Chapter 685: Major Lucid Update

Chapter 685: Major Lucid Update

📢 Official Announcement

Nova Technologies is proud to introduce Lucid Immersive, the Lucid Camera, and a comprehensive audio update for all Lucid device users.

All updates are available now through automatic device update.

LUCID CAMERA

The Lucid device has always contained two miniature autonomous cameras embedded within both ends of the frame. Those cameras are now active for all Lucid device users.

Design

Two miniature autonomous cameras are embedded within both ends of the Lucid device frame. Each camera detaches from the frame independently and flies autonomously during use. When not in use they dock back into the frame automatically and charge.

Camera One locks to the user’s face and body simultaneously, maintaining a stable fixed position relative to the user regardless of movement or environmental conditions.

Camera Two locks to Camera One from behind, facing outward toward the user’s environment, capturing everything in front of the user from behind the user’s position.

Both cameras operate simultaneously at all times, capturing the user and their environment together in a single continuous dual-perspective feed.

Stability

Both cameras maintain stability exceeding current flagship smartphone camera standards across all conditions including extreme environments and high-speed movement. At speeds equivalent to skydiving and beyond, an advanced adhesion system activates automatically, anchoring each camera against wind force without interrupting capture or repositioning. The cameras do not drift, shake, or lose their locked position under any condition achievable by consumer activity.

Resolution

Both cameras capture at 64K resolution. All captured footage and images are stored locally on the Lucid device. Nova Technologies does not access, store, or transmit captured content at any stage.

Zoom and Clarity

Both cameras maintain perfect clarity under any atmospheric condition within a range extending to Jupiter’s orbital distance. Beyond that range natural optical degradation applies. No manual zoom adjustment is required. Clarity at distance is automatic and continuous.

Power

Each camera charges automatically when docked to the Lucid device frame. When detached and active each camera draws from its own onboard charge. Each camera supports up to 168 hours of continuous active capture on a full charge. Power is managed automatically between active capture and standby states to optimize usage duration across the full charge cycle.

Privacy

Each camera functions exclusively for its registered owner and registered device. In the hands of any other person or separated from its registered device the camera is completely inert. It captures nothing. It transmits nothing. It cannot be activated by any means other than its registered owner using their registered device.

LUCID AUDIO UPDATE

Nova Technologies is introducing a comprehensive audio update across all Lucid device functions including camera capture, music, content playback, and communication.

Noise Cancellation

The Lucid device now features noise cancellation at a level no existing consumer technology approaches.

At maximum setting the device eliminates all external environmental sound completely regardless of source or intensity. A construction rig operating at close range produces no audible sound to the user. A conventionally launching spacecraft at close proximity produces no audible sound to the user. The device creates a complete acoustic environment for the user where the only sound present is what the user chooses to hear through the device.

This is not reduction. It is elimination. The user’s auditory environment is entirely within their control at all times.

Users control noise cancellation levels through their Lucid device across a continuous scale from complete elimination of all external sound to full transparency where all environmental sound passes through naturally. Every point on that scale is available to the user at any time.

Noise cancellation settings can be managed globally across all device functions simultaneously or set independently for each function.

Global Setting — one noise cancellation level applied across camera capture, music, content playback, and communication simultaneously.

Function Specific Settings — independent noise cancellation levels set for each function. Maximum cancellation during a call. Reduced cancellation during music playback to preserve a degree of ambient sound. A different level during content viewing. Each function operates at its own setting independently of the others.

The noise cancellation system is active across all Lucid device audio functions. It applies during camera capture, music and content playback, communication, and all other audio experiences on the device.

Health Note

The Lucid device’s noise cancellation system provides complete protection from hearing damage in any acoustic environment when active. Users in environments that would cause hearing damage under normal circumstances are fully protected by the device’s audio system regardless of external sound intensity.

LUCID IMMERSIVE

What It Is

Lucid Immersive is a fundamental update to the Lucid device experience.

From this update forward the Lucid device operates in full immersive mode as its default state. Every experience on the device — content, shopping, gaming, creation, communication — is experienced from within rather than observed from outside. The boundary between the digital experience and the user’s physical presence inside it has been removed as a standard condition of using the device.

This is not a feature that can be activated or deactivated. It is how the device works.

Mini Screen

For situations requiring quick interaction without full immersion the Lucid device supports a Mini Screen overlay.

The Mini Screen is a small floating display rendered in the user’s field of view that allows quick access to notifications, messages, and platform functions while the user remains present in their physical environment. It functions as the device’s lightweight interaction state for moments that do not require full immersion.

Users move between full immersive mode and Mini Screen fluidly at any time.

AVATAR UPDATE

To support the full intended experience of Lucid Immersive Nova Technologies is introducing an updated avatar system for all Lucid device users.

Users are advised to recreate their avatar in their own likeness for the best experience across all Lucid Immersive features particularly virtual store clothing try-on. An avatar modeled after the user’s actual body proportions ensures that what looks good on the avatar reflects what would look good on the user in reality.

How To Update Your Avatar

The Lucid Camera enables direct avatar modeling from the device. Users may update their avatar through any of the following methods.

