Chapter 480: Hello, i got bad fued with someone
Frequential power rippled around Xia Qingyue as six Nexus Cells shone brightly around her body.
"Grey," she called out, wearing a completely bewildered expression. "Where did you even find these realms from? They do not exist anywhere in this universe."
"Do not worry too much," Grey replied with a confident smile. "I am just built different."
"Uh-huh." Xia Qingyue was rendered speechless.
She had once doubted him during his second metamorphosis, wondering if he could truly cut it as a genius in the vast starry sky. Yet here he was, standing before her as the pioneer of a superior path he had forged himself, completely eclipsing all his peers. Not even the legendary thirty-year-old geniuses could match his current level of power.
His Nexus Saintly powers allowed him to buff anyone around him. More terrifyingly, he possessed the ability to convert inherent imperfections into absolute perfection. The hellish devils he had summoned and rewritten into holy Nexus Angels were prime examples.
Aside from that, he also seemed to possess a deep connection to the Heavenly Dao. She had felt the fluctuations herself. The resonance was unmistakable.
"Congratulations on officially entering my path. Now you can move around the universe freely without your soul dissipating," Grey said with a light chuckle.
"I honestly do not know what to say," Xia Qingyue muttered, still stunned. "Does that mean I will have to wait until you personally create the 6th Rank before I can advance?"
"Yep," Grey nodded. "I need to properly study the 6th Rank first. But I have plenty of supreme experts I can take inspiration from now, so it will not take long."
"Well, with that out of the way, what do you plan to do next?" Grey tilted his head and asked. "If you want, you can come live in the Dragon World with me and the others. Or do you plan on seeking revenge now that you are back on your feet?"
"Revenge... huh?" Xia Qingyue wore a bitter look as dark memories surfaced. "I am afraid revenge is not that simple. Not with my current power, and not even with my peak strength."
She stared Grey directly in the eyes. "Do you know of the Immortal Sovereign Palace?"
"Who is that?" Grey asked, genuinely clueless.
"That is my place of origin. I was born and raised there. The Immortal Sovereign Palace is a supreme faction independent of the main alliance. They loosely follow the alliance rules, yet they are strong enough to survive entirely without their help." Xia Qingyue gave a small, unpleasant smile. "There are two 8th Rankers presiding over the palace."
"Two 8th Rankers? Interesting," Grey was genuinely surprised. "Then why did I not see them when I visited the edge of the world?"
"They have bad blood with the human ancestors of the alliance. If a full-blown war breaks out, the ancestors of my palace would likely perish, but the collateral damage would be catastrophic. Hence, a fragile peace remains," she explained. "If I want to take my revenge, I will have to eliminate those 8th Rankers. They are an existence similar to the Daoist Palace. I simply do not know how to deal with them."
"Can you tell me exactly what happened to cause this bad blood?" Grey asked curiously.
Xia Qingyue fell silent. "I do not want to talk about this..."
"If you do not talk about it, do you plan on bottling things up forever and waiting until the universe naturally dies out?" Grey pushed gently.
"I wish I could do just that." Xia Qingyue slightly teared up. "What would you do in my place? What would you do when your fiancé betrays you, orchestrating the murder of your father and mother just to seize power in the palace? What would you do when no one believes your innocence, not even the ancient ancestor who watched you grow up?"
Her eyes grew moist as the raw grief resurfaced.
"Oh," Grey nodded in realization. "So it is like that."
"I was the most talented disciple in the sect, and my parents were the acting Palace Master and Mistress. Then, they brought in a branch family member who possessed a natural sainthood and a powerful immortal physique. He was incredibly kind to me. He treated me well and even explored the starry sky by my side."
"I once considered him something much more than a friend. I thought he was someone I could entrust my life to. But it was all a calculated ploy. He secretly colluded with the corrupt elders of the palace to dethrone my parents, framing them as traitors. The Immortal Sovereign Palace is orthodox to its very core. They accused my family of colluding with a hostile alien race, claiming we leaked the supreme cultivation techniques and allowed the aliens to infiltrate the palace grounds. A bloody battle raged for four nights and five days. In the end, the elders chose not to believe my parents and executed them without a second thought."
"This Soul Nourishing Jade was the only thing that managed to protect my remaining spiritual essence," Xia Qingyue finished, her expression dripping with bitterness.
Even though she was thousands of years old, she was still human. She still possessed a heart that could be broken.
"Do not worry. I will just tell the human ancestors to completely smoke the Immortal Sovereign Palace for you," Grey gave her a reassuring thumbs up.
He casually pulled out his cosmic phone. This device was given to him by the 8th Rankers earlier, pre-loaded with their direct contact numbers so he could reach them anytime.
"You... what?" Xia Qingyue was utterly dumbfounded by his casual reaction.
"I am just showing you some proper appreciation. You helped me immensely during my time on the Blue Star. I will never forget that," Grey said with a warm smile as he dialed the number.
Ring! Ring!
"That call came much faster than I expected. What can I do for you, Grey?" The Yellow Ancestor’s booming voice echoed from the speaker.
"I have a bad feud with the Immortal Sovereign Palace. Can you eliminate it for me?" Grey stared at the screen with a deadpan face and asked.
