Chapter 1235: Meeting
Chapter 1235: Meeting
Aurora walked past me and took the seat beside Amun, leaving the remaining seats occupied by the other Demi-Gods. I remained standing for the moment, waiting for the introductions to begin.
Amun gestured toward the figure closest to him.
"Let me introduce everyone properly. Starting with the Dragon Sovereign. He is a Middle Demi-God and one of the strongest members of the Prime Universe."
The Dragon Sovereign gave me a calm nod.
"Welcome, Billion. It is good to have another Demi-God fighting alongside us."
I returned the nod. "Thank you."
Amun then turned toward the next figure.
"This is the Essari Sovereign, a Low Demi-God."
The silver-haired woman smiled politely.
"It is good to meet you. I hope your arrival will bring us another advantage against the Eternals."
I nodded again.
Amun continued around the table, introducing each of them one by one. The Naga Sovereign was next, followed by the Feran Sovereign. Both greeted me in their own ways, though their words were similar. They welcomed me to the ranks of the Prime Universe and expressed their happiness at having another Demi-God join the war.
I did little more than acknowledge each of them. I had never met any of them before, and there was not much I could say beyond returning their greetings. Still, I carefully observed each person as Amun introduced them. Now that I was a Demi-God myself, I could vaguely sense the difference between their existences and understand that every one of them possessed considerable strength.
Eventually, Amun reached the three remaining figures.
"This is the Sovereign Abyssal Darkness."
The dark-robed man gave me a slight nod.
"Welcome."
"Thank you," I replied.
Amun moved on.
"The Sovereign Annihilating Lightning."
Black-violet lightning flickered quietly around the man’s body as he looked at me.
"Good to have another Demi-God among us."
I nodded in response.
Then Amun’s gaze shifted toward the final figure.
"And this is the Sovereign Eternal Time."
The moment I heard the title, my expression changed slightly. The old man’s warning immediately resurfaced in my mind.
The Order of Time.
The traitor.
The information I had received before leaving that place suddenly connected with the figure sitting in front of me. I looked at the Sovereign of Eternal Time more carefully, and this time I paid attention to the subtle characteristics of his existence.
Astral race.
That realization surprised me.
I had not expected the Sovereign of Eternal Time to belong to the Astral race. From what I knew, the Astral race possessed an extraordinary affinity for observing the flow of time and perceiving fragments of possible futures. Their abilities were closely related to future sight, so seeing one of them become a Demi-God whose Authority was Time made perfect sense.
It also explained why his presence felt so strange.
He was strong, very strong.
Even though I had only just become a Demi-God, I could already sense that the Sovereign of Eternal Time was not someone I could casually underestimate.
He looked at me and gave me a calm nod.
"Welcome, Billion Ironhart."
I returned the gesture.
"Thank you."
But my mind was already elsewhere.
If he really was the traitor the old man had warned me about, then there should have been others involved as well. The old man had told me that the Order of Time had discovered a traitor, but what had happened afterward? Had this Sovereign killed the others before they could report anything? Or had he somehow managed to silence them without anyone else discovering the truth?
I could not know the answer yet.
For now, I could only keep the information in the back of my mind.
I had no reason to expose my suspicion without evidence. Once the introductions were complete, Amun returned his attention to me.
"Now that you have met everyone, there is one more thing we need to do before we begin discussing the war."
I looked at him.
"What is it?"
"The Prime Fate Stone."
At those words, I became curious.
Amun stood from his chair and walked a few steps toward me.
"The Prime Fate Stone is what we use to grant the official title of a Demi-God within the Prime Universe. Every Demi-God sitting in this room has gone through the same process."
"Title?" I asked.
"Yes."
Amun smiled slightly.
"The Prime Fate Stone is connected to the illusive concepts of Fate and Destiny. It can peer into the possibilities of the future and observe certain aspects of a person’s destiny, potential, abilities, and nature. Based on what it sees, it determines the title most suited to that person’s existence."
I listened carefully.
"So it chooses the title?"
"Exactly. We don’t decide it ourselves."
That made sense. Amun raised his hand.
The surrounding space trembled slightly. Then something enormous materialized beside me.
A grey stone suddenly appeared in the chamber, standing nearly fifteen feet tall. Its surface was rough and uneven, with no carvings or inscriptions anywhere upon it. It looked ancient, almost primitive, yet the moment it appeared, I could sense something extraordinary hidden within it.
The stone descended heavily and struck the floor.
Thud.
The sound echoed through the hall. I looked at the enormous grey stone in front of me.
Amun stepped back.
"You only need to place your hand on it."
I glanced at him.
"And then?"
"The Prime Fate Stone will peer into your destiny and reveal your title."
He smiled.
"Go ahead, Billion. Let’s see what Fate has prepared for you."
I stepped toward the Prime Fate Stone and stopped in front of it. Up close, the stone felt even stranger than it had from a distance. Its rough grey surface seemed completely ordinary, yet there was an indescribable feeling coming from deep within it, as though something ancient was sleeping inside and had just become aware of my presence.
I slowly raised my hand and placed my palm against the stone.
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then the entire hall fell silent.
A faint tremor passed through the Prime Fate Stone, followed by a strange light that began spreading from the point where my palm touched its surface. The grey stone slowly changed. Colors began appearing across it, one after another, but they did not remain separate. Red, blue, green, gold, violet, silver, and countless other colors flowed across the surface, constantly shifting and merging together until the entire fifteen-foot stone was covered in a magnificent rainbow radiance.
I felt a strange force descend upon me.
It was not an attack.
It was as if the stone was looking directly into the deepest part of my existence.
Then the rainbow light exploded.
