My Werewolf System

Chapter 1345: A System Error

Chapter 1345: A System Error

His father was a Werewolf belonging to the original long lineage of them. So if anyone knew anything to do about Werewolves it had to be his father.

Due to how close he was to the Alpha, Gary's grandfather, they also would have learnt many things from the bookkeeper.

He was a person that would be more knowledgeable than Midwak, and unlike Midwak could trust his father not to lie to him.

"If it's something regarding the system, I'm afraid I don't know much." Dean replied. "I hardly helped in that aspect of it, so I don't even know how it fully works. I don't think it's something Rickle has worked with often himself, so I'll ask him about it.

"If it's serious you will get news, if it's not, then you won't hear from me. However, a voice in your head?"

Dean thought about it hard for a while, as he tried to think back to all the lessons that were taught to him by the bookkeeper, and he remembered a few instances that talked about hearing a voice in their mind before.

"Gary…did you and your group, did you perform a ritual? Did you strike some sort of deal?" Dean asked.

Gary's heart sank in that moment, he could hear the sound of every heartbeat ringing through his ears.

He couldn't put his finger on where he had heard the voice before yet it was one he clearly had memories of.

He had only heard it for a moment, and it was years ago, but it was clear the same voice that was reaching out to him, it was the one from the ritual.

"What deal did you make?" Dean whispered.

"Is it bad?" Gary asked. "To make a deal with it…"

Dean placed both of his hands on Gary's shoulder.

"In the past, particular family members made a deal, and they all ended in travesty. The deal itself didn't seem bad, but the consequences from the deal is the issue. It's believed due to our ancestors, that whoever this being is that we make a ritual with had broken one of these deals, and the curse put upon us, was a rage at the night of every full moon, a bloodlust that we can't control.

"I don't know the full details, and I'm not sure the bookkeeper does either. Often Garlak would talk of having lost a part of our Kakeseak in history.

"I can't help you with the deal you made, I don't know information on reversing it or anything like that…but I can just tell you to be wary. Now you have made a contract with this being, there is a small connection between you and him, and this could be his way of trying to reach out."

The look on Dean's face Gary could tell it was one of worry? Why was it, each time an issue was solved, or seemingly solved another one would pop up.

"Gary, I'll do my best to aid as I can, and not just you, but everything that you built up as well." Dean said as he went in and gave Gary a big hug, and then turned away walking out of the Wolf's pool club and heading off down the street.

Gary turned around to head back inside with the others, but there was still a lot on his mind.

'Why would that being try to contact me?' Gary thought. 'The deal we made, I still have some time left. It hasn't contacted me before either. Is it because I entered the True Alpha more?

'Was that what allowed it to connect with me? Is that why I can hear the voice now, and only me.'

"I'm going to have to say it…but I think I was wrong." Kai eventually spoke out. "Hearing your father speak, for some reason I really think he's telling the truth. I don't think Lupus will attack us.

"I still think we should prepare for the worst, that's just smart thinking, but I will say this now, I think we're going to be okay."

For some reason hearing those words from Kai, right after what he had just talked over with his dad, it didn't sit right with him.

With all talks said and done and food in their belly, the group had split up walking to their separate homes.

While Gary had just picked the apartment in Cipen which was closest for him to enter, Xin had walked with him right up to his door.

"You know, usually it's the guy that walks the girl home, but you have a lot on your mind, and it's not like anyone is going to take me down in a fight." Xin commented. "Are you sure you don't want me to stay with you tonight. We don't have to sleep in the same bed if that's too fast for you."

Gary let out a small chuckle. He wasn't even embarrassed by what Xin was saying because his mind was on other things and she could see that.

"I think today, might just not be a good idea, with that voice in my head and visiting my father…I'm really tired, I think I just need some rest. I'll see you in the morning." Gary claimed.

Xin smiled and the two parted ways there. As Gary entered his apartment he went right for the sofa and slumped right in it letting out a long big sigh as he looked at the ceiling.

'The voice at least has stopped…maybe it's something I don't have to worry about…'

And right on cue, the voice entered his mind again.

'I want to see you….come…meet…me.' The voice said.

And just like that, in Gary's vision he could see a visible scent trail, leading right out of his window.
