Chapter 512: Alissa has been acting strange lately
Gaia was both excited and dumbfounded.
"You are welcome," Grey said with a small smile. "This much is nothing for me."
What he said was entirely factual. At the end of the day, he had already reached a state where not even the gods could match his raw power.
It wouldn’t be far-fetched to say that in terms of personal abilities, he stood at the absolute pinnacle. Of course, there were still the Primordial Paths. He had to be careful of them as well. He wanted to see how they worked and perhaps apply their principles to his own path.
"You are now free to roam around the universe. You also got access to the Star Spirit chat system, right?" Grey asked with a smile.
"I did," Gaia said, her eyes shining. "To think there was a function like this for Star Spirits."
"Yep," Grey nodded. "The universe is full of wonders. There are still a lot of things I don’t know about."
[And all this was created by your Core.]
Finality spoke lazily in his head.
’It is not my Core,’ Grey replied speechlessly.
[Since you own the Nexus energy, you might as well call yourself its owner.]
[No one can manipulate it without the power of Nexus after all,] Finality added.
’Fair point,’ Grey nodded.
"Well then, I will be heading off," Grey said with a smile as he teleported back into the central tower.
It had been a few days since he entered the Creator Space. The time he took on path simulation was substantial; even though it felt instantaneous to him, time in the real world was still moving.
As soon as he appeared, he saw Melissa and Angela talking to each other.
They seemed to be discussing something really important.
The instant he manifested, they both turned toward him.
"You are back," Angela spoke up. "Grey, there is something we want to talk to you about."
"What is it?" Grey inquired curiously.
Angela and Melissa nodded at each other before speaking. "It is about Alissa..."
"She’s depressed?" Grey was dumbfounded. "You might have the wrong idea. She is the cold and emotionless type. Sometimes her natural demeanor might just come off as being depressed."
"It is not like that. Don’t I know my own daughter?" Melissa said while shaking her head. "As a True Source Dragon, I can see what is wrong with my daughter very clearly."
"She isn’t interacting with us or anyone else. She just stays in those Zen gardens you created, walking around idly all day after waking up."
"Hm. I will talk to her," Grey said with a nod.
Angela and Melissa beamed instantly.
Soon, Grey vanished, and the two mothers clapped their hands together in excitement.
"It worked. But it does seem like he cares about Alissa. That is a very good sign," Melissa said with a relieved sigh.
"Yeah," Angela agreed, nodding.
These two mothers were, in fact, actively matchmaking their kids.
It was unquestionable what they were trying to do. But what they said was also true. Alissa did seem down for a while now.
Whoosh!
Grey’s figure materialized in one of the Zen gardens. There, Alissa sat on a wooden bench among the vibrant flowers and lush trees. Her pure white hair fluttered gently in the wind as she just stared at the blooming flora with absolutely no emotion on her face.
But what she hadn’t noticed was that from afar, an entire crowd of men had gathered, silently observing her with mesmerized looks on their faces.
"Damn, the Nexus Domain is truly the best planet. They even got a top-tier beauty as an attraction in the Zen garden. I have been frequenting this place recently, and every time, I see this beautiful dragon maiden."
"I don’t want to leave the Nexus Domain anymore. I literally spent my last cosmic credits to buy a house here just to see her every day."
"Does anyone want to go talk to her?"
"Who would dare? She is a terrifying powerhouse. She beat up some arrogant young masters the other day, and she didn’t even lift a finger to do it."
"Interesting."
Grey hovered in the air, listening to their chattering. He couldn’t help but chuckle.
He wasn’t afraid of someone trying to take advantage of Alissa; she was more than strong enough to handle herself.
He clapped his hands, and a shimmering spatial barrier instantly formed around the inner Zen garden, isolating them. Alissa keenly noticed the shift in space and turned her head to look at Grey, who had already landed right beside her.
"Can I sit here, my wife?" Grey asked with a playful, teasing smile.
"Who is your wife?!" Alissa glared sharply at Grey. "Stop calling me that."
"But you are the one who boldly declared that you wanted me to become your mate so we could make healthy dragon babies," Grey added with a perfectly innocent look on his face as he took a seat beside her.
"Y-You!" Alissa’s expression immediately grew heavily flustered when she heard this. With an annoyed, embarrassed look, she tried to stand up and leave. However, Grey gently grabbed her wrist and pulled her back down onto the bench.
"Come on, let’s talk," Grey said with a small, calming smile. "I promise I won’t call you my wife... at least until our conversation is over."
"..." Alissa ground her teeth upon hearing this, but she didn’t try to stand up again.
"How do you like the garden? You have been frequenting it a lot recently. Do you like it?"
"This garden... I completely copied its layout from the home planet of the Arclight family. It is really good. That is exactly why I added it in."
Alissa just hummed softly in response.
"I heard you haven’t been talking to the others recently. Is your Idol stuff not going well?"
"I haven’t gotten a single call from the agency since I came here, and the same goes for Julie and Miwa. It is probably because of you," Alissa said softly. "But I kind of don’t want to do the idoling anymore. I initially only joined it to escape from the Dragon Clan. To get away from that solitary confinement-like room they put me in after I was forced to go back to them."
"But, you took care of the dragons for me," Alissa added as she slowly turned her eyes to Grey.
"I just did what I had to do," Grey replied with a small chuckle.
Alissa hummed softly as a reply once again.
"So, why are you not talking to anyone? Why are you spending all your time alone in this garden? Your mother said you have been like this for a while now."
