Chapter 6241 Four Divine Sovereigns Mutual Destruction

The sharp crack of Long Chen’s slap snapped the man awake, causing the latter’s eyes to widen in panic.

“Didn’t you say you wouldn’t kill me?!” he shouted.

Long Chen ignored him and looked at Lei Yuner.

Shaking her head, Lei Yuner said, “These devils are all savages. There’s not much of a chance of getting anything out of him.”

Long Chen’s expression darkened. He seized the man by the throat and slapped him again.

Pow!

“So you’re not going to speak, huh?”

Pow!

“Think you’re tough, huh?”

Pow, pow, pow, pow!

Long Chen continuously slapped him as he cursed, dazing the Lightning Falcon race’s experts.

Finally, after hundreds of slaps, Long Chen stopped. The prisoner’s face was swollen beyond recognition, like a grotesque pig’s head.

When Long Chen finally stopped, that person was crying.

“Y-You haven’t even asked me anything yet!” the man shouted. “Ask me your question!”

“You dare talk back?!” Long Chen barked, unleashing another flurry of strikes that left the man barely conscious.

“I was wrong, I was wrong! Just kill me! Please, just kill me!” pleaded that person.

“Kill you? And break my word?” Long Chen snorted, slapping him again.

After another barrage of slaps, that expert seemed to be on his last breaths. Lei Yuner was worried about Long Chen accidentally killing him.

By now the prisoner’s eyes were dull and lifeless, his spirit about to disappear. He no longer wanted to live but couldn’t even die. His mind almost collapsed.

“What do you want to know?! Tell me! I’ll definitely tell you everything! If I tell a single lie, let me rot and have a terrible death! Please, just let me die!” he pleaded.

Long Chen’s slaps looked light, but they had been perfectly measured to shake the soul itself. Another few, and the man would be an empty husk.

Lei Yuner quickly cut in. “What’s inside that jungle? We only got close before you chased us down.”

“There’s... a hidden battlefield,” the man said hoarsely. “Four Divine Sovereigns died there. Two from our Heaven Devil race, two from your nine heavens. One... was a lightning-attribute lifeform. The other... a Nine Star Heir.”

Hearing that, both Long Chen and Lei Yuner were shocked. Four Divine Sovereigns had died there? One being a lightning attribute divine bird, one being a nine star heir? Was it a nine star heir of the primal chaos era who had reached the Divine Sovereign realm?

That person continued, “We’ve guarded that battlefield for countless years. In each opening of the heaven region’s battlefield, we will kill your people until you are expelled and then go searching for that battlefield’s treasures. However, there are too many terrifying existences on the battlefield. Although they’re dead, their soul essence was eternal. Disturb them, and they kill without mercy. The same happens to your people if they wander near our ancestors’ discarnate souls.”

Hearing that, Long Chen immediately thought of the Primal Chaos Vermilion Bird. It was already dead, but its hatred still burned strong. It couldn’t even activate the nirvanic rebirth but had prepared to use its little remaining power to drag everyone down.

That man continued, “However, some discarnate souls are still locked in battle. The battlefield within the jungle is one such place. If we want to obtain their legacies, we must first help our ancestors defeat their enemies.

“Although we hold the advantage and can wipe out your side, claiming those legacies has proven far more difficult. Your ancestors’ wills are far too strong. Even after over thirty openings of the heaven region’s battlefield, they still continued to fight back. But now... now we are finally seeing signs of their wills beginning to crumble.

“This time, our strength is unprecedented. Countless heavenly geniuses view the legacies left on the heaven region’s battlefield as treasures they must claim. As such, people like me are stationed here simply to guard against your side’s interference.”

Hearing this, Long Chen and Lei Yuner fell silent, their fists clenching tightly.

Their ancestors had fought to the death, and even in death their wills still resisted their enemies. Yet every time, the experts of the nine heavens were quickly beaten back and expelled. Their ancestors had to be disappointed in them.

Just then, a bone plate on that person’s waist started to flash, so Long Chen waved for him to look at it.

The man cautiously picked it up and read a line of incomprehensible characters, likely in his race’s own tongue.

As he finished reading, his expression changed drastically, his hand trembling.

“This is impossible! Ying Luo has been slain! He is a six-hundred-flame divine sprout!”

“Six hundred?!”

Lei Yuner and the others’ jaws dropped.

“Who killed him?” asked Long Chen.

“A youngster with a strange dice behind him,” answered that person.

“A strange dice? Hu Feng?” Long Chen muttered, immediately thinking of Hu Feng.

Hu Feng had been a hero who died in battle on the Martial Heaven Continent, yet somehow, he now appeared in the immortal world.

“You know him?” asked Lei Yuner in shock.

She had never heard of such a powerful figure.

In truth, during the great counterattack when Long Chen led the human race to slaughter the other races occupying their cities, Hu Feng had also appeared. However, no one had survived to witness his true power. With the world’s attention fixed entirely on Long Chen, Hu Feng had left few ripples in the public eye.

Long Chen pressed for more information, but quickly realized the man knew very little. Though the man possessed three hundred Sovereign flames, his actual combat power was unimpressive—hence, why he had been assigned as a mere guard.

As for the other legacies, he didn’t even know where they were. Continuing to press him resulted in only the tiniest bit of information.

Long Chen then pressed a hand against his forehead.

He said, “Whatever I say counts. Today, I’ll spare you, but I’ve placed a curse on your soul. In this lifetime, if you kill anyone from the nine heavens, the curse will immediately trigger and kill you.”

When Long Chen’s hand touched his head, the man thought his death had come. Realizing he was being spared instead, he bowed repeatedly before flying off in a hurry.

“Come on, let’s go take a look!”
