. Not sleeping at all was no problem for her.
"Richard, have a seat..." the Fire Spirit Queen invited him to the sofa where she was already sitting.
There were only two sofas facing each other with a table in the middle.
Richard sat down but couldn’t stop looking around.
"I don’t have any wine that can get you drunk," said the Queen of Fire Spirits, pulling out two cups which she then filled with bright red wine.
The aroma was sweet and refreshing.
It was the kind of wine that lifted one’s spirits.
"Just drinking with you is enough to make me feel tipsy," Richard replied.
He took one of the cups and drank from it while the Queen of the Fire Spirit rolled her eyes.
Although Richard seemed calmer this time, he realized his words were still full of flirtation.
But she couldn’t deny that her heart was racing at those flirtatious words.
The more the Queen of the Fire Spirit observed Richard, the more she felt there was no age difference between them.
This was because Richard’s appearance already looked entirely like that of a grown man.
They just happened to be born in different eras.
As for life experience, they were almost equal. Richard simply hadn’t yet fought his final battle for the World Magic Aether.
Richard kept drinking until the cup was empty, then he set it back on the table.
Seeing this, the Fire Spirit Queen refilled the cup.
But her hand was caught by Richard’s, causing her to freeze.
She was, of course, flustered by this gesture, as it was a direct physical touch.
"Eldoria..." Richard said her name.
"What is it?" asked the Fire Spirit Queen.
Her heart pounded even harder as she was filled with curiosity about what Richard wanted.
"I want to sit next to you and hold you," Richard replied.
He didn’t feel awkward expressing his desire.
But the Fire Spirit Queen could only stare at him in astonishment.
Without waiting for her response, Richard stood up, moved to her side, and simply sat down while continuing to hold her hand.
The Fire Spirit Queen’s eyes naturally followed him.
Having grown accustomed to his mannerisms and flirtations, the Queen naturally calmed down fairly quickly.
However, she didn’t know what to say in response.
Her heart didn’t object, but she wasn’t used to saying yes in this situation.
She remained silent, essentially just waiting for Richard to make a move.
He still looked calm as he gazed at her face.
Then, his hand moved to her waist, gently wrapping around it.
The Fire Spirit Queen trembled slightly at the touch there.
But Richard didn’t go so far as to pull her against his body.
"You’re so beautiful," Richard said as one of his hands suddenly touched her face.
At that touch, the Fire Spirit Queen felt her soul soar into the sky.
She couldn’t deny that a man’s touch gave her such a comfortable and extraordinary feeling.
This, in turn, sparked an urge to touch him back.
Although the urge came on suddenly, the Fire Spirit Queen found it to be incredibly strong.
At that moment, Richard’s hand reached for the tiara on the Fire Spirit Queen’s head and pulled it off.
As it came loose, her red hair cascaded down.
With her hair down, the Fire Spirit Queen looked younger and more carefree.
Richard couldn’t hide the admiration in his eyes.
And his hand on her waist suddenly began to pull her closer.
"You’ll accept me, won’t you, Eldoria?" Richard said, looking straight into her eyes.
Neither of them blinked at all.
It turned out Richard was still asking this even though it had already been confirmed when she accepted the ring from him.
However, the Queen of the Fire Spirit couldn’t help but admit that this time, the sensation was indeed different.
"Yes..." Her lips parted to respond.
She couldn’t bear to remain silent any longer.
The passion of a romantic life turned out to be something she couldn’t resist.
She had forgotten the past; it was only the present that mattered.
At that moment, she saw Richard’s face draw closer to hers.
And a moment later, their lips met.
The Fire Spirit Queen felt as if electricity were coursing through her blood.
She wasn’t trembling anymore, but her hand moved involuntarily and grasped Richard’s hand.
There was no one here but them. The passion in Richard’s eyes was all too clear, yet the Fire Spirit Queen also felt that passion within herself.
If it was like this, how could they possibly stop?
