Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 600: Angel Of Chaos

Chapter 600: Angel Of Chaos

Grey dismantled the final node of the Eternal Chaos Heaven Lock Array, rotating it into perfect alignment. The last rune clicked into place with a soft hum, followed by complete silence.

Then everything shattered.

CRACK!

The entire formation fractured like glass, every rune exploding into countless fragments of light. The surrounding reality began glitching far more violently than before, entire landscapes appearing and disappearing in rapid succession. Grey, Alan, and Alissa witnessed echoes of the past flickering around them.

A group of cultivators appeared, screaming as time suddenly reversed around them.

"No!"

"Time reset again!"

Another powerful expert materialized, shouting desperately while reality collapsed beneath his feet.

"We can’t leave this universe!"

"It controls space and time!"

Someone else appeared, desperately attacking an invisible enemy.

"Destroy the Codex!"

"It is the source of all!"

"The Codex." The instant he heard the term, Grey narrowed his eyes.

Then, the following instant, everything suddenly became quiet, and the glitching stopped completely.

And at the center of the chamber, an enormous creature suspended itself.

It was a colossal white eye. Multiple golden rings slowly rotated around its form.

Six enormous wings made entirely of State Power extended outward from the back of the eye.

Above it, endless numbers constantly flowed across its iris like living equations.

Then, the eyelid of the creature abruptly opened, looking at Grey and Co.

"35,550,336. It has been that many cycles." From it, an ancient and desolate voice boomed.

As the voice fell, the place they were in trembled with overwhelming pressure.

"Another one has arrived to obtain the Chaos Emperor’s Source Codex."

"I’ve noticed you, Young One." The eye spoke to Grey. "You escaped my resets, you escaped them every single time."

"Tell me, do you think you can take the Codex away from me?" The eyelid asked.

"Yes." Grey answered with a nonchalant look on his face.

The eye laughed upon hearing this.

"Thirty-five million, five hundred fifty thousand, three hundred thirty-six."

"That is how many cycles I have witnessed."

"The same ambition, the same greed, the same ending."

"You will suffer the same fate as those who tried to obtain the Chaos Emperor’s powers."

"Every one of them believed they would succeed, but every one of them died in my hands."

"Not because they were weaker, but because this universe and the Source Codex are my domain!"

Boom! The golden rings around the eyelid began to rotate faster as he said that.

"The Chaos Source Codex resonates with me, granting me the immense power of the Chaos State."

"Every death, every failure, every destruction in this universe is hence dictated by me."

"Even a twelfth rank Ascendant perished beneath my gaze."

"And you think you can stop me and take the source away?"

"Remember my name. Angel of Chaos. I will be the one that will take your life."

BOOM!

Boundless energy erupted from it.

"No one can separate me from the State, for I have become one with it."

"The moment I completely comprehend the Source Codex, I shall transcend."

Grey looked at it with a frown.

It knew about the Ascendant domain?

However, just then, the eye immediately attacked without warning.

A compressed beam of frozen time shot forward, the air itself crystallizing along its path. Grey dodged sideways, the beam grazing his shoulder. His entire arm instantly aged several decades before rapidly reversing, his Source flickering between states.

Grey’s expression became pale. By now, it was clear that temporal resets and changes happening were related to the Chaos State.

And right now, the only way to deal with this thing was with the help of Axiom Power!

Boom! Crackle!

Grey activated Nexus Overclock to 2000%, which was his new limit.

Luminous circuit patterns spread across his body as he launched forward, his fist wrapped in Divine Thunder.

Boom!

The punch connected with the eye’s surface, Divine Thunder erupting across its body. The guardian recoiled, its golden rings spinning violently.

SHING! SHING! SHING!

The eye’s six wings expanded, releasing countless spears of pure Chaos State Power. Each spear erased the laws themselves rather than destroying matter, leaving empty voids in reality.

Grey weaved between the attacks, his enhanced speed barely keeping up. One spear grazed his side, instantly erasing a section of his Source. Pain shot through his body immediately after.

CRASH!

Grey slammed his palms together, creating a massive Nexus barrier. The remaining spears collided with it, each impact sending shockwaves through the chamber.

Grey then pushed off the ground, Axiom Power surging around him. Reality glitched violently as he closed the distance.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

He unleashed a rapid combination of strikes, each one carrying both Divine Thunder and Axiom Power. The guardian’s body cracked under the assault, luminous fractures spreading across its surface.

The golden rings around the eye suddenly accelerated.

VWOOM!

Time froze around Grey, locking him in place. The Space Ring followed immediately after.

Dimensions folded, redirecting Grey’s momentum. He found himself thrown backward, crashing into the chamber wall.

Then another golden ring moved, releasing a wave of pure annihilative power.

The attack consumed everything in its path, reality itself disintegrating. His barrier shattered instantly the moment the attack landed.

Grey gritted his teeth, seeing this.

This thing, as it said, was way too powerful in here; he couldn’t use his Hell Portal either.

"I’ll unleash 2100%." Grey gritted his teeth and overclocked beyond his limit without hesitation.

Boom!

His figure sped up drastically with the 2100%, and he reappeared behind the guardian.

He thrust his hand forward, which was wrapped in overwhelming overclocked Axiom Power.

BOOM!

