Netori: Stealing The Hero's Party!

Chapter 938: An Ancient Feud

Chapter 938: An Ancient Feud

A single breath was drawn, and Mono felt a sharp knife pressed to her neck. Quickly opening a small hatch on the back of her neck, she unveiled a mechanical eye and assessed the situation without turning. Staring right into the eye was Mesfer–the poison dragon descendant. His blade laced with poison and his eyes sharp as a viper, he intended to cripple her before the true assault on Elenaris began.

"You should’ve brought someone to watch your batch, cocky bitch," he grinned, running his knife across Mono’s throat.

The queen’s body went limp and fell over, her cape blanketing over her back. For a spell, the dragonborn cackled and waved his knife at his companions. The tension in their shoulders dropped as well, but then one of the soldiers’ mummers broke their vapid delusion.

"She’s not bleeding..."

"What?" As little knew the heroes about the chosen of the gods ruling other lands, so did these chosen know little about the chosen of their enemy. Their deity, Valcan, knew much about Mono, but the finer details had escaped through the cracks.

Thus, as the queen rose back to her feet with a snickering laugh, the chosen and their underlings watched in utter disbelief. Holding her belly as she couldn’t help laughing, Mono tried to break the cycle and get serious. Even so, running her finger through her neck, she smirked at Mesfer, who thought he could’ve sliced through her neck with a knife of all things.

"I suppose your god didn’t mention, or perhaps he didn’t know what I am?" He hadn’t, and he wouldn’t know even now, for Elenaria was preventing their god from seeing through their eyes inside of her territory. "In either case, let’s finish this quickly. I have to catch a ride to heaven with a little pink fairy."

"MESFER! GET BEHIND ME AND FOLLOW ORDERS, YOU FOOL!" Horus screamed, and in a flash, the dragonborn disappeared and reappeared behind the beastman.

"Whatever you say, old man," spitting venom with words, the demi-human growled through gritted teeth at the queen. "I’m gonna make her kneel, and then after I’m done having my fun, I will eat that bitch!"

"Save your degenerate musing for later," directing her wand at the queen, Kledia closed her eyes and waved her wand in the air, carving runes of beaming bright blue. "Keep her from me, I will bind her."

"You heard the lass," stomping his feet, Horus swung his halberd to direct the soldiers at their sole enemy. "Charge with me!"

Falling in their charge, a sudden mass erupted through the sandy grounds and knocked the soldiers like a whip. Sent flying into their own boats, boxes of equipment, and even the chosen, the dragonborns were either knocked unconscious in a second or had their bodies cut in half. Some dead, some barely living.

Dread spread through the beach as the horrific sight settled into the minds of the victims. Adrenaline was masking their pain, but with its effects slowly retreating, the hurt, oh the hurt! It was returning with a cold and biting vengeance. Some grabbed their own twisted feet, others cried tears, and howled for their spines were laid right out in front of them. The dead ones were the only ones who’d received any mercy.

Standing at the heart of such chaos, Mono waved her hand, and the thick mass of hair retreated back into the sands.

"Thank you for getting rid of the nuisance for me, Grace." Smiling at the trio of chosen as they struggled to get out of the piles of groaning soldiers, Mono beckoned them in. "You were worried about me being alone, right? How’s this then? One versus three?"

"THIS BITCH–" Cutting Mesfer’s words was a mechanical jingle spelling the word ’Kelidoscope’.

The next thing he knew, he was standing upright with his own knife to his throat. The other two watched with bated breath as Mono stood behind him, whispering in his ears.

"Does your poison work on you?" Slicking the dragonborn’s scaly neck proved somewhat difficult, but nothing the queen couldn’t handle with brute force.

Blood sprayed out like a shower and rained over the other two. Holding Mesfer firmly in her hands, however, Mono let the man thrash about as she tried to close his wound with his hands. Instead, however, in his desperation, he kept clawing at himself, deepening the wound. His legs dragged across the sand, forming deep grooves where his blood eventually began pooling in.

"I guess we won’t find out," as soon as his body stopped moving, Mono threw Mesfer on the ground and turned to look at the other two. "You two still wanna fight? I can make your deaths easy, sedate you for the required surgeries. Otherwise, I need at least one of you alive while I extract your organs and peel your skin. Flesh rots quickly if it’s not integrated quickly with bio-mechanical protocols."

The two glanced at each other, their eyes trembling with desperation. Their god had instructed them to sow chaos in the kingdom of iron, but he’d never mentioned the queen to be such a monster by herself. This distraction at the hero’s party helped them none. If anything, it showed them just how thoroughly outmatched they were. Which, in turn, made them wonder.

’We were sent as lambs to be butchers? There’s no way our lord didn’t see this happening!’ Thus, the two became the first to realize what these attacks were. Nothing more than a scheme to spew chaos, with them being their weakest pawns sent to die at the hands of the enemy.

"I will count to ten, and then I need an answer," Mono whistled, her hands folded and her feet tapping the ground.

The two dragons finally broke eye contact and looked at her. To the surprise of the male beastman, however, a sudden burst of energy exploded at the back of his head. Falling headfirst against a pile of bleeding soldiers, Horus looked through his weary eyes at the sight of his companions looming over him.

"I-I’m sorry, but I wanna live..." Kledia whispered, knocking Horus unconscious and offering herself to the queen as a slave or even a servant. As long as she stayed in the world of the living, it did not matter to her.

"Great," clapping her hand, Mono stepped forward and placed a hand on Kledia’s shoulder. "Thanks for the help. Butttt, if you betray me now, I will turn your body into a fuckdoll machine that people put coins into to get a quick load off."

Smiling at the terrified dragoness, Mono patted her on the shoulder–fully intent to turn her into a fucktoy in Daine’s establishment if she so much as lifted a finger in her direction. Thankfully, for her own sake, Kledia’s faith was already shattered. For a single woman had defeated their army with yawing ease–an army that had trained their whole lives and fought numerous battles.
