Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 675: Infinite Branches and Infinite Lifespan?

Chapter 675: Infinite Branches and Infinite Lifespan?

The world around Grey suddenly distorted as reality began branching in every direction, with countless possibilities forming around him like an infinite web. Each branch produced more branches, and every branch created even more possibilities beyond that, causing the complexity of the phenomenon to become overwhelming.

Grey’s mind struggled to keep up as the phenomenon expanded without limit. His processing capabilities were being pushed to their absolute edge, and for a moment, he thought his consciousness might shatter from the strain. However, as he continued observing the phenomenon, he suddenly realized what he was seeing.

"These are... other timelines?"

Possibilities stretched before him in every direction, showing different outcomes, different paths, and different versions of reality itself, all existing simultaneously within this strange space. Nothing was established here, and nothing was certain. Everything existed as pure potential until an outcome was chosen.

As Grey continued trying to understand what he was seeing, his Nexus Physique suddenly blinked.

Before Grey could fully understand what was happening, his entire existence leaped through one of those possibilities. The infinite branches collapsed around him, and reality snapped back to normal as though nothing had happened.

Grey’s eyes went wide.

"No way."

At that exact moment, Finality’s voice echoed in his mind.

"Grey, what happened? I lost contact with you for a moment. It was almost as if you ceased to exist entirely."

Hearing this, Grey fell silent as his comprehension immediately began piecing together what had just occurred. The realm of possibilities, that was what he had entered. It was a place where countless outcomes existed at the same time, where nothing was truly real until it became real.

His Nexus Physique had somehow navigated through those possibilities and shifted him toward a higher outcome.

"Is this the complete form of the Fateless Physique?"

Grey already knew his Fateless nature had a connection to the Nexus. The Past One and Future One were related to concepts involving time and probability, so it made sense that his own existence would connect to something similar.

But directly entering the realm of possibilities?

That was something else entirely.

As Grey continued thinking about it, his mind raced with the implications. If he could learn to control this ability, he could theoretically become almost impossible to kill. An enemy could attack him, and instead of taking the hit, he could enter the realm of possibilities and move toward an outcome where the attack never happened.

He wouldn’t be surviving through regeneration, nor would he be blocking the attack through defense. He would simply be choosing a possibility where the attack never reached him in the first place.

The thought left Grey stunned.

But that wasn’t all that had changed.

With that realization in mind, Grey turned his attention inward and examined the rest of his transformed abilities. His True Source Dragon Defense and Primordial Human Transformation had merged together, creating an absurd level of defensive power that surpassed anything he had possessed before.

The fusion had also created something new.

Something called Existence Regeneration.

Unlike normal healing or regeneration, this ability restored his entire existence. His Source, his soul, his body, and the fundamental structure of his being could all be recovered through this power.

At the same time, his Devouring ability had also evolved. The Lesser Heaven Space within him had transformed into an infinitely stretched world. It could devour anything now, and it operated with far greater efficiency than before.

Grey exhaled slowly.

The Nexus Physique was beyond anything he had imagined.

After examining his changes, Grey descended from the sky and found Ouroboros already waiting with Aria beside her. The ancient dragon’s golden eyes studied him carefully as he landed.

"How did it go?"

"Huge success." Grey smiled faintly.

Hearing his answer, Ouroboros frowned.

"Strange. I felt you disappear for a moment."

Grey’s expression didn’t change.

He had no intention of telling her about the Nexus Physique. Not yet. Nobody could know about this ability until he understood exactly what it was and what it could do.

"Must have been the transformation," Grey said casually. "It was pretty intense."

Ouroboros studied him for a long moment before slowly nodding.

"Do you still have your Infinity Powers?"

"Yeah, they’re still there."

Hearing the question, Grey began wondering about that very thing. Had Infinity Power played a crucial role in achieving the Nexus Physique? It might have even been one of the main ingredients.

He also had Finality.

The combination of Infinity, Finality, and his Nexus-related Fateless Physique may have been what ultimately allowed the Nexus Physique to form.

All three concepts working together.

Endless existence, absolute ending, and freedom from fate itself.

As Grey continued thinking about it, Ouroboros’s voice pulled him from his thoughts.

"We need to learn more Infinity-based techniques. You and Alissa currently only know Infinity Barrier and Infinity Mind."

