Chapter 691: The True Scale Of Red Realm
Chapter 691: The True Scale Of Red Realm
Had he pinned down something on the same level as Lily's father?
Doesn't that mean he doesn't even need to lay low?
Wait, that seemed wrong.
Grey searched for more details and opened a guide that compared the ranks across different evolutionary paths. He reached the section on the 13th Rank and stopped.
Three sub-levels.
Each had its own progression, and the difference between them was far greater than he had assumed.
Grey read the section again before leaning back in his seat.
"So that was it."
The Overseer had reached the peak of the third sub-level, placing him at the true limit of the 13th Rank. The worm had only reached the peak of the first.
Grey had judged its strength without knowing there were further divisions inside the same rank.
Grey rubbed his chin as he looked back at the Overseer's record.
"No wonder I couldn't cross that gap of 14th rank. There wasn't one there to begin with."
On that note, His strength had not even crossed into the second sub-level yet.
It was just infinitely approaching it.
A peak first sub-level 13th rank wouldn't be able to touch him and at the same time, someone at the second sub-level could easily fight him.
Just how much power did an evolver need to move between these sub-levels?
Grey shook his head and closed the guide.
At least he understood the problem now.
His own path had only reached the peak of the 10th Rank, yet his combat strength already belonged within the 13th. There was no reason to become discouraged because the next gap was larger than expected.
He needed to start working on the 11th Rank now. There was no time to waste.
Before that, he still had something else to check.
Grey returned to the Information Layer and searched for recent ascensions from the lower realms.
He looked for missing arrivals and reports from the Myriad Realms Sect, then checked the notices posted by the local travel halls.
There was nothing about his group.
Grey clicked his tongue and let the results fade.
In the end, Grey saved the few useful travel offices and brought up a map of the surrounding region.
The Red Archipelago appeared before him. That was where he was in right now.
Sunbringer City occupied a small point on one of its islands.
Grey enlarged the map, expecting the island to take up most of the region. Instead, more islands appeared around it until they filled the display.
He selected the one near the city and checked its scale.
"This was one island?"
Its size was comparable to an entire universe.
Grey looked out through the clear wall at the distant edge of the city, then returned to the map. Sunbringer City itself covered an area on the scale of a planet.
Yet on the island map, it remained a small mark near the mountain range.
He dragged the view across the surrounding land.
Forests covered vast areas between rivers and inland seas. Other cities appeared far apart, along with small faction/sect grounds and territories held by powerful groups. Well they were not as powerful as the Myriad Realms Sect.
There were plenty of factions on the island, but their settlements occupied only a small portion of its land.
Grey opened the population records and quickly understood why.
There were not enough evolvers here to fill cities stretching across galaxies, nor was there much reason to build them that large. Vast stretches of land were more useful as sources of materials and places for training.
Sunbringer City had already gathered a large population by serving as a trade and travel hub.
Even then, it had room to grow.
Grey thought back to the forest where he had arrived.
He had treated it as a large stretch of wilderness, but that place might have occupied no more than a tiny corner of this island.
And someone had sealed it behind a 13-Star array.
He marked its rough direction without sending a search through the public network.
That could wait.
For now, he compared the island's scale with the strength he could use under the Higher Realm's stabilization.
Flattening an ordinary mountain here was easy after his latest advancement.
An ordinary mountain here was the size of a galaxy.
Drowning this entire island was another matter.
Grey studied the records of large battles and the damage left by evolvers near the top of the 13th Rank. After comparing several accounts, he gave a slow nod.
He would probably need to reach the peak of the third sub-level before attempting anything on that scale.
The gap between destroying a mountain and sinking a universe-sized island made the earlier rank descriptions much easier to understand.
Grey drew the map farther back.
The archipelago shrank beneath him as more regions appeared beyond its seas. He continued until the display finally showed the larger world they belonged to.
A vast sphere turned before him.
The Red Realm, It was a planet.
A Higher Realm planet with universe-sized islands and even more bigger continents.
Grey let out a short laugh as he looked at the image.
He had traveled across countless worlds below, only to arrive somewhere that placed all of that scale inside a single landmass.
He selected the routes leading away from the planet and found several higher pathways connecting it to other parts of the Higher Realm. One branch eventually led toward Zenith Heaven.
Grey followed it until the public map stopped providing details.
There were other planets beyond the Red Realm, and reaching them required more than simply leaving the atmosphere.
Some pathways were held by powerful sects. Others passed through regions where control changed often enough for the map to display travel warnings.
Grey opened one warning and found a notice about a route closed after a clash between two factions.
A second showed an island where several groups were fighting over a newly opened resource site. Farther down, another notice warned merchant vessels away from a disputed crossing.
The Higher Realm certainly had no shortage of people fighting over territory.
Despite that, Grey found the overall layout easier to follow than he had expected.
It worked much like the Endless Reality in the ways that mattered to a traveler. People gathered around resources and safe routes, while powerful groups controlled access to the places everyone wanted to reach.
The dimensions and scale had changed, but he could at least understand how to move through it.
Grey saved the regional map and returned to the view of Sunbringer City.
Two local powers worked for the Myriad Realms Sect, and one of them handled exchange of resources. Visiting the Boundless Exchange should be his next step.
He ended his connection and stood up.
The training room opened as he approached, revealing a wide floor surrounded by pale lines. Grey checked the privacy controls and watched the outer layer seal behind him.
Fragment emerged beside his shoulder.
"Should I keep watch, Grey?"
Fragment wanted Grey to focus on himself and avoid any distractions. The recent incident had also shocked the Fragment. Hence, getting stronger was their current priority.
"No need." Grey replied with a smile. "It'll be fine. I am going to use the information on the 11th rank in this world and refine the 11th rank."
