Chapter 966: Class Evolution
Chapter 966: Class Evolution
I opened the panel and saw the notification blinking steadily.
Incoming call: Olivia Rium.
I accepted it.
"Did you miss me?" The voice came through instantly, clear, direct, echoing inside my head through the system.
It took me a second.
Then I smiled.
"Lyrate. Of course I missed you. I’m glad you’re alive," I said, letting out a small chuckle.
"Don’t tell me you thought I wouldn’t survive," she replied, her tone sharp but playful. "Come on, it’s me we’re talking about."
"Yes, and that’s exactly why I was worried," I said. "Anyway, where are you, and how are you?"
There was a brief pause on the other side before she answered.
"It’s... complicated. I’m actually a mistress."
I blinked.
"You are what?" I almost laughed.
"I got reborn into the body of a mistress of one of the generals in an empire here," she said. "And they’re on the Believer side. But I knew you’d pick Defier, so I chose that too. And that made me a traitor of sorts."
"That sounds like a mess," I said.
"It was," she replied. "Because of that, I had to fight the alien forces operating outside the tutorial system. It got bad for a while, but I made it out."
I exhaled lightly.
"I’d expect nothing less from you," I said. "I’m guessing they’re looking for you now."
"They are," she said. "Running from them and picking fights when I had to pushed my levels up fast. That’s how I got enough CP for the communication system."
Then she added, "By the way, did Knight contact you?"
"No," I replied. "Nothing from him yet."
A short silence followed.
"I wonder where he ended up," she said.
"I’m sure he’ll reach out," I said.
I shifted my stance slightly, glancing around the now quiet plaza.
"Do you have a safe zone set up?" I asked. "If you do, you can use the teleportation circle to get here."
"I don’t have one yet," she said. "But I can set one up soon. Why?"
"They come with teleportation access once upgraded," I said. "You can link to my zone and jump straight here. We can plan properly after that."
She chuckled softly.
"Oh, I already have a decent amount of information, I know what our next step should be," she said. "Being inside their camp has its advantages. I’ve been acting like a spy more than anything else."
"That helps," I said.
"I’ll gather a bit more before moving," she continued. "No point rushing in blind."
"Fair."
Another short pause.
"Don’t die before I get there," she added.
I smirked.
"You’ll have to try harder than that to get rid of me."
The line stayed open for a second longer before going silent.
"Since she already has information, I should finish things here and clear any remaining enemy safe zones near the city," I muttered, then pulled up the pending notification.
[Class Upgrade Available]
[Proceed?]
"Yes."
[Select Evolution Path]
—-----------------------------------
[Radiant Annihilator (Unique Evolution)]
→ A Radiant Destroyer who has turned their body into a continuous energy engine, generating power both in and out of combat
→ Energy no longer depends on engagement alone; it builds constantly, allowing sustained pressure and faster Overdrive cycling
→ Every strike carries concentrated destructive force, designed to break through defenses and overwhelm stronger opponents
→ A walking annihilator—power builds with every moment, and release is inevitable
—-----------------------------------
[Radiant Cataclysm (Unique Evolution)]
→ A Radiant Destroyer who releases internal energy outward, turning every movement into a spreading wave of destruction
→ Energy disperses across the battlefield, allowing attacks to hit multiple targets and reshape the surroundings
→ Strikes generate expanding shockwaves and layered impact zones, making positioning and numbers meaningless
→ A living disaster—wherever the host stands, the battlefield collapses around them
—-----------------------------------
I stood there, reading both. Cataclysm would let me control the field, wipe out groups, dominate space without needing to move as much.
Annihilator felt different. It was very focused. Constant pressure. Constant build. No downtime between fights. No need to wait for energy to come back. It would always be there, building, stacking, pushing everything forward until something broke. That matched how I had been fighting so far.
Just pushing until the other side couldn’t keep up.
"I don’t need range," I muttered quietly. "I just need to break them faster."
I selected it.
"Radiant Annihilator."
[Class Evolved: Radiant Annihilator (Unique)]
[A Radiant Destroyer who has refined internal energy into a continuous destructive force. Energy is generated at all times, allowing sustained amplification and faster Overdrive cycling. The host does not rely on moments of combat to grow stronger, power builds constantly, and every strike carries the weight of that accumulation.]
[Class Skills Updated]
[Internal Generation 2 (Passive)]
→ Energy is generated continuously, both in and out of combat
→ Combat actions significantly accelerate generation rate
→ Energy storage capacity increased
→ Natural flow of energy becomes stable and constant
[Living Weapon 2 (Passive)]
→ Every physical strike releases concentrated bursts of energy
→ Excess force carries forward, increasing damage beyond the point of impact
→ Body remains fully charged, allowing consistent high-output combat
[Skill Amplification 2 (Passive)]
→ All skills scale with total stored energy, not just activation
→ Amplification increases naturally over time as energy builds
→ Current amplification exceeds previous ×3 threshold under high energy conditions
[Limitless 2 (Active)]
→ Releases a large portion of stored energy into a single action
→ The chosen strike gains extreme force, speed, and penetration
→ Can be triggered more frequently due to faster energy recovery
→ Does not fully drain all stored energy, allowing continued combat flow
[Class Skill Learned: Radiant Drive (Uncommon)]: Channel continuously generated energy into forward momentum, allowing the host to surge toward a target with extreme speed and force. Unlike Impact Burst, this skill sustains movement over a short duration, enabling rapid repositioning, chained engagement, or forced entry through enemy defenses.
Effects:
→ Converts internal energy into sustained forward acceleration
→ Movement ignores minor obstacles and resistance
→ Collisions during movement deal damage based on speed and stored energy
→ Can be chained after Impact Burst for extended mobility
[Skill: Annihilator Cleave (Uncommon)]
Description: Condense internal energy into the axe, forming a blade over the axe and release it at the moment of contact, turning a single swing into a crushing, multi-layered impact. Instead of projecting outward, the force detonates through whatever the blade touches, tearing through targets and continuing through anything behind them.
Effects:
→ No ranged projection (pure melee)
→ On-hit energy detonation
→ Can pass through multiple enemies in a line
→ Strong against blocks and weapon clashes
→ Damage ramps with stored energy
"Well... that’s a lot," I muttered, scanning through the two newly acquired class skills. I decided to test them right here.
