Chapter 5352 Move On

The ground erupted, sending shockwaves through the air as violent qi waves surged outward, blasting the devil army away. Seeing the oncoming force, the Hidden Dragon Legion reacted instantly.

“Wind defense!” they shouted in unison.

They executed the strongest defensive technique Long Chen had taught them, condensing all their wind energy into a powerful barrier. The violent qi waves hammered against it, causing the barrier to tremble and groan under the pressure. Even Emperor-level devil creatures were thrown back by the force of the waves.

“What is going on?” Long Chen muttered, surprised by the sudden explosion of energy.

His divine sense extended outward, and he soon spotted an altar surrounded by thousands of devil creatures.

At the center of the altar, an elderly bone devil waved a bone staff over a broken egg. Standing within the remains of the egg was a man with disheveled hair, his expression furious. Long Chen immediately understood what had happened. It seemed that they had activated the altar to awaken the man in the egg, who was exuding the familiar aura of a Heaven Devil. Long Chen had seen it countless times in the Endless Desolation.

Back then, the Dragonblood Legion had specifically hunted the sealed Heaven Devils, but this was the first time Long Chen had witnessed one being awakened like this. Judging by the angry man’s pale face and the blood dripping from his mouth, the awakening process had gone wrong. “It seems like we’ve stirred up quite a problem,” said Tang Wan-er, taking note of their reactions.

“What are they doing?” asked Xiao Yue.

“They tried to awaken a Heaven Devil fetus,” Long Chen explained. “The Heaven Devil race sealed their geniuses inside these fetuses to preserve their power. The Dragonblood Legion encountered several of them in the Endless Desolation, and we... helped them ‘move on’ out of the goodness of our hearts,” Long Chen replied solemnly.

“Move on?” Xiao Yue raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean by that?”

“We freed them from their eggs, and then...” Long Chen replied, pausing for dramatic effect.

“And then?”

“And then we guided them on the path to reincarnation,” he finished with a smirk.

Despite the tension in the air, Long Chen’s companions couldn’t help but give him odd looks. It wasn’t exactly the time for jokes, yet Long Chen always found a way to lighten the mood.

“Damn humans!” roared the elder of the bone devil race, pointing his staff at Long Chen. “How dare you interfere with the great Heaven Devil race?! Have you considered the consequences of your actions?!”

The bone devils immediately charged toward Long Chen and the others, surrounding the Hidden Dragon Legion. Hundreds of thousands of Emperor-level devils closed in, more than half of them two-vein Emperors. The Hidden Dragon Legion had never seen such a terrifying lineup before. To say that they were unafraid would definitely be a lie.

The Heaven Devil surprisingly paused obediently, though still seething with rage. Standing a mere three hundred meters from Long Chen, he asked. “Do you have any final words?”

“No, you misunderstand,” Long Chen replied smoothly. “I’m not handling this today. The one sending you off will be the peerless beauty standing right beside me.”

Tang Wan-er had been itching to test her strength against this Heaven Devil from the moment she saw him. Seeing that Long Chen left this battle to her, she immediately stepped forward. Without hesitation, she launched her attack.
