Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation

Chapter 627: Alchemy Competition Final (4)

Chapter 627: Alchemy Competition Final (4)

Kyrian observed all of them for a few seconds, his perception capturing every movement, every decision, and every technique. Then he turned his attention to his own table, his mind settling into a state of absolute focus.

He was in no hurry. The golden letters of the incomplete recipe floated before his eyes, and Kyrian started from the beginning. He did not try to guess, did not choose herbs randomly, and did not immediately begin refining.

First, he memorized everything, every character, every symbol, every empty space, and every piece of preserved information. His memory recorded the incomplete recipe as if he were engraving an image into his mind, every detail fixed with absolute precision.

Then he moved on to the ingredients, one, two, three. His violet eyes began to glow faintly, Kyrian’s perception shifting to a deeper level.

To other alchemists, those were simply herbs. To him, they were structures with different flows, different patterns, and different natures that revealed themselves only to those who knew how to look.

Within each plant existed currents of spiritual energy, some linear and simple, others so complex that they intertwined like a tapestry.

Some concentrated their energy in the roots, others in the leaves, and others in the flowers. There were herbs whose essence was hidden within their seeds, waiting for the right moment to reveal itself. And there were those whose true properties only appeared after certain spiritual structures were destroyed, releasing energy that had previously lain dormant.

Kyrian examined each one without touching them, simply looking. He quickly found the seven herbs that appeared in the recipe, not because they were clearly indicated, but because their properties matched the description.

One of them served as the foundation, providing the fundamental structure for the pill. Another stabilized the energy, preventing it from dispersing. A third possessed extremely aggressive medicinal properties but needed something to neutralize them, a balance that could only be achieved through the correct combination.

Kyrian continued analyzing, and the pieces began to fall into place, one after another. The recipe was not merely a sequence of ingredients, it was a structure, a combination of properties that needed to be harmonized.

If one ingredient possessed an extremely hot nature, another needed to balance it with a cold nature. If one herb destroyed a certain spiritual component, another needed to protect the essence of the pill, keeping it intact. If an energy were released too early, the entire process would fail, the pill disintegrating before it could take shape.

Kyrian realized this quickly, his mind making connections that would take others hours to discover. His gaze passed over the ingredients again, then returned to the recipe.

‘So that’s how it is.’ He finally understood the first part. The problem was not discovering which herbs could be used but discovering why they needed to be used and what their function was within the overall structure. From that, the order would emerge naturally, each step leading to the next.

Kyrian separated the ingredients into groups, first, second, and third, while his mind continued working, filling in the gaps in the recipe with the logic of his understanding. He had not touched the cauldron, while other participants had already begun their refinements, their flames crackling and their herbs being processed.

Some spectators noticed Kyrian’s inactivity, whispers spreading among them.

“Isn’t that young man going to start?”

“He’s just been staring for several minutes.”

“Does he not know where to begin?”

“Perhaps he was frightened by a rank 6 recipe.”

Some laughter arose, but Kyrian did not react. His world had been reduced to the table, the herbs, the recipe, and the invisible relationships between them.

Little by little, his mind began reconstructing what was missing, first the structure, then the proportions, then the sequence.

Until finally, the answer emerged, a spark of understanding igniting in his eyes like a sunrise.

Kyrian placed his hand on the cauldron, and the black surface immediately responded to his touch. He took a deep breath, feeling the energy of the vessel beneath his fingers.

Three hours. For most of those present, it would be a race against time, a struggle to complete the test before the limit ran out.

For Kyrian, however, the greatest difficulty of the test was already over. He already knew what he needed to do. Now he only needed to turn understanding into action, knowledge into a pill.

His expression remained calm, a faint smile on his lips.

‘Let’s begin.’

The next instant, a violet bolt of lightning appeared above his palm, a spark of electricity dancing between his fingers before being directed toward the cauldron. The spiritual fire ignited, and, for the first time in the final, Kyrian began the refinement.

While Kyrian and the other finalists prepared to refine the pill, the elder responsible for the competition watched each one carefully. He knew the complete recipe, so he could distinguish those who were following the correct path, those who had found a similar approach, and those who were taking a completely new path, perhaps brilliant, perhaps completely misguided.

His gaze slowly passed over the twenty-five tables.

Some competitors had already made small mistakes.

Others were surprisingly close to the correct sequence.

And there were some who had interpreted certain properties of the herbs in a completely different way than expected.

The elder did not interfere. The test existed precisely to evaluate that.

At that moment, calm footsteps sounded behind him.

The old man turned and found another elder of the Association approaching.

“Elder Lio, you’re here.”

“Yes…”

Lio Han then looked at the finalists, easily finding the one who had come to watch.

His eyes stopped on Kyrian.

The young man had just ignited his spiritual flame, and small violet waves illuminated his face as he began preparing the first ingredients.

Lio Han smiled.

“I told you the boy had talent. Didn’t I? I believe he has a good chance of winning.”

The old man followed his gaze toward Kyrian and nodded briefly.

“He really is interesting.”

“Not just interesting.” Lio Han corrected him with a deeper smile.

“Watch carefully.”

The elder frowned slightly.

“Why?”

Lio Han did not answer immediately. He simply continued watching.

At Kyrian’s table, one herb after another began to be placed into the cauldron. The flame changed intensity with almost frightening precision, instantly adjusting itself to the needs of each ingredient.

The old man narrowed his eyes.

“He is…”

“Yes.” Lio Han murmured.

“It seems he already knows exactly what he is doing.”

The two remained silent.

At that moment, for the first time since the beginning of the final, the expression of the elder responsible for the competition changed.

There was anticipation in his eyes. Perhaps this final would be far more interesting than he had imagined.