Using the Lucid Camera — stand in a clear space in form-fitting clothing. The Lucid Camera captures three positions automatically in sequence. Facing forward. Full side profile. Facing away. The device AI assistant models the avatar from all three captures combined.

All three positions are required for accurate proportional modeling. Front, side, and back together give the AI assistant the complete three-dimensional picture needed to represent how clothing fits and drapes on the user’s body from every angle.

Form-fitting clothing is sufficient for accurate proportional modeling. No skin exposure is required or requested at any stage.

The avatar is modeled for proportional accuracy rather than photographic replication. It reflects the user’s body shape and general appearance closely enough for clothing to fit and drape correctly in virtual environments.

Avatar updates are not mandatory. All Lucid Immersive features remain fully accessible regardless of whether a user updates their avatar. However users who do not update their avatar will not receive the full intended experience of virtual store clothing try-on and other avatar-dependent features.

Avatar data is private. It is processed locally on the Lucid device. Nova Technologies does not store, access, or use avatar modeling data for any purpose.

LUCID IMMERSIVE — VIRTUAL STORES

Every seller on Lucid Market has a virtual storefront generated automatically from their listing data. No setup is required from the seller. Every verified seller’s store exists in virtual space from the moment their first listing goes live.

What It Is

When a Lucid user opens Lucid Market they enter the virtual store of any seller they choose. They walk through it. They examine products at actual scale from every angle. They see clothing worn, furniture placed in a room, products held in a hand. The experience is indistinguishable from physically being inside a retail space.

Every product in the store is the product the buyer will receive. What they see is what arrives through Nova Express.

Multiple Lucid users can enter and shop within the same virtual store simultaneously. Users are visible to each other within the shared store space. Friends can browse together, show each other products, and make purchases from within the same virtual environment.

Virtual Wearables Try-On

All wearables listed on Lucid Market can be tried on virtually before purchase. When a user selects a wearable item in a virtual store, they can user to virtually try it on. The item fits and drapes according to the user’s avatar proportions. Users can see how the item looks on their own body shape before committing to a purchase.

Users with updated proportional avatars receive the most accurate try-on experience. Users with default avatars can still use virtual try-on but the fit representation reflects the default avatar’s proportions rather than their own.

Virtual try-on applies to all clothing and wearable items listed on Lucid Market. It requires no additional setup from the seller. The system processes all clothing listings automatically.

Seller Storefronts

Every verified seller on Lucid Market receives an automatically generated virtual storefront. The storefront is built from the seller’s listing data and displays all active listings in a clean professional environment without requiring any design input from the seller.

Sellers who wish to customize their virtual storefront may do so through their Lucid device or Institutional Terminal.

Customization is optional. Every seller’s automatically generated storefront is fully functional from day one without any modification.

Virtual storefronts exist independently of any game within The Hub. They are a Lucid Market feature, not a gaming feature.

LUCID IMMERSIVE — VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE

Every piece of visual content on LucidNet — every film, short film, serialized show, music video, and visual content of any format created through Lucid Studio — is now experienced from within rather than observed from outside.

What It Is

When a Lucid user watches content they are inside it. Not controlling it. The story plays out exactly as the creator intended. But the user stands within the scene. They move freely through the environment the creator built. They experience the spatial reality of the content from whatever position within it they choose.

The narrative is the creator’s. The experience of being inside it is the user’s.

Freedom of Movement

Users have complete freedom of movement within the virtual environment of any content they are experiencing. They may move anywhere within the space the creator has built. They may observe scenes from any angle and any position. Creator-designated moments where specific positioning enhances the intended experience are marked within the environment but are not mandatory.

Content creators building new work after this update are encouraged to design their environments with spatial depth and full three-dimensional detail in mind. The virtual experience of content rewards environments built to be inhabited rather than observed.

Existing Content

Every piece of content currently published on LucidNet through Lucid Studio has been retroactively updated to support virtual experience mode. All existing films, short films, serialized shows, and music videos are available in virtual experience from today.

Institutional Content

When institutional content hosting launches all content hosted on LucidNet through the institutional framework will support virtual experience mode. Films, serialized shows, and music videos from institutional partners will be experienced from within in the same way as all Lucid Studio content.

CONTENT CREATOR UPDATE

Lucid Studio has been updated to support full three-dimensional environmental design for virtual experience production.

Creators building content intended for virtual experience can now design their environments in complete spatial depth. Every surface, every background element, every environmental detail that a viewer moving freely through the scene might encounter is now a designable element within Lucid Studio.

Creators who designed content before this update will find their existing work has been automatically processed for virtual experience compatibility. The processing preserves the creator’s original vision while making the environment navigable by viewers.

PRIVACY

Virtual store sessions and virtual experience sessions are private. Other users within a shared virtual store can see each other within that store space. No user’s session data, movement within virtual environments, viewing behavior, or avatar data is shared with sellers, content creators, or third parties.

Nova Technologies does not use virtual experience or virtual store session data for any purpose beyond delivering the experience to the user.

Avatar modeling data and camera capture data are processed locally on the Lucid device and are not accessible to Nova Technologies or any third party at any stage.
