Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation

Chapter 357: Five-Horned Lava Lizard (3)

Chapter 357: Five-Horned Lava Lizard (3)

The Five-Horned Lava Lizard charged forward.

Its colossal body exploded forward with an absurd speed for something of its size. The volcanic ground shattered beneath its paws, creating craters with every step. Lava and molten rocks were thrown into the air like fragments from a continuous explosion, while its draconic presence filled the entire region like a living storm.

Kyrian did not move immediately.

He simply observed, his snowflake-shaped eyes spinning slowly, glowing brighter and brighter as enormous quantities of Qi were drawn from his two cores. The energy of ice flowed through his eyes like a frozen river, preparing for the storm that was about to come.

Focus.

Kyrian focused completely on the battle.

The world around him slowed down even further.

It was not a technique but a state of awareness that Kyrian had naturally acquired to focus during his fights. The heat currents in the air, visible like distortions in the atmosphere. The flow of magma beneath the earth, pulsing like the veins of a sleeping giant. The movement of the lizard’s muscles, every fiber contracting before a motion.

Everything became even more absurdly clear before his eyes.

At that moment, his eyes were not merely a source of cold power. They were also the source of the already well-known absurd innate perception of his eyes.

Then...

The ground exploded beneath Kyrian.

A colossal claw lunged forward, wrapped in fire and magma, crushing the place where he had been an instant earlier. The impact created a shockwave that shattered rocks within dozens of meters.

Kyrian dodged like a blue-ice phantom.

His body slid dozens of meters backward in one fluid movement.

Countless layers of ice appeared automatically before him, not to block, but to confuse, to create visual barriers that disrupted the beast’s line of attack.

At the same time, the ice crystals he had prepared earlier shot toward the lizard.

Dozens of blade-sharp projectiles struck the creature’s body.

The scales glowed with an intense red light. The flames naturally escaping from its body evaporated the crystals before they could even pierce its natural armor.

The ice barriers Kyrian had raised between them exploded one after another as the beast tore through everything using pure physical strength. It was as though they had been made of glass, not ice reinforced with Qi.

The impact of each barrier breaking made the entire air vibrate.

Kyrian narrowed his eyes.

’What monstrous physical strength...’

Kyrian had already fought opponents stronger than himself many times before. He was already used to it.

But there was something different about that lizard. It was not merely brute force but the sensation of standing before a power that should not exist at that cultivation level.

That was the power of dragon blood. Even if only a minuscule amount of it.

The lizard roared.

The sound shook the nearby mountains, echoing through the Intermediate Area like continuous thunder. Rocks broke loose from the surrounding slopes, rolling downhill.

Then the creature charged again.

This time, Kyrian raised both hands.

An enormous wall of ice rose before him, not a thin barrier like the previous ones, but a wall as thick as the fortifications of an ancient fortress. Kyrian poured an absurd quantity of ice Qi into it, layer after layer solidifying within seconds.

The lizard’s head collided against the wall.

Cracks instantly spread across the surface of the ice. The sound of the collision was deafening.

The ice endured for less than a second.

Then it exploded into thousands of brilliant fragments that flew in every direction like shards from a bomb.

But that less than a second was enough.

Kyrian took advantage of that moment.

The ground froze violently around the lizard’s paws. Thick layers of ice, not only on the surface but beneath it as well, spread across the beast’s body like frozen chains, attempting to restrict every movement.

White vapor rose in enormous quantities, forming dense clouds that partially obscured vision.

In the next instant, the lizard’s scales glowed with a brilliant, intense red.

The ice melted instantly.

Not gradually, not layer by layer, it simply vanished, transformed into vapor by the wave of heat emanating from the beast’s body. The monstrous heat coming from within the creature made even the ice created by Kyrian seem fragile.

Kyrian’s eyes glowed even more intensely.

His Qi circulated furiously through the two cores deep within his eyes.

An absurd quantity of ice energy began condensing around him.

The air grew drastically colder.

Frozen crystals began appearing in the volcano’s red sky, as though winter itself were being born within hell.

The lizard seemed to sense the danger.

Its magma-like eyes locked onto Kyrian, and something changed in its posture. What had once been a predator playing with its prey was now becoming a serious combatant.

The beast opened its mouth.

Magma erupted.

An incandescent torrent crossed the battlefield like a destructive river, vaporizing everything in its path. The heat was so intense that Kyrian could feel his skin tingling even from dozens of meters away.

Kyrian stomped his foot against the ground.

Five. Ten. Twenty.

Twenty ice barriers appeared simultaneously before him, each thicker than the last, each positioned at a different angle to disperse the impact.

The first ones evaporated instantly, transformed into vapor before the magma could even fully strike them.

The next ones exploded, shattering into fragments that fused with the stream of fire.

The last barriers cracked violently before being destroyed by the monstrous pressure of the magma.

Kyrian retreated without pause, using the smallest movements possible to evade the destructive waves. Every step is calculated and precise.

Even so, the heat reached his body.

Part of the sleeve of his blue robe began to burn, the edges of the fabric curling and turning gray. Even with Kyrian protecting himself from the heat using the cold from his eyes.

Kyrian felt the heat against his skin, not enough to burn him yet, but enough for him to know it was close.
