Chapter 205: Cloud Empire (25)
Chapter 205: Cloud Empire (25)
The impact made the entire hall tremble.
The spike cracked but did not shatter immediately. Yun Hao’s fist sank a few centimeters into the ice before being stopped.
Waves of energy spread out.
Both were thrown backward.
Kyrian slid several meters, leaving a frozen trail on the ground before steadying himself. Yun Hao was thrown even farther, rolling until he stopped near the edge of the arena.
Silence took over the environment.
No one spoke for a few moments.
Then, murmurs began to arise.
"He... really faced Yun Hao head-on..."
"That shouldn’t be possible..."
"What kind of monster... has emerged in the Blood Court again..."
Kyrian straightened his body slowly.
Yun Hao stood up on the other side, his gaze fixed, serious, filled with respect and caution.
He truly could not gain an advantage against Kyrian, and would have to fight seriously against someone so far below him in cultivation.
Yun Hao advanced again.
His body moved in a straight line, crushing the ice beneath his feet with every step. The blue energy armor vibrated, absorbing the impact of the cold and the pressure of the environment. The Qi around him continued to be pulled aggressively, keeping his strength at a constant limit.
Kyrian did not retreat.
The ice responded before the thought even finished forming.
From the ground, spikes rose in sequence, one after another, forming an irregular defensive line.
Yun Hao dodged the first, crushed the second with his forearm covered by the armor, and pierced through the third with his shoulder. Fragments of ice flew in all directions.
Kyrian raised his hand.
A wall of ice formed in front of him, thick, compact, and reinforced by multiple overlapping layers.
Yun Hao collided with it with his entire body. The wall cracked but did not give way completely. The energy of the impact dissipated along the frozen surface.
Before Yun Hao could adjust his movement, ice spears appeared around Kyrian.
They were not slow. They were fired like projectiles, cutting through the air with sharp whistles. Yun Hao twisted his body, blocking two with his arms and deflecting another with his shoulder. A fourth struck his side but shattered upon contacting the energy armor.
He advanced another step.
Kyrian lifted his foot and lightly stomped the ground.
The ice spread in waves. Thin needles emerged from all sides, rising at unpredictable angles. Yun Hao jumped, spinning in the air, crushing some with kicks and dodging others by mere centimeters.
When he landed, another wall was already in front of him.
"Damn it... how irritating." Yun Hao muttered through clenched teeth.
No matter how much he advanced, Kyrian always maintained the same distance. Not a step more. Not a step less.
The hall watched in tense silence.
Some had already stopped breathing normally. Others could not fully follow the movements. The constant cold made the environment uncomfortable, and the pressure of Yun Hao’s Qi made the air heavy.
"He can’t get closer..." someone commented in a low voice.
"But the young from the Blood Court also can’t finish it..." another replied.
Indeed.
Kyrian realized this clearly.
A freezing gaze was no longer enough.
Yun Hao’s energy armor blocked direct freezing. The cold still affected him, making his movements more rigid and continuously draining Qi, but it did not paralyze him as before.
’That armor is an ability of his special physique... As long as that armor exists, I can’t freeze him completely.’ Kyrian concluded.
Even so, he showed no haste.
The ice continued to obey.
Yun Hao advanced once more, his fist wrapped in blue energy. Kyrian responded with another wall, followed by three spikes rising from the ground at different angles. Yun Hao destroyed one, dodged the second, and was forced to retreat from the third.
The rhythm repeated itself.
Advance. Defense. Long-range counterattack. Retreat.
After several exchanges, Yun Hao stopped.
He took a deep breath, his chest rising and falling more heavily. Vapor escaped from his mouth in dense clouds. His eyes narrowed as he evaluated the ice-covered arena, the partially destroyed walls, and the broken spikes scattered across the ground.
This would not work.
He straightened his body and assumed a different stance.
His feet spread slightly apart. His arms moved to the sides. Qi began to concentrate, not only around his body but also above him.
Mist began to form.
It was not ice. It was condensed vapor, thick and slowly swirling. The air became cloudy, reducing visibility.
Some cultivators leaned forward.
"He’s finally going to use a technique..." Bai Zhu murmured.
Yun Hao opened his mouth and shouted.
"Cloud Fist!"
The mist reacted.
All the energy concentrated into a single point in front of Yun Hao. A gigantic fist of blue energy formed, dense and slowly rotating, before being launched.
It advanced like a projectile.
The speed was absurd. The air was pushed backward, creating a visible shockwave. The fist tore through the arena, crushing ice and leaving a trail of destruction in its direct path toward Kyrian.
Kyrian did not move.
His eyes shone.
The energy in his dantians was released in a controlled manner. There was no explosion. Only an immense, precise flow.
The ground in front of him responded.
Ice appeared in successive layers, one over another, forming a complete defense. Not just a wall, but an entire structure, reinforced, compacted, integrated into the ice already present in the arena.
The Cloud Fist collided.
The impact shook the hall once again. The frozen defense trembled, cracked in several places, but held. The energy was dissipated, spreading in waves that swept across the arena.
When the mist began to dissipate, Kyrian was still there.
Unharmed.
Yun Hao clenched his fists.
The exchange continued.
He used two more techniques, varying the angle and trying to force an opening. Kyrian always responded in the same way.
With an almost absolute defense.
Neither of them could advance beyond that point.
After dozens of exchanges, it became clear to everyone.
If they continued like this, they would have to reveal even more of their strength.
Kyrian knew this.
He could use another ocular pair. The Sword Eyes surfaced in his mind. Their offensive power was superior. With them, he might be able to pierce Yun Hao’s energy armor.
But he was not interested.
This was not a decisive fight, nor a fight to the death. There was no need.
Before he needed to decide, Yun Hao retreated.
He took a few steps back, breathing deeply, his body still enveloped by the blue armor, but clearly more cautious.
He sighed.
"It seems it won’t end anytime soon if it continues like this. It was a good fight, after all." He said, in a serious tone.
He raised his gaze to Kyrian.
"Why don’t we consider a draw?"
