Chapter 1150: Mother Kali, You Can't!
Chapter 1150: Mother Kali, You Can't!
A tall Dragon Goddess, 476 CM in height, walked in her divine red dress that looked more like a combination of a dress and armor than a proper dress. Her long red hair made of pure destruction reached down to her thighs, black-red horns proudly rested on her head, and her dragonic eyes showed pure indifference. Anything that came too close to her was completely destroyed from existence.
Except perhaps for another woman beside her, of similar height, but with long black-red hair made of pure destruction, black-violet horns, and deep violet eyes. Like the woman beside her, she wore a black divine dress with violet tones that looked more like armor than a proper dress, her curvy body an exact copy of the woman beside her. The two looked like twins, but to a keen observer, the differences were more than obvious.
The first woman was the Dragon Goddess of destruction, Kali Elderblood, wife of the Dragon Emperor, while the second was naturally her daughter Kassandra Kashvi Elderblood, daughter of Victor and Kali.
Kassandra was born different from her sisters. Due to her mother and father being two of the strongest beings alive, and both having powers of destruction, she was born as destruction itself. She was destruction incarnate. She achieved what her mother wanted to achieve simply by being born; genes really were unfair sometimes.
Upon being born, she had the aptitude to become a new Primordial of Destruction of the universe, but neither Kali nor even Victor wanted that for now, so she always remained hidden on their personal planet that was inside Victor's soul. She was only allowed to leave when they managed to seal most of her power.
This seal functioned more like a limiter, similar to the one Victor had, rather than something that would harm her. After all, being born with so much power was also not a good thing. She had zero control over what, for example, her mother had in the concept of destruction. If Kassandra sneezed or even coughed and did not control herself, a planet could simply evaporate from existence.
And to make things 'better', this wasn't even all of her power. As a true dragon, even though she was born as the reincarnation of a concept, her predatory blood would not hold back. So what if she was a reincarnated concept? So what if she was the highest-order being? To her blood, none of that mattered as it completely devoured and assimilated it into her biology.
Consequently, Kassandra's draconic powers carried all aspects of destruction itself. Even her reality alteration performed through the draconic language carried massive damage. If she wanted to erase someone from existence, she simply needed to speak. And this did not only apply to beings, as anything could be erased if she so desired, and all of this used very little energy. It could be said that she had completely specialized in attack since birth.
Victor could only sigh in relief that she had not been born with the concept of END. If Kassandra had been born with this ability, she would not simply erase someone but would delete that person from existence forever, as if they had never existed.
Destruction did not completely erase everything as if it had never existed, erasing even that person from time and space and the Akashic Records. It simply recycled it so that creation could use that matter, but END was not like that. END was true conceptual erasure, and the record of its existence would simply cease to exist.
Kassandra also had Victor's eyes, just like all of his daughters, and she was born with traces of the concept of Negativity as well, allowing her, just like her father, to progress with this concept in the future. Genes really were something unfair. Some people struggled and suffered to reach such a level of power, while others simply were born at the top.
For Kassandra, such a thing had no importance. She would follow everything her father wanted, since she knew that he only wanted the best for her. The most important thing for her was that she had received the gloves Victor used when he was younger to limit his power!!!
A gift she cherished immensely, and a gift that always made her sisters jealous. Kassandra raised her hand once more and affectionately caressed the gloves, holding herself back from smiling completely.
'My father used these when he was much younger, and he gave them to me!!!' She always jumped mentally when she thought about it.
Seeing this beside her, Kali held herself back from rolling her eyes. Kali's opinion on the matter was complicated. She was shocked that her daughter had achieved what she wanted to achieve simply by being born, and she was a little envious. She wouldn't lie, but above all, she was happy that her daughter had been born strong and healthy. For a mother, above all, that was what mattered most.
[Control yourself, My Daughter.]
Hearing her mother's voice, Kassandra quickly lowered her hand and assumed her princessly posture: [... Yes, Mother.]
