Naruto: The Wind Calamity

Chapter 920: Chapter 913 : Danzo's Death?

Chapter 920: Chapter 913 : Danzo's Death?

"Interesting," Akuro muttered. At that next moment, the lightning bolts and spears that had disappeared, reappeared inches around Danzo, at the same spots from where they had vanished moments ago! They continued moving towards Danzo with the same momentum!

Danzo's eyes widened, his pupils dilating sharply as something extremely bizarre unfolded in front of his eyes! Despite being inches away from death, Danzo's instincts failed to warn him of the danger until it had appeared.

As a ninja with a rich experience that spanned over five gruesome decades, Danzo had complete faith in his instinct. It was built through countless life & death experiences. For decades, it had never failed him. Yet, they seemed to have failed today. Danzo was so stunned that he couldn't help but wonder whether he was in a Genjutsu despite using Shisui's Mangekyou Sharingan. Unfortunately, he had no time to analyze.

In the blink of an eye, he was bombarded by lightning. Lightning ripped through his body, destroying all 11 Sharingans on his body while electrocuting him to death at the same time! The stench of burning flesh filled the air as Danzo's body collapsed to the ground!

The sight shocked the last remaining Root ninja momentarily, but he controlled himself very quickly. At the next moment, his blade fell from limp fingers, followed by a thin stream of blood trickling down his neck. Then, with eerie stillness, his head slipped from his shoulders, cleanly severed. His killer had returned to his previous position long before his head fell to the ground.

Finally opening his eyes, Akuro glanced at Danzo's burnt body as he analyzed, 'Just like Hiruzen and Orochimaru, his abilities are far different from my memories. Despite being caught completely off guard, he still used Izanagi just like how Obito did. His chakra changed the moment some sparks touched his body.

This is quite different from his fight against Sasuke. Since he isn't preemptively using Izanagi, I can't stall out the 1-minute time limit of Izanagi. I'll genuinely have to kill him 11, or perhaps 12 times to kill him for good. I suspect he won't be manually looking at his arm to see how many eyes are still open.

Sigh, this raises the difficulty considerably. The only silver lining is that I didn't plan on stalling. In any case, his reaction was rather pleasurable. A shame I couldn't watch it with my eyes, but I still felt his shock. Hehehe…'

When the Lightning bolts disappeared, they hadn't been extinguished normally. Instead, Akuro had used an advanced application of Space Time Ninjutsu. To bring them back, Akuro had merely reversed his earlier technique. That was why Danzo was caught off guard to such a degree and why his instincts failed to warn him.

Akuro chuckled, 'There's a lot more to Space Time Ninjutsu than what Tobirama created. Minato improved the Flying Thunder God jutsu but passed away before he could work on anything else. I wonder how far I will advance this enigmatic stream of Ninjutsu. I suppose that'll depend on whether I make it through the Fourth Great Ninja War…'

Akuro closed his eyes again, seals reappearing on his eyelids as he commented internally, 'Interesting…'

Danzo's burnt body disappeared as Danzo appeared some distance away. One of the Sharingans on his arm closed and a few burn marks from Lightning sparks were visible on his clothes, but there wasn't any injury on him. He glanced towards his last subordinate and felt some pity. He couldn't help but think, 'My Root is almost entirely finished… I'll have to restart from scratch…'

Akuro observed, 'The location where he reappeared was nearly 20 meters away from the spot where he died, even though the spot where he activated Izanagi was the same place where he died. This way, he can't be killed by preemptively striking the spot where he died. I wonder how far Obito can adjust his reappearance. If he can revive directly in his Kamui dimension, killing him will be quite difficult.

Anyway, Danzo's Izanagi's time limit is the same as I remember, 1 minute. If it was longer, I'd have to stay here for quite a while. Even though I don't have anywhere to go, the longer the battle drags, the greater the chances of external interference.'

Akuro muttered, "Turning reality into illusion and illusion into reality… Not bad at all. That's quite a Genjutsu. And, it only cost you an eye…"

Akuro wasn't stingy with his words. Izanagi was a jutsu that deserved all the praise. It was understandable why an 'old monster' would find it fascinating.

Danzo was slightly surprised as he analyzed, 'He hasn't heard of Izanagi?'

He thought for a bit and realized, 'I missed it earlier. If he had known of Izanagi, he wouldn't have stopped his attack. However, why hasn't he heard of such a powerful technique if he is an ancient expert? The Uchiha used this technique quite extensively at one point until it was declared forbidden.'

Once again, Danzo deepened his understanding of Akuro, or so he thought. He asked, "How did your Lightning jutsu reappear so suddenly?"

Now that he had time, Danzo began analyzing his 'death'. Not being warned by his instincts had given him quite a shock. Even though he appeared relaxed, he had raised his guard to the highest level.

Keeping his eyes on Akuro, he analyzed, 'Not just my instincts, my chakra field also failed to keep a track of those lightning bolts. It's almost the way Sensei and Minato appear with Flying Thunder God. Could it be an application of Space Time Ninjutsu?'

Even though he didn't understand what Akuro had done, he immediately managed to speculate it correctly thanks to his rich experience. Before he could analyze further, Akuro chuckled, "I had given this lesson to those lightning kids. Since you have shown me something interesting, I'll give you this lesson as well. I'm not sure how effective it'll be for you, but perhaps you may benefit from it in your next life."

Danzo frowned. This time, his instincts were warning him. He prepared himself while waiting to hear what Akuro was about to say. Akuro stated plainly, "When using Lightning, there are only two factors that matter - wildness and unpredictability. Lack in either and it doesn't matter how strong you are or how good your control over Lightning is, you'll never learn the true essence of manipulating lightning!"

Akuro's figure disappeared, leaving his words behind. Danzo didn't move, but his right eye trailed towards the sky, not allowing Akuro out of his sight. Danzo's brows furrowed as he saw Akuro floating 200 meters above in the sky, bringing his hands together. It was eerily similar to what Onoki would do before using Dust Release!

A dense chakra appeared between his hands and began rotating rapidly. Akuro's hands suddenly glowed with Lightning chakra as a massive amount of it mixed into the rotating dense chakra. In a few seconds, the dense chakra took form, transforming into a perfect sphere radiating an intense light!

Danzo's expression became heavy. Thanks to Shisui's eye, he could see how intense the lightning chakra concentrated within that small sphere was. He couldn't help but think, 'Such an intense jutsu. I don't think even Hiruzen can defend against it. However, how can he freely use such a heavy concentration of chakra? Would the Lightning Chakra Mode aid him? Or, would the jutsu take another form?'

Danzo observed the jutsu more carefully and felt something off. He analyzed, 'Such a chakra heavy jutsu can't be used more than a few times. Even if he doesn't know of Izanagi, he knows I can use it 9 more times. Why is he wasting so much chakra on a single jutsu? This is unlike the carefulness he displayed earlier. What is he scheming?'

'Saisho no Hikari'

Some of Danzo's questions were answered very soon as Akuro launched the jutsu while the rest would be answered in time. Much like the Kumo ninjas, his expression became peculiar on seeing how slowly the jutsu descended. He wanted to simply blow the jutsu back with a powerful Wind jutsu and be done with it. However, before he could put his thoughts into action, the bright sphere disappeared! Even the Mangekyou Sharingan couldn't follow it!

His feet remained frozen in place, unmoving as if anchored by fate itself; only his eyes shifted slowly and tensely, lowering to the ground from where he felt intense danger! The slow-moving radiant sphere, which had vanished unpredictability, now hovered inches away from his feet! It released an intense light in every direction!
