Chapter 469: Stealthy Spear

Chapter 469: Stealthy Spear

"It disappeared!?"

The man’s eyes widened. Investigator Han had never mentioned that Xiao Fang’s spear could vanish into thin air.

’Was that how he got injured?’ he wondered.

’No matter,’ he thought coldly. ’Whatever trick that boy has, it’ll be useless against my shield.’

The Heavenly Fate Shield — a relic capable of drawing in any attack directed at its bearer. As long as he was facing it in the general direction of the attack, nothing could harm him.

He steadied himself, bracing for the impact from the spear, but it never came.

Silence.

A chill crawled up his spine.

’Did he miss? Impossible. I could feel it— I was well within his range. So where...?’ he thought.

Peering below, his eyes narrowed. Xiao Fang’s body was fading — but not into [ Stealth ]. His form was dissolving into a mist of Illusory Qi.

’A clone!? Then the vanishing spear was—’

His blood ran cold from the realization. He tried to spin around to search desperately for any trace of a [ Stealth ] user, but it was too late.

Xiao Fang was there — his foot pressed against the side of his head, twin sabers gleaming in each hand: one shrouded in an eerie dark glow, the other crackling with ferocious lightning. His eyes blazed with cold, merciless intent.

What followed was a storm of slashes — each strike faster than sight, carving through the air like silver lightning.

...

In the blink of an eye, the Heavenly Realm cultivator’s body was riddled with gashes — arms, legs, torso, even his neck and eye were sliced open, several fingers severed before he finally managed to shake Xiao Fang off. Each strike would have been enough to kill any Mortal Realm cultivator outright, yet not only did he survive, all of his wounds, including the wound on his neck were already beginning to heal.

No longer flying, the Heavenly Realm expert plummeted through the sky, clutching his bleeding neck. Rage twisted his face as he glared up with his remaining eye.

"You bastard!!!"

Xiao Fang only scoffed at the outburst.

’My body cultivation realm is still too low... Even my strongest sword strikes aren’t enough to kill a fool like him,’ Xiao Fang thought.

Drawing his spear once more, Xiao Fang infused it with his [True Immortal Lightning Tribulation] spirit attribute.

’Luckily... I still have this.’

Unexpectedly, the weapon began siphoning Qi from his Death Reaper dantian as well — the brilliant arcs of lightning darkening to a deep, ominous black. Then, with a thunderous surge, an overwhelming aura erupted from him, shaking the air itself.

Though his body cultivation was only at the Profound Realm, the power he drew from the Golden Beast Core—when channeled through his [ Javelin ] skill—rivaled the might of a peak Divine Realm body cultivator. Combined with his spirit attribute and the pull of gravity on his side, he thought even a Heavenly Realm cultivator would struggle to survive a direct hit from it.

The man below froze, terror spreading across his face as he stared at the lightning-wreathed spear aimed directly at him.

With a single, fluid motion, Xiao Fang hurled it down towards him — a streak of blinding black light that split the heavens as it fell.

The Heavenly Realm cultivator tried to raise his shield, but his body betrayed him — the severed tendon in his arm refused to obey.

"Fuck!" he cursed inwardly with gritted teeth.

He never finished the thought.

The spear tore through the clouds like divine judgment, piercing his chest and driving him into the earth below with cataclysmic force. The impact thundered across the forest, sending waves of dust, lightning, and Qi rippling through the air.

...

Xiao Hei and Li Xiang watched in stunned silence as violent winds surged toward them.

"Is that... really Long Wang?" Li Xiang asked, her voice trembling with disbelief.

Xiao Hei didn’t answer — she couldn’t. Her eyes were wide, unable to comprehend what she was witnessing.

Meanwhile, Xun Wei, who was much closer to the battle, had no time to be awed. She leapt from tree to tree, barely keeping ahead of the devastation Xiao Fang unleashed — everything within three hundred meters of the spear’s impact was reduced to ruin.

...

Xiao Fang didn’t linger. His gaze shifted upward, toward the rolling clouds above. A faint glint of lightning reflected in his eyes as he summoned a clone and launched himself skyward once more.

The Heavenly Realm cultivator had been struck down in less than a second. But Xiao Fang knew it wasn’t over.

Two more presences stirred above — their spiritual pressure weaker, yet their intent far sharper.

And that was what made them dangerous.

Xiao Fang had a strong feeling that the two of them together wouldn’t be nearly as easy to deal with.

For anyone else, the thought of facing two cultivators of the same realm at once would’ve been insane, especially disciples from the Heavenly Fate sect. But when had Xiao Fang ever concerned himself with the concept of fairness? Whoever stood in his way, would end up all the same.

[ Stealth ]

...

Meanwhile, on the floating pavilion above the clouds, the silver-haired disciple watched the scene unfold in disbelief — fists clenched, brows tightly furrowed. He didn’t want to accept the power contained within the Dragon Dynasty spear, yet he couldn’t deny what he had just witnessed.

"That young fool," he cursed under his breath.

The Heavenly Realm cultivator had been the only one capable of controlling the flying pavilion. Now that he was dead, its spirit formation would soon dissipate — until then, they were nothing but sitting ducks.

The quiet one’s eyes flashed, not yet realizing what had happened.

"I’ve reached Investigator Han. What should I tell him?" he asked.

The silver-haired man stood at the pavilion’s edge, staring down at the devastation Xiao Fang had wrought in a single breath.

His knuckles turned white from how tightly he clenched his fist, and when he finally spoke, his voice was cold and grim.

"Tell him... Yu Shenyi is dead."