Grey raised an eyebrow at her words.

"What other techniques are there?"

"Several important ones." Ouroboros smiled faintly. "Alissa has deliberately been holding back from learning them. She wanted to wait for you so that you could train together."

Hearing this, Grey’s expression softened.

It was so typical of her to wait for him simply because she wanted to stay close. Even training, she prioritized being by his side over her own advancement.

"Alright," Grey agreed. "Let’s get her and start training."

With that decided, they found a suitable room within the facility and contacted Alissa through their connection. It didn’t take long for her to arrive, her blue hair flowing behind her as she walked through the door.

The moment Grey saw her, he moved forward without hesitation and wrapped his arms around her body, pulling her into a tight embrace and kissed her forehead.

Alissa’s face immediately turned red.

"W-What are you doing?" She tried to push him away. "Ouroboros is right there!"

Seeing her reaction, Grey grinned.

"I missed my cute wife."

Hearing those words, Alissa’s face flushed even deeper. She stopped struggling and simply stood there, her hands gripping his shirt as embarrassment flooded her expression.

"You’re so shameless."

Seeing the two of them, Ouroboros coughed loudly from behind them.

"Alright, let’s begin."

Ouroboros looked at Grey and Alissa before asking, "What do you guys know about Lifespan?"

"Lifespan, huh?" Grey appeared thoughtful. Lifespan was essentially one of the fundamental building blocks of all living beings.

Seeing Grey’s reaction, Ouroboros nodded.

"Yes. Today, I will teach you both how to make your lifespans endless and infinite."

Hearing this, both Grey and Alissa looked bewildered.

Achieving an infinite lifespan?

It was something neither of them had ever considered possible.

"But don’t get me wrong. Infinite Lifespan does not mean you cannot be killed."

Ouroboros paused for a moment before continuing, "You are both nowhere near that level yet. However, Infinite Lifespan is still an extremely powerful ability. It will make your existence vastly more difficult to exhaust through the passage of time."

With that, Ouroboros continued, "After I teach you Infinite Lifespan, I will teach you another application of Infinity called Infinite Communication."

She then instructed both Grey and Alissa to sit cross-legged, and after hearing this, the two of them followed her instructions and sat down.

"Now, visualize the power of Infinity and begin manipulating it within your minds."

Hearing her instructions, both Grey and Alissa focused their minds and began visualizing Infinity. Seeing that they were following her instructions correctly, Ouroboros smiled.

"Now, push your Infinity Power directly into your Sources. Envelop your Sources completely with Infinity Power, and then make that Infinity Power permanently circulate within your Sources rather than only activating it when you consciously use your abilities."

Hearing this, both Grey and Alissa stopped.

Alissa opened her eyes with a baffled expression.

"How are we supposed to accomplish that?"

Permanently making Infinity Power circulate through the Source was far more difficult than simply activating Infinity whenever they wanted to use it. Even Grey could not currently accomplish this naturally.

Even his Axiom Energy remained inactive when he was not deliberately using it. If he wanted it to constantly operate in the background, he would have to consciously maintain it or think about keeping it active.

Seeing their difficulty, Ouroboros seemed to have anticipated this problem. After thinking for a moment, she finally explained, "This is exactly where your Infinity Minds come into play."

"The Infinity Mind actually was made for making your lifespans infinite."

"You just need to portion of a subconsciousness mind matrix part to keep it running."

"I know. It might seem like a gimmick but well, you guys aren’t really that powerful for true infinite lifespan."

"But as long as you use this. It will do the same thing in essence."

"As for you, Grey. Try branching out a server and use that server as the processor to upkeep the functioning of Infinity Power."

"If we have data on it, you can use your special frequency technique that u have to feed that information to Alissa to make it easier for her to do it as well."

At her words, he glanced at Alissa.

He wished he could make her a server too. But as his previous experiment with Alan suggested. One could enter it but they couldn’t form a Spiritual Conduit to anchor themselves.

But he had already decided before that he was going to copy mecha Race’s Racial data to form a breakthrough into the information layer and in turn help both Alissa and Alan enter the Information Layer. It’s just that he had never encountered one yet.

Then he remembered Jasmine, she encountered their fleet once. Perhaps, it was time to finally pay her a visit.