The strike penetrated deep into the eye’s body, Divine Thunder spreading through its internal structure. The guardian’s massive form convulsed violently, entire sections cracking apart.

However, its golden ring accelerated once more as time rewound again.

VWOOM!

Everything restored instantly, the wings reforming perfectly.

But it was also a good thing for Grey. He could reuse Nexus Overclock beyond his limit once again without taking damage.

"You bastard! You left out such an obvious loophole!" Grey shouted with laughter as he shot towards the eye once more.

Boom!

2200%

Crackle!

The world crackled with power as his punch landed. The entire world flashed black and white at his punch.

The eye immediately shot back a few light-years in an instant.

"You bastard, you will pay for this!"

The eye shouted, enraged, as it rewound time again, but this time, he didn’t give Grey time to activate Nexus Overclock.

But who was Grey?

"Time stop." His voice fell as the world froze.

His Nexus Energy was being expended a lot, but this small time freeze was enough to move away.

With one move, he stepped right below the eye’s head.

He raised both his fists and began punching as the timeline restored once again.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Each punch created shockwaves that tore through space, Divine Thunder and Axiom Power combining explosively. The guardian’s body couldn’t withstand the assault, massive chunks breaking away.

The eye released a desperate counterattack, all six wings converging.

VWOOM!

A massive sphere of compressed State Power formed, growing larger with each second. Grey immediately stepped forward, creating layer after layer of barriers.

SHING! SHING! SHING!

BOOM!

The sphere detonated, the explosion consuming half the chamber. Grey’s barriers shattered one by one, but they held long enough to protect everyone in the space.

Grey slowly emerged from the smoke with his body glitching due to the massive damage his Source took.

He had taken significant damage from the blast, but Nexus Energy was already healing him.

The guardian attempted to rewind time again.

VWOOM!

Its injuries began reversing, but Grey noticed something crucial. The rewind was slower this time, taking several seconds instead of being instant.

The instant he noticed it, he also noticed something else.

"It’s a connection." Grey’s eyes widened.

"He’s not controlling the State Power."

"He’s just borrowing it from the Chaos Source Codex!"

The instant he spoke that, the eye froze.

Panic flickered across its voice. "Stop running away, kid! I will kill you right now!"

But Grey was already smiling.

Since this was a connection, then he simply needed to... cut it off!

And what was the best power to do that?

Nexus Energy!

Grey immediately activated the supreme transcendental power, his Nexus Axiom Power.

HUM!

The energy didn’t attack the guardian directly; instead, it formed countless thin threads. Grey wove them through reality, targeting the invisible resonance line connecting the eye to the Chaos Source Codex.

The eye panicked. "Impossible, you can perceive resonance?"

"Not only that. I can also sever it." Grey chuckled.

SNAP! SNAP! SNAP!

The Nexus Threads began cutting through the connection, one strand at a time. The guardian desperately launched every attack it possessed.

VWOOM! WARP! WHOOOM! BZZT!

Time froze, space warped, destruction waves erupted, and chaos distorted reality. Grey pushed through all of it, his body taking massive damage.

CRASH!

One wing strike sent him flying backward. Another attack aged his left arm centuries, the Source withering.

BOOM!

Grey realized that this was not enough. He needed to push it down even more.

But it was a suicide attempt. If he wasn’t wrong, to deal with this situation, he needed 3000% Nexus Overclock.

And that would strain his Source so much it could potentially overload, and he could get severely injured.

At that moment, something awakened inside Alissa, who was watching this scene with a helpless gaze.

FLASH!

An endless silver radiance erupted from her body, filling the entire chamber. The power completely blocked the guardian’s attacks, neutralizing them effortlessly.

BOOM!

The two forces collided, the silver light overwhelming everything. Even the guardian became terrified, its massive eye widening.

Grey immediately noticed the familiar aura.

"That aura..."

The guardian stammered. "Impossible, Infinity?"

"Infinity? Ouroboros?" Grey shouted, and as he did, the power of Infinity surged into him.

A voice echoed into Grey’s mind.

"Use my power... make your overclock reach 3000%, I shall support you!"

Grey opened his eyes in shock.

It really was Ouroboros!

"Thanks," Grey shouted as he fused with the power.

Boom!

The Nexus circuits flared up around his body like a ticking bomb, constantly blinking as he pushed his Overclock to 3000%.

CRACKLE! CRACKLE! CRACKLE!

He combined Dao Shattering Divine Shock with Nexus Axiom Power as the power of perfection filled the air.

Reality glitched violently around him as if struggling to process his existence, which was exhibiting power way beyond the 1st level of the 10th rank.

BOOM!

Grey struck with everything he possessed, his fist connecting with the guardian’s core.

Divine Thunder spread through its entire body, Axiom Power rewriting its fundamental existence.

Simultaneously, the Nexus Threads cut through the final strand.

SNAP!

The resonance broke, the sound echoing through dimensions.

CRASH!

The Angel of Chaos’s body froze completely, its rings stopping their rotation.

The reality began to flicker and destabilize the following instant.

"N-No way..." Those were the final words of the eye as its existence flickered out.

SHNNN!

Then, at the center of the space, the Chaos Source Codex finally revealed itself fully. It floated above the spot where the guardian had been, radiating overwhelming Chaos State Power.
