Chapter 673: New Changes In The Capital
Chapter 673: New Changes In The Capital
The world core of Armus was more advanced than that of Vaythos, and I could feel it clearly through the changes spreading inside my Dawn Core. The moment the last wave of blue particles merged, a deep ripple passed through it, and the transformation truly began.
The first change appeared in the sky of the Dawn Core.
What had once been wrapped in endless darkness slowly peeled away, layer by layer, like night retreating before morning. The sky shifted into a pale, quiet glow, the color of the world just before sunrise. It wasn’t bright, but it was no longer empty. Soft light spread across the horizon, revealing the shapes that had always been there but never truly seen.
The Law Volcanoes stood tall beneath that new sky, their surfaces glowing faintly with restrained power. The Star of Origin was still dead, calm and absolute, while the Abyss Core rested on the side, deep and silent. Together, they gave the Dawn Core a strange, almost solemn beauty. For the first time, it felt less like a sealed domain and more like a new world being born.
But that was only the beginning.
Most of the remaining blue particles surged toward the volcano that represented my Law of Elemental Convergence. The moment they touched it, the structure trembled, and I felt the change rush through me.
Fire.
Just pure, natural fire.
I closed my eyes and let myself sink into it.
My awareness was pulled into visions of fire in its many forms. Fire that destroyed without mercy. Fire that warmed and protected. Fire that consumed other fire. Fire that cleansed, fire that forged, fire that burned quietly without light. Each vision flowed into the next, endless and layered, showing me that fire was never just one thing.
I didn’t resist it. I let the law wash over me, filling the gaps in my understanding.
When I opened my eyes again, the changes had settled.
I could feel it clearly. My Fire Law had moved beyond the second level of a major law. The volcano representing it burned brighter now, its energy output stronger and more stable than before. It no longer felt like something I merely controlled. It felt closer and more familiar.
As the transformation completed, I checked myself instinctively. My talent status regarding the dawn core remained unchanged, just as expected. But something else had formed.
A bond.
I could feel Armus now.
I felt its pulse, its flow, its balance. In response, the world core released a final ripple. That ripple spread outward, racing across the surface of Armus itself. Invisible violet Essence unfolded over the world, forming a protective shield that wrapped around the planet like a silent sky.
Below, life continued, unaware of what had just changed.
With the connection fully established, I scanned Armus carefully. I searched for hidden portals, foreign traces, anything left behind by the phantoms or by Lana. Layer by layer, I combed through space and structure. When I was finished, I found nothing. Armus was clean.
Satisfied, I used my link with the world core and shifted my position.
In the next instant, I was hidden high above the capital of Armus.
The city below was already reacting. Demons had stopped what they were doing, heads tilted upward as they stared at the sky. They couldn’t see the shield, but they could feel it. They could feel something had changed and the more perceptive once could even make out the change. As whispers began to spread inside the capital, I decided to move on to the next step.
I extended my power and focused on the capital’s structure. At its center stood the envoy tower, surrounded by the headquarters of the three great families. But that balance no longer existed. The Del Reys were gone.
So the city needed to change. But before I touched the city itself, I reached outward with my perception.
It spread like a silent tide but I allowed it to be felt by the demons and thousands of them did feel it at the same time. Conversations stopped. Steps slowed. Heads lifted. For a brief moment, the capital held its breath.
Then the pull came.
Space folded gently around every demon within the central area. In the blink of an eye, crowds vanished from streets, guards disappeared from walls, and entire buildings were emptied. They reappeared safely beyond the capital ring, standing shoulder to shoulder in open plazas and fields, staring back at the city with wide eyes.
“What is happening?”
“What the fuck!!! I was taking a bath, you sucker.”
“Where is my MEAT!!!”
I felt their shock ripple through my senses and hear their shouts. I smiled hearing them shout abuses at the sky.
Only when the city center was empty did I begin. I focused on the envoy tower.
The stone beneath it groaned.
The ground cracked open in long, glowing lines, and heat rolled outward in waves. Red-black stone rose from below, guided, folding into itself as if the world remembered this form. The earth climbed higher and higher, curving inward, forming the wide base of a colossal volcano-shaped fortress. My law of Elemental Convergence was finally being utilized for some construction work. As I was changing the capital below I wondered If I should do the same with Vaythos once I go back.
Below, the envoy tower remained untouched, perfectly still, as the structure grew around it. Stone wrapped close but never crushed it, leaving the tower standing at the heart of the rising mass, like a core held inside a mountain. From a distance it looked grand, even holy. Only those who understood power would realize it was also a cage. A cage for the coming envoy, to declare that the people of Armus were not gonna be the secondary player in their own world.
The fortress continued to rise.
Two massive rings of stairs formed around the volcano, spiraling upward in wide, deliberate paths. The lower ring glowed faintly, warm beneath the feet. The higher one burned hotter, the air itself shimmering with heat. Every step upward became harder than the last, the fire testing the body and will of anyone who dared climb.
At the summit, the stone opened.
A great platform took shape, and at its center, fire was born. Drawing on my newly gained understanding of fire from the world core of Armus, I shaped three separate flames. Each carried the nature, function, and presence of one of the three great families.
Their true fires were bound to bloodlines, so I could not create perfect replicas. Still, what burned before me was close enough, close enough to be recognized, and close enough to matter and increase understanding of any demon who could reach the summit.
