Chapter 6413 Slaughter Spear, Ming Cang’s Fall
Chapter 6413 Slaughter Spear, Ming Cang’s Fall
Long Chen had been observing from the sidelines, waiting for the perfect opening. The instant he saw it, he struck.
He appeared behind Ming Cang without a sound, his hand clamping around his throat.
Unfortunately, before Long Chen could crush his neck, a black scale on Ming Cang’s back had exploded. Then, the might of a Divine Sovereign erupted forth.
Long Chen’s expression changed. “A rune placed by a Divine Sovereign!”
It was too late to pull back. The explosion struck him head-on. With a muffled grunt, Long Chen was blasted backward, his hand torn into a bloody mess.
“What a sinister fellow!”
Cold sweat dripped down Long Chen’s spine. If not for Evilmoon’s power surging out at the last moment to block most of the impact, that blast would have killed him outright.
Ming Cang’s aura rose rapidly, as if he were possessed by a Divine Sovereign. His aura directly blew back Long Chen and Cang Lu.
“AH!”
Ming Cang let out a scream. Although his aura was soaring, his voice was filled with agony and terror.
“What is going on?!” demanded Long Chen.
“It seems you triggered a seal within his body,” replied the Earth Cauldron. “If my guess is correct, it’s a dormant seal meant for his future breakthrough to the Divine Sovereign realm. By activating it prematurely, he’s drawn out power his body can’t withstand. He may self-detonate.”
“Self-detonate?” Long Chen was shocked.
Then realization struck him like lightning. It wasn’t just Ming Cang... Long Wu and the other peak geniuses probably carried the same kind of seals.
This way, the higher-ups could protect their powerful descendants to some degree. If the three vile dragon geniuses fought each other, they had to be wary of triggering this seal and getting themselves killed by a final deathblow of their opponent.
“Long Chen, I want you dead!” Ming Cang barked, his voice full of resentment.
His body shone like a miniature sun, so bright it was impossible to look directly at him. The air trembled beneath his power.
And then—
SHING!
A streak of black light pierced through the blazing sun. The light dimmed instantly.
When everyone’s eyes adjusted, they saw a black spear jutting through Ming Cang’s chest.
Ming Cang stared down at that spear in terror. Feeling his power rapidly draining away, he despaired.
At this moment, a shadow arrived before him, and Ming Cang’s pupils constricted to pinpoints.
“Lord Ming Cang,” said the figure coldly, “you can rest in peace knowing you died beneath our vile dragon race’s execution weapon—the Slaughter Spear.”
“Long Xu, you bastard!” Ming Cang roared, reaching out to throttle the smiling Long Xu.
However, as the Slaughter Spear drained away his power, he couldn’t muster any force.
The Slaughter Spear—the vile dragon race’s ultimate execution weapon. It absorbed the energy of their own kind and sealed it within. There were only ever three such weapons, and they were all in the possession of the race leader.
This weapon was extremely specialized. It could only devour the life essence of vile dragons, and only another vile dragon could extract that sealed energy. It was essentially a forbidden weapon of their race.
Hundreds of thousands of years ago, an internal conflict erupted within the vile dragon race, and one of the Slaughter Spears vanished amidst the chaos. When order was restored, the entire race went into a frenzy searching for it.
The race leader at the time was imprisoned for decades, and every inch of the vile dragon domain—every body, every grain of soil—was inspected. Yet, the missing Slaughter Spear was never found.
For the Slaughter Spear to appear now, Ming Cang instantly knew that the missing spear had been hidden away by Long Xu’s branch.
“Long Xu, you and your clans are definitely dead now!” Ming Cang cursed powerlessly, unable to roar now.
“You don’t need to worry about that,” said Long Xu coldly. “Just go in peace.”
He slowly clenched the Slaughter Spear.
BOOM!
Ming Cang’s body exploded into pieces.
The experts in the distance had been blasted back by the shockwave. Thus, none of them could see what was happening at the center of the battlefield, nor hear the final words exchanged.
However, they could vaguely sense Ming Cang’s aura. When it vanished, all of them were shocked.
Suddenly, two figures flew out from the twisting space where the battle had taken place.
One of them wore a cloak that covered his face. His spear ripped through the void, blasting everyone in its path into blood mist.
The other figure was Cang Lu. With the Bloodfiend Halberd, he slaughtered the experts in the opposite direction.
The survivors were still trying to comprehend Ming Cang’s disappearance when these two death gods descended upon them.
A slaughter commenced.
“Run!” someone screamed in terror.
Only then did they realize Ming Cang had actually died. Now, Long Chen would kill the rest of them.
Before the survivors could run far, a ripple spread from Cang Lu and that cloaked figure. A terrifying Sovereign flame domain enveloped the battlefield, freezing their movements.
Though their auras were not as overwhelming as Ming Cang’s, the pressure was still suffocating. The fleeing experts stumbled like retired old men, screaming as they were cut down one after another.
Their cries couldn’t save them. Within a few breaths, every one of those powerful experts was dead.
The air was thick with blood. Corpses were piled high.
Inside the Sovereign Dragon Divine Nest, the rhino dragon experts were completely dumbfounded.
They had never expected things to end this way and so quickly. The unstoppable Ming Cang hadn’t even shown his true power before he was annihilated.
All they had seen was a blinding flash of light from Ming Cang... and then silence. When the light faded, two death gods emerged and began the massacre.
After killing everyone, Cang Lu returned to Long Chen’s side. As for the cloaked figure, he walked up to Long Chen and dropped to one knee.
“Long Xu greets Master.”
When Xi Yuanqing and the others heard this, their eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
Long Chen stood with his hands clasped behind his back, his gaze icy and unyielding as he looked down at the kneeling Long Xu.
“You dare to scheme against me? Tell me, do you want to live?”
