Chapter 329: Athena’s Change

Chapter 329: Athena’s Change

He smiled strangely, and that smile only made the Queen even more awkward.

"That’s a very good idea... You can arrange our wedding ceremony," he said without lowering his voice, shocking the Fire Spirit elders and soldiers.

Their eyes widened.

This was certainly not a simple matter. If the two of them were merely dating, then it could be considered a private relationship.

But if they officially married, it would also mean making Richard their king.

They looked at their Queen, who seemed completely incapable of telling her people that herself.

"By the way, I might need to meditate for a while to adapt to the Ruler Realm," Richard added.

Even for him, this was an unavoidable necessity because the realm was simply too vast.

There were many things he needed to understand carefully.

"Yes..."

The Fire Spirit Queen nodded.

After that, Richard soared into the sky.

He chose not to do it inside the city.

Instead, he went to a random forest filled with monsters, though none of them were strong enough to threaten him.

He then entered the Dragon Hall, where he met the skeleton that now possessed a heart.

Richard actually felt uncomfortable seeing it.

Without saying anything, he entered one of the training rooms inside the artifact.

He sat down and closed his eyes, sinking into meditation.

DING!

[Your mastery of the Teleportation Arcane Art has increased from 5% to 10%!]

[Teleportation (10%)]

He received the notification sometime during the night, causing his eyes to open.

It surprised him slightly that it was his Arcane Art that had improved.

Although it was only 5%, it was still higher than before, when it had been only 4%.

With his mastery reaching 10%, Richard could now create portals like Carla.

With nothing more than a thought, a portal appeared before him.

It was gray, its normal color. He had no desire to change its color like Carla did just to display her own characteristics.

The moment the portal appeared, Richard could sense the surrounding area across an incredibly vast range.

He could choose exactly where he wanted to go.

The farther the destination, the more Aether it would naturally require.

Compared to his other Arcane Arts, Richard had to admit that teleportation was extremely energy-consuming.

Perhaps that was because his mastery was still too low.

He did not experiment with it any further and instead continued his meditation, which was not yet completely finished.

More time passed, and morning finally arrived.

Richard stopped.

He opened his eyes, feeling that he had gained a solid grasp of a Ruler’s power.

An astonished expression appeared on his face when he sensed a formidable aura that even made him feel wary.

His eyes pierced through the walls of the Dragon Hall, and he became even more astonished when he saw a dark-red horse with a thousand different wings on its back.

A golden horn even grew from its forehead.

Its entire body was covered in dark-red fur, giving it an elegant appearance.

Its tail had also changed drastically, becoming a large reptilian tail.

"Athena..." he murmured when he saw his horse.

Its absorption of the Ancestral Bloodline had apparently finished, and the changes exceeded Richard’s expectations.

The increase in its strength was simply absurd.

Although it was said that the stronger a Bloodline was, the easier it was for a Primordial Beast to increase its strength, this was still far too fast.

Richard immediately stood up and walked outside.

This time, Athena’s presence no longer seemed to bother the skeleton.

Previously, it had been annoyed because it was uncomfortable being near a weak creature with an equally weak Bloodline.

"Athena..." Richard smiled.

The horse approached him, still displaying a submissive expression toward him.

Richard became confused.

It seemed Athena still did not possess human intelligence and could not speak yet.

"Boy, are you satisfied with the result?" the skeleton asked when Richard looked at it.

"Of course. But Athena still can’t speak?" Richard asked.

Logically speaking, a Primordial Beast with an Ancestral Bloodline should already be able to speak even before reaching the Lord Realm.

"It’s too early for that," the skeleton replied. "Boy, don’t compare this to the Primordial Beasts with Ancestral Bloodlines you’ve encountered before. The Bloodline I gave her is extraordinary. I obtained it during a life-and-death adventure where I nearly died several times."

"Erm... Really?" Richard became awkward upon hearing that, because the skeleton sounded as though it was reminding him that he owed it a tremendous debt.

Whoosh!

Richard chose to leave the Dragon Hall, leaving Athena behind.

He flew into the sky afterward.

(Richard!)

The Fire Spirit Queen’s voice echoed in his mind.

They were still not far from the capital, so how could the Fire Spirit Queen possibly fail to detect him?

Even after reaching the sky, Richard could still see the capital.

The palace courtyard had already been decorated accordingly.

Luxurious tables had been arranged, while the soldiers had changed out of their armor and into outfits suitable for serving guests at a banquet.

There was even an entertainment stage.

The banquet had not started yet, of course. It could not have begun so quickly. At the earliest, it would start that evening, after the guests had arrived.

The Fire Spirit Queen was inside her sealed palace.

Before she could say anything else, Richard opened his portal.

The palace might be protected by a formation, but the formation did not reject his power.

The moment he stepped through the portal, he appeared inside the palace hall, startling the Queen, who was sitting on her throne.

Unlike before, she was now only wearing a casual, thin, long dress.

Her red hair looked slightly damp, a clear sign that she had just taken a bath.

She probably had not planned on going outside yet, so she had not bothered to put on her royal attire.

"You can teleport?" The Queen seemed more interested in discussing this than anything else.

"Yeah. A friend gave me this Arcane Art. But it’s extremely difficult. My mastery is only at 10%, and this is all I can do. I can’t perform instant teleportation," Richard replied.
