Nine Star Hegemon Body Arts

Chapter 6294 Purifying Power

Chapter 6294 Purifying Power

BOOM!

The Dark race expert had just escaped the Devil Prison when Long Chen and Mo Nian’s arrow struck his body.

His body instantly exploded. At the same time, a black passageway appeared where he had stood, stretching endlessly into the void. Grand Dao runes unraveled into lightning and flames—signs that the Grand Dao laws themselves were collapsing.

“Let’s see you crawl back from that!” Mo Nian shouted through gritted teeth.

Both he and Long Chen turned pale after the strike. Their bodies felt hollow, drained to the core. But before they could even breathe a sigh of relief, a shocking sight froze them.

Black qi once more gathered in the void, igniting into runes that gradually formed a human shape.

“Damn it!” Mo Nian shouted, almost slapping himself. “Let’s run!”

He was ready to flee. No matter how they fought, this monster refused to stay dead.

Long Chen felt the same dread. Never before had he faced such a terrifying existence—one that their combined might couldn’t kill.

Still, he noticed something: its physical shell had been utterly destroyed. What stood before them now was no longer flesh and blood, but a bizarre condensation of energy.

Its aura was clearly weaker, which meant they had managed to damage it with their previous attack.

“Damn, it’s extracting the spider’s power through space! That’s mine!” roared Evilmoon.

Petals swirled together into Evilmoon, and it stabbed that black lifeform.

BOOM!

The black spear reappeared. Evilmoon shattered on the spot, scattering back into countless petals.

Without Long Chen’s Spiritual Strength supporting it, Evilmoon’s strength wasn’t enough to shake that abomination.

This lifeform had to be related to the black spider. Evilmoon was already locking the spider down, yet this thing was still siphoning its energy. If Evilmoon released his hold, the creature would likely rip all of the spider’s power away in an instant.

“Is there any way to counter this thing?!” shouted Mo Nian.

Huo Linger and Lei Linger flew out, but although they were powerful, they weren’t a match for this lifeform. In the blink of an eye, the black lifeform blasted them apart, scattering them back into elemental energy.

Zhi Zhi emerged next, vines whipping out to bind the creature. But those vines were shredded instantly.

The gap in power was simply too big.

Long Chen was caught in a difficult position. Evilmoon had managed to absorb so much dark energy that it wouldn’t let them leave now that it had its fangs in such a feast.

Suddenly, this lifeform stepped toward them. Waves of black qi surged out, pressing down like a world collapsing onto Long Chen and Mo Nian.

“Fine!”

Seeing Long Chen in crisis, Evilmoon was about to release its seal and attack that lifeform with its full power.

But just then, a golden lotus seed appeared before Long Chen. Its divine radiance blazed, forming a golden lotus diagram in the air.

The instant the black qi touched it, it melted away like snow under the scorching sun.

“AHH!”

The strange lifeform let out a bloodcurdling scream. Its body writhed as the golden light seared into it, causing black qi to evaporate into white steam that slowly dissipated.

All of heaven and earth seemed to be cleansed. The dark, sinister, bloodthirsty aura was steadily swept away.

Long Chen was startled. The golden lotus seed had come out at this critical time to save him.

This seed had been given to him by that mysterious Aunt Gong, yet he had never understood its origin or true purpose. Even so, it had rescued him several times already.

“Quick, put it away! The spider’s energy will be purified completely, and then I’ll have nothing to eat!” Evilmoon suddenly shouted in panic.

Startled, Long Chen hurriedly communed with the lotus seed, drawing it back into the primal chaos space. If left unchecked, it perhaps would purify the entire world.

Once inside, the lotus seed’s glow dimmed noticeably. Faint black markings appeared on its surface, as if tainted by the black qi. Still, its core energy remained mostly intact, so it should be able to recover in time.

Long Chen couldn’t help but recall how, the last time he had relied on its power, the seed had ended up gravely wounded. Since then, he hadn’t dared to use it again.

He hadn’t expected that it had grown even stronger—strong enough to slay that terrifying lifeform outright. If he hadn’t stopped it just now, it would have even purified the black spider.

The golden lotus seed’s appearance was like the sun driving away the clouds. The suffocating darkness receded, and the oppressive aura of death finally lifted. Mo Nian exhaled a long breath of relief.

“Haha, we’re saved!”

As Mo Nian sat down hard on a coffin, he said, “Being with you really is stimulating—far too stimulating.”

When alone, even amidst danger, he always had control of the situation. But with Long Chen, plans were constantly derailed, every encounter spiraling into life-and-death struggles. Time and again, he had nearly lost his life.

Mo Nian was usually confident in his ability to escape with his life, no matter the danger. But before that terrifying lifeform, he truly hadn’t been sure he could get away.

“Hey, don’t look at me like that. Are you blaming me? Doesn’t your conscience ache? You were the one who dragged me here, no?” Long Chen retorted, giving Mo Nian a scornful glance as he sat beside him.

Mo Nian coughed awkwardly. “Well... do you think it’s possible that if I’d been alone, I might have pulled everything off smoothly?”

“Oh, so now it’s my fault things turned out this way?” Long Chen rolled his eyes.

“It’s just a possibility. Don’t take it too seriously. We’re brothers, and it’s only right for us to share fortune and calamity,” chuckled Mo Nian.

Although Long Chen refused to admit it, deep down he did wonder. Could it be his cursed misfortune had dragged Mo Nian into this?

Normally, Mo Nian wandered the world alone, plundering tombs and provoking countless powerful factions. With so many people wanting him dead, he still somehow managed to thrive.

Yet, the moment he was with Long Chen, his life dangled on the edge of disaster. That was suspicious.

Now that the lifeform was dead, this place was no longer a forbidden zone. The spatial laws shifted, and the two of them simply rested atop the coffin.

As for Evilmoon, with no one to disturb it, it crazily absorbed the black spider’s energy. After a day, the two of them had recovered halfway, and Mo Nian impatiently got up.

“Come on, let’s go see the treasure!”

“The treasure? Where?” asked Long Chen.

Mo Nian chuckled and pointed below.

“Naturally whatever is below this altar!”