Arriving near Shiva's temple, the guards did not even try to stop them. First, simply approaching them would erase their existence, and second, they knew Kali, and they knew very well that her status was even more special than before.
As for the woman beside her, they were not fools. They had eyes, and it was obvious that this woman must be Kali's daughter, considering that she shared similarities with Kali and the Dragon Emperor himself.
One of the reasons the Imperial Wife and the Emperor's daughter were coming to the Hindu territory was the same reason Ariel went to visit the Heavenly Father.
As subjects of the Empire, the appropriate reaction should be for them to receive his call, but just because things were this way did not mean they were correct.
First, Victor married Kali and Ariel in a political alliance, and therefore, he would honor this alliance. Victor's stance had always been clear from the beginning: an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and blood for blood. Having the Imperial wives, along with their daughters, on this visit demonstrated his appreciation for the alliance, regardless of their personal thoughts.
And besides that, they were not unprotected, though Victor doubted that anyone would be capable of restraining Kali or even her daughter. Still, as an always overprotective man, he sent several hidden forces to protect the two, most of these forces being the family's own Imperial Guard and Victor's Eldritch subordinates. Ariel and her daughter Ariella received the same treatment when they went to visit the Heavenly Father, both of them being completely protected.
'Strange, in the past, when I thought that a possible war between my husband and my pantheon could happen, my answer would always be that I would protect my pantheon, but now... The answer is more difficult.' Kali thought. She genuinely liked her current family. She had several beautiful daughters, sisters who understood her, and a husband who cared about her. Therefore, if a war happened between Shiva and Victor, she would be completely divided over what to do.
On one side was her pantheon, where she had grown up for most of her life, and on the other was her loving family. Therefore, she hoped to maintain cordiality between the two.
'Although a war with my husband would be pure foolishness.' Sentimentality aside, if her friend decided to go to war even after seeing the parade, forget Victor, she would beat Shiva up herself so that he would wake up to reality.
Entering Shiva's temple, she saw her friend sitting on the throne. He looked much older since the last time he had seen her.
"Lady Kali... What a surprise that you are here." Since both were in an official setting, he addressed her respectfully. Shiva looked at Kali for a moment, who looked very different from before, with a complex expression. His friend had truly changed a lot.
Kali narrowed her eyes slightly. Her dragon eyes read the god in front of her, and she saw that he was merely tired, something that made no sense considering what kind of being he was. Who could possibly tire him out?
"Lord Shiva, why do you look so tired?" Kali couldn't contain herself and asked.
"... Well, my wife Parvati has been somewhat competitive recently due to the actions of Lady Aphrodite and her subordinates."
"Ah..." Kali understood now, 'Not everyone can be Victor, huh.' She couldn't help but think this when she saw Shiva's condition. How could a god of his caliber become tired? It was true that Parvati was not exactly weak, but did this make sense? She remembered hearing a report that Shiva had recently had more children. Could that be the reason?
Kali decided it was wiser not to question this and simply move on.
If Ariel and the Heavenly Father's environment was more like a daughter returning home, the environment between Kali and Shiva was much more formal, since other gods were present. But even though they were visibly only two people, the presence of Kali and Kassandra made everyone present feel an existential weight.
It was like trying to look at something incomprehensible, trying to understand them and failing miserably, which was absurd. Weren't they all gods? Why were Kali and this woman so different? The gods present could not help but feel uneasy and uncomfortable.
Returning to more official matters, Kali set aside her emotions in her speech and spoke: "My name is Kali Elderblood, Dragon Goddess of destruction of the Empire, and wife of the Dragon Emperor Victor Elderblood, and this one beside me is the Imperial Princess Kassandra Kashvi Elderblood, my and the Emperor's daughter."
For a moment, not only Shiva but all the gods present looked more calculatingly at the woman beside Kali. She was beautiful and powerful, perhaps...
