Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation

Chapter 576: Final Auction Items

Chapter 576: Final Auction Items

The silence between the two of them lingered naturally, like a tide advancing and retreating in its own rhythm. It was a peaceful, comfortable silence, built little by little through the trust that had been born between them during that conversation. A trust that did not need to be spoken aloud but revealed itself in every pause, every glance, every shared breath.

The most important words had already been spoken. Gao Ziyue had revealed the burden she had carried for decades, speaking about Azhura’k, about the Heart Demon that prevented her from advancing in her cultivation, about the guilt that remained bound to her soul like an invisible chain.

Kyrian, in turn, had offered neither impossible promises nor empty words of comfort. He had simply listened, understood, and accepted, and in that silent gesture, he had offered more than any speech ever could.

Seated on the spacious dark-blue sofa, Gao Ziyue delicately held the crystal wine glass between her fingers, her movements slow and contemplative. The Celestial Lirium Wine reflected the golden light of the spirit lanterns, creating tiny amber glimmers across the surface of the liquid, as though the wine itself contained stars within.

Every movement of the glass created a new pattern of light.

She slowly swirled the wine, watching the ripples form and fade away. The sweet aroma of the wine mingled with the delicate fragrance of the spiritual fruits spread across the table. Fruits that glowed with a light of their own, harvested from floating gardens where the Qi was so dense that even the most ordinary plants became extraordinary.

The atmosphere around them felt almost cozy, completely different from the commotion that filled the rest of the Sky Caravan, where thousands of voices overlapped in a chaotic symphony.

Without consciously realizing it, the distance between them had also grown smaller. When they had entered the room, both had instinctively chosen to sit at opposite ends of the sofa, maintaining an almost automatic formality.

However, as the conversation progressed, while they spoke about cultivation, forging, spiritual beasts, and finally about feelings far deeper than any of those topics, that separation had naturally disappeared.

Now, only a comfortable space remained between them. Neither close enough to cause embarrassment nor distant enough to feel formal. It was the perfect distance, the kind that allows intimacy without invading personal space, that offers comfort without suffocating.

The two wine glasses rested side by side upon the dark wooden table, as though they belonged to the same set, as though they had always been there. The wine in both glasses shimmered beneath the light, and the tiny reflections seemed to dance in perfect unison.

Beyond the enormous transparent window, thousands of cultivators filled the auction hall, a sea of faces and colors stretching as far as the eye could see. Despite the immense crowd, the room’s soundproofing made it seem as though everything was happening in another world.

People raised bidding plaques, merchants chatted enthusiastically, cultivators debated the merits of each item, and attendants walked between the rows carrying crystal trays.

But inside the room, there was only a distant murmur, almost imperceptible, like the sound of the sea heard from afar.

Kyrian calmly rested his arm on the back of the sofa while watching the stage below, his violet eyes wandering across the crowd with quiet curiosity.

It was a strange feeling. For the first time since arriving at the Sky Caravan, he was simply… resting. Not cultivating, not competing, not studying, not forging. Without the constant pressure to improve, to learn, to prepare for the next challenge. He was simply watching, allowing the moment to exist for its own sake.

Beside him, Gao Ziyue was also gazing over the auction hall, but there was a different light in her eyes. A light she never showed in public, one that was not part of the image of the Sky Heir.

She was relaxed. Her posture, usually straight and controlled, had become looser, more natural. Her shoulders, which carried the weight of an entire family, were lower, freer.

It was something rare. Since she was very young, she had borne enormous responsibilities as the Heir of the Sky Family. Every step, every word, every gesture was watched and judged.

She had learned to hide her emotions, to maintain a façade of perfection even when her heart was in pieces. Yet, at that moment, she no longer needed to play a role. She did not need to hide her emotions. She was not even using her illusion, that layer of energy that concealed her from the world. She was simply… being herself.

A few moments later, the elegant voice of the auctioneer echoed once more through the sound formation installed throughout the hall, cutting through the distant murmur with crystalline clarity.

This time, her tone carried a different solemnity, deeper, firmer, filled with an authority that announced the importance of what was about to come.

“Ladies and gentlemen…”

She paused briefly, her eyes sweeping across the crowd with the experience of someone who knew exactly how to hold the attention of thousands. The entire hall seemed to hold its breath, as though every person present had been waiting for this very moment.

“We have now reached the final stage of tonight’s auction.”

Immediately, a wave of anticipation swept through the thousands in attendance, a tangible energy that spread throughout the hall like an electric current.

Even through the glass, the change in the atmosphere was unmistakable. Bodies leaned forward, eyes widened.

Conversations came to an abrupt halt, as though an invisible blade had sliced through the sound itself. Every gaze converged upon the stage, each one filled with desire, hope, and ambition.

Even several cultivators who had been meditating slowly opened their eyes, their trancelike states interrupted by what was about to unfold.

Everyone knew what that meant. The greatest treasures, the rarest artifacts, the items capable of changing the fate of an entire family, would be presented now. Everything shown thus far had merely been the prelude, the introduction before the main symphony.

Gao Ziyue subtly straightened her posture, a movement so slight that it would have gone unnoticed by anyone else, but not by Kyrian. Her interest had finally been genuinely awakened.

“Now the truly interesting part begins.”

Kyrian turned his gaze toward her, a spark of curiosity flickering in his eyes.

“Weren’t the previous items interesting?”

She smiled faintly, a smile touched with amusement.

“They were good. Some were even excellent. But they were still only the warm-up, meant to whet the crowd’s appetite. The true treasures are always saved for the end. That’s the law of auctions.”
