My Ultimate Sign-in System Made Me Invincible

Chapter 642: Having A Day To Oneself

Chapter 642: Having A Day To Oneself

While the paralyzed, utterly confused media circus outside the JP Morgan headquarters in Lower Manhattan was still staring blankly at their rebooting camera screens, trying to comprehend the sheer impossibility of what had just occurred, Liam Scott was already crossing the continental United States at a velocity that made a mockery of modern aerospace engineering.

The flight back to Los Angeles took a matter of minutes. Wrapped entirely within the flawless, frictionless bubble of Liam’s telekinetic aura, the journey was entirely silent.

To Yanxia, who was still clinging to his back with the happy, secure grip of a koala, the hypersonic transit was simply a pleasant morning glide.

Liam decelerated perfectly as the sprawling, sun-drenched perimeter of the Bellemere estate appeared on the horizon.

He dropped through the cloud layer, his descent as smooth as a falling leaf, and touched down on the manicured lawns of the mansion’s private gardens without displacing a single blade of grass.

It was only when Liam’s legs were firmly planted on the stone pathway leading to the main doors did Yanxia finally decide to detach herself.

She dropped to the ground with a graceful, weightless hop, smoothing out the invisible wrinkles in her radiant gold dress. She turned to him, her golden eyes sparkling with pure, unadulterated amusement.

"That was fun, Papa," she chuckled, a bright, melodic sound that seemed to make the ambient mana in the garden vibrate happily. "I enjoyed the ride. The metal buildings in that city were very tall, though the mortals inside them seemed very stressed."

"They usually are," Liam smiled, brushing a stray lock of hair from his forehead.

Yanxia tilted her head, her expression shifting from playful to intensely curious. "Where are you going exactly? For your trip. The energy you carry when you think about it... it feels heavy. Can I come with you?"

Liam’s smile softened into something deeply affectionate. He reached out and gently caressed the top of her head, his fingers threading through her dark hair. Yanxia leaned into the touch instantly, her eyes fluttering shut for a brief moment.

"I wish I could take you with me, Yanxia," Liam said, with a voice that quietly carried the weight of the responsibilities he was about to shoulder. "But I’m going somewhere for something very important. It’s a meeting that has been pushed away for too long. I’m not entirely sure if I can bring you along safely."

He paused, letting his hand rest on her shoulder. "More importantly, I need you here. I need you to stay and protect my friends. Protect Daniel, the staff, and everyone close to me."

Yanxia’s eyes opened, the playful warmth instantly replaced by the terrifying, cold apex-predator focus.

"I will protect them," Yanxia said, her voice dropping an octave, echoing with a quiet, lethal certainty. "If anything attempts to harm the fun people, I will burn their physical forms and scatter their souls into the void."

"Let’s aim for intimidation first, but yes. I am counting on you," Liam chuckled, slightly amused and entirely reassured by her absolute dedication.

Yanxia nodded slowly, accepting the divine mandate. Then, she looked up at him, her expression softening back into that of a devoted family member, albeit a reluctant one. "I agree to stay. But you must come back safe and sound, Papa. If you do not return whole, I will be very, very unhappy with you."

"I promise," Liam smiled, leaning forward to affectionately ruffle her hair, entirely ruining the pristine styling Lucy had arranged for her the night before. Yanxia didn’t complain, simply swatting his hand away with a small pout.

Leaving her in the gardens, Liam turned and walked through the heavy oak doors of the mansion.

The house was perfectly silent. The staff had been given the day off, per his strict instructions from the night before, leaving the massive estate feeling like a private, isolated sanctuary.

As he walked across the grand foyer and began ascending the sweeping staircase, Liam didn’t speak aloud, but he sent a localized, telepathic instruction.

Clone 3. My room.

When Liam pushed open the heavy double doors to his master suite a moment later, Clone Three was already standing there.

Liam walked past his duplicate and sat down on the edge of the massive, unmade bed.

"I’m sure I don’t need to tell you what to do," Liam said.

"You don’t," Clone 3 replied. The clone offered a small, reassuring nod.

Liam nodded in deep satisfaction, feeling the last remaining tethers of terrestrial anxiety dissolve. "Then I have nothing to worry about."

Clone 3 turned and quietly exited the master suite, heading down to the lower levels of the mansion.

Alone in his room, Liam leaned back against the headboard and closed his eyes.

System, Liam called out internally. I am ready to accept the invitation to meet Tiamat. Is there anything else I need to prepare? Anything else I should be aware of before doing so?

The response was instantaneous.

[Not at all, Host]

Understood, Liam replied. He kept his eyes closed. Tomorrow morning, then. I just want to use the rest of today to relax.

The System did not offer an opinion on his desire for leisure.

Liam let out a long, slow exhale.

The decision to delay his departure by twenty-four hours wasn’t born of hesitation. It was a deliberate, necessary grounding exercise. Tomorrow, he would step into the domain of a Primordial—an entity whose peers included the World Tree, Yggdrasil. He would be stepping back onto the impossible, infinitely long road of repairing a dying universe.

But today, he was on Earth. And he intended to enjoy it.

The rest of the day unfolded in a state of blissful, aggressively uneventful peace.

While the major news networks of the world were having absolute meltdowns over the JP Morgan footage, dedicating panels of bewildered experts to dissecting the "Three-Block EMP," Liam spent the late morning sitting on the floor of the main living room, playing a highly competitive, board game with Yanxia and Lucy.

Lucy had initially struggled with the concept of playing a game where the rules relied on random dice rolls, as her processing core naturally attempted to calculate the exact trajectory and physics of the dice as they left Liam’s hand.

Yanxia, on the other hand, approached the game with the same terrifying, do-or-die intensity she would apply to a life-and-death heavenly tribulation, cheering loudly whenever she acquired a property and glaring at the dice when they betrayed her.

Liam simply watched them, laughing until his sides hurt.

Around noon, his phone buzzed several times on the coffee table.

It was the group chat. Matt, Harper, Alex, and the girls were slowly waking up from the post-party exhaustion.

Matt: Just woke up. My head feels like it was used as a speed bump.

Harper: Truly an incredible party. Thanks again, Liam. Also, my mom hasn’t stopped talking about the architecture of that room. I think she’s trying to figure out how to replicate the breathing ceiling in her kitchen.

Stacy: Tell her not to try, Harper. It will end in a fire.

Liam picked up his phone, smiling as he typed out a few quick responses.

They didn’t talk for long, as everyone was content to just rest and recover. But the brief interaction was the perfect anchor.

As the afternoon bled into evening, the golden California sun dipped below the horizon, casting long, peaceful shadows across the Bellemere estate.

They ordered massive amounts of takeout, entirely ignoring the kitchen, and watched movies until the sheer comfort of the day began to wear them down.

When the time finally came to wind down, the vastness of the mansion felt slightly too large, too empty with the staff gone.

Without any formal discussion, the three of them ended up migrating back to Liam’s master suite.

The bed was more than large enough to accommodate them. Liam lay in the center, staring up at the dark ceiling. Lucy lay on his left. Yanxia curled up on his right.

Liam lay awake for a few minutes longer, feeling the quiet presence of Lucy and Yanxia.

A few minutes later, he closed his eyes, and let the silence of the night pull him to sleep.