Kassandra's face visibly distorted into something horrifying, and just as she was about to say something, her mother intervened. If her daughter said something now, forget the alliance; this entire temple would turn to dust. She knew very well how aggressive her daughter was.
"I suggest you do not continue that thought." Kali's entire presence battered the temple as if gravity had suddenly increased. As space itself around her began to be slowly destroyed, and this was with her simply easing her control on holding herself back.
"Such thoughts toward the Imperial family are inappropriate, if not insulting. The princesses have the right to decide whatever they want about their destiny. This is the Emperor's will."
[Calm down.] She ordered her daughter.
[... But Mother.]
[I said calm down.] She spoke with a stronger mother's tone.
[... I will tell my father about this.] She grumbled, but obeyed and stopped producing her powers.
Kali held herself back greatly from reacting to these words, 'These spoiled daughters! It's all your fault, Victor!!!'
This phrase had become a common consensus among Victor's wives by this point.
Shiva looked at the other gods and narrowed his eyes. Being present with two Dragon Goddesses who could read emotions alongside these fools would only put him at a disadvantage. Shiva remembered very well the first meeting he had with Victor present. If his daughter had even 1% of his talent for reading emotions, he did not want any fools nearby: "Leave."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
'I should have done this before.' He grumbled internally. He blamed his wife for this, because why was she competitive with Aphrodite anyway?
When the gods left, Shiva spoke: "I apologize for this, Kali."
"It's alright, I understand how they work."
Without other gods nearby, they could be more friendly, like the old friends they were.
"..." Kassandra looked at her mother and Shiva with narrowed eyes.
[Mother, if you are cheating on my father, I will report you. I will not remain silent. What you are doing is wrong, and worse yet, you are choosing such a bad man. You are blind!] She accused her immediately and without remorse.
Veins popped on Kali's head, and she looked at her daughter with irritation: [Stop thinking nonsense! Do you think I am that kind of woman!?]
[Then why are you being so friendly with another man? You can't! You are my father's wife! If you betray him, I will stand by my father without even thinking twice!]
Kali was holding herself back very much at this moment from pulling out the belt and beating this insolent daughter.
[He is my longtime friend.] She explained.
[Impossible, there is no such thing as a male friend. Mother Aphrodite and Mother Pepper told me that male friends are just hiding their intentions to sleep with you, and you are so beautiful, Mother. This is all a trap!!! Don't fall for it!]
Kali clenched her fists and solemnly promised to teach Pepper and Aphrodite a lesson. They were not wrong, but they were not right either, since exceptions existed.
Kali looked at Shiva, and she remembered the time when he tried to court her... And wisely decided to leave that matter aside. Aphrodite and Pepper were not wrong.
[Mother, wake up to reality!!!] Kassandra did not give up.
[Enough, stay quiet!!!] Kali really had a headache now.
"...." Kassandra obeyed, but her gaze said that this would not be the end.
Kali already regretted bringing her daughter here. Her daughter, Kassandra, was in the faction of daughters who were completely irrational regarding their father. This faction did not even tolerate their mothers looking at other men the wrong way. She was an extremist from beginning to end. For her, bringing Ariella or Liliana would be better, as they were the daughters who belonged to the less extreme faction.
Feeling her mother's regret about bringing her here, Kassandra opened her eyes in shock. "Mother, you-..."
More veins popped on her head, her power increased, and she forced a smile: "Give me just a few minutes, Shiva. I'll be right back."
"... Alright." Even though he did not understand, he agreed.
Kali grabbed her daughter by the arm, used her draconic language powers to bend reality, and brought her into a dimension she quickly created.
"Even if you hit me, I won't stay silent!!!" Kassandra rebelled.
"You are an insolent daughter. Do you think I am that kind of woman!? I love your father with my life!"
"Then why are you talking to another man!? You can't! You should only talk like that with my father!!!"
"Silence! You will learn to respect your mother!!!" Kali created a belt of pure destruction and snapped it with her hand.
"Ugyaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!"
