Chapter 446: Prettier When You’re Mad
Chapter 446: Prettier When You’re Mad
’Could she have a Dual Cultivation book?’ Li Lian wondered.
But she quickly dismissed the idea. The Matriarch was rarely in the presence of men—let alone alone with one. Still... she usually did wear her robes a little too loosely. For someone so stunning, the woman flirted like a ten-year-old boy. Li Lian shook her head, trying not to picture her Master attempting to seduce anyone.
’Nope, I don’t want that mental image.’
"Do you think you can tell her that for me?" Xiao Fang asked.
Li Lian crossed her arms, giving him a skeptical look. "That depends..."
Her green eyes narrowed as she tilted her head at him, a curtain of sleek black hair slipping over her shoulder. The emerald earring she wore caught the lantern’s glow, glinting with a soft, mesmerizing light.
As breathtaking as she appeared, there was an undercurrent of danger in the air—quiet, but impossible to ignore.
"When you said you would ’make Yu Qiuyan want to stay’—what exactly did you mean by that?"
"I’ll sleep with her," Xiao Fang replied righteously.
Li Lian blinked. Then blinked again.
"Ah... so you’ve chosen death."
She turned calmly toward the door. "Very well. Let’s go to the arena."
Xiao Fang smirked.
"Hahaha, my Love. It’s just for the sect," he replied shamelessly.
"Come, come, come. Enough talk. Let’s go to the arena now, you shameless bastard."
"Not even once?" Xiao Fang pushed purposefully.
Li Lian quickly turned to pinch the air in front of his smug face as if to silence him.
"I. Won’t. Even. Spare. Your. Ashes!" she said through gritted teeth, pronouncing every syllable with murderous intent.
Xiao Fang acted mad. "Ho ho... is that how you speak to your husband? If you think you can kill me that easily, then come try it."
"I will!" Li Lian replied as she stormed out of the guildhouse.
Xiao Fang laughed as he followed her out.
"Why do you look even prettier when you’re mad?" Xiao Fang asked. It was partly the reason why he enjoyed annoying her so much. That, and the fact that he wanted her to go all out against him.
"I’m not prettier," Li Lian shot back.
"You are."
"I’m not."
"You are."
"No."
"You don’t believe me?"
"I don’t."
"Maybe you’ll get even prettier if I piss you off even more."
Li Lian’s hair suddenly turned red, flames igniting over her robes.
"Do you want to die?!" Li Lian snapped.
Xiao Fang paused. "Wow. I was right. You did get prettier."
Li Lian angrily stomped repeatedly, then she shot a dangerously glaring glance at him before angrily walking away. Somehow that was the prettiest, most cutest thing he’d ever seen her do.
Now with a deep frown on her pretty face, she muttered inaudible curses under her breath, then mimicked his words in a high-pitched mocking tone before scoffing in frustration.
Xiao Fang smiled, but concealed it whenever she glanced back at him.
"Do you hate me now?" Xiao Fang asked.
"No," she replied.
"Do you love me?"
"Mhm, I love you," she replied, her tone getting a bit softer.
"Then prove it," Xiao Fang said as he suddenly stopped walking.
She looked back at him and saw the way he stretched out his arms as if welcoming a hug. Of course she loved him more than anything, but she was still angry at him. However, seeing the structure behind him, a devilish grin crept up her face when she suddenly had an idea.
"You know what? You’re right! How about I show you exactly how much I love you."
Without warning, there was a sudden flash of light, then her body erupted into flames. Xiao Fang leapt back, instinctively preparing to dodge. He braced himself just as the roar of her [ 1st Stage: Dragon Perception ] pulsed like a wave through his soul.
Her battle-power soared to the Divine Realm.
"Really? Are we doing it here?!" Xiao Fang asked.
Li Lian didn’t reply, she simply concentrated all her fire power to her arms. Then in the next moment, she let it all go.
A torrent of fire blasted from her arms. Xiao Fang dodged it with ease, but the structure behind him took on its full-force.
Boom!
Xiao Fang’s jaw dropped as he looked at the damage she caused to his property. The thing she was really aiming at wasn’t him, but the Nameless Guild’s guildhouse.
Suddenly, the entire guildhouse went up in flames, charring the walls black and tearing chunks from the structure.
The Nameless Guild sign was broken off, windows shattered.
Xiao Fang was at a loss for words.
Even though she had deliberately missed him, she stood proudly with her arms folded, pleased with the destruction she caused.
"That’ll send all the little hoes in your guild a message. You belong to me, got that?" she said with a pretty yet dangerous little smile on her face.
Although she felt jealous and threatened by his Royal Court mentor, she didn’t forget about all the girls he had kept up in that Nameless guild of his.
Xiao Fang took a long look at his guildhouse as the last of the flames were quickly extinguished by a strange formation. From what he could tell, the interior of the guildhouse remained untouched, but the exterior looked as if it had survived a devastating forest fire. Xiao Fang stared at the smoldering ruin in silence, unsure whether to be impressed or insulted.
’Divine Realm battle-power is no joke,’ he thought.
He already knew her battle-power had reached the Divine Realm some time ago—but seeing the sheer power and control behind a casual outburst like that still amazed him.
Looking at his burnt guildhouse, Xiao Fang was reminded of an old quote:
’If you play with more than one woman, your backyard will get burned.’ (Chapter 13)
Unlike the last time he pissed Li Lian off, this time he wasn’t homeless.
Xiao Fang finally approached her with an unreadable expression.
Li Lian didn’t move nor flinch even as he grabbed her by the neck. A fearless look in her eyes as she looked up at him, as if waiting to see what he was going to do.
Then Xiao Fang spoke.
"Let’s get one thing straight. You belong to me."
