Chapter 6767 Tiger Venerate Scepter
Chapter 6767 Tiger Venerate Scepter
“Ah, so you’re connected to the Huayun Trading Company?” Long Chen exclaimed softly.
Through the conversation with Race Leader Yuantu, Long Chen learned that the Huayun Trading Company was an enormous force even within the Primal Chaos World.
The Rainbow Cloud Leopard race had a very good relationship with them, which was why they had some knowledge about the world of the nine heavens.
However, Yuantu knew only that Long Chen was the youngest dean in the history of the High Firmament Academy and nothing more.
That showed that the Huayun Trading Company protected Long Chen’s information. They didn’t tell the Rainbow Cloud Leopard race important information about him.
Perhaps that was also due to their business principles. They had shared just enough so that, should the Rainbow Cloud Leopard race encounter Long Chen, they would know better than to provoke him.
When Long Chen asked about the Tiger Venerate line’s request for reinforcements, Yuantu grew solemn.
“From what I know, this battle will be unprecedented in scale. In the past, it was always the devil races—both native and external—clashing with the Tiger Venerate line.
“Afterwards, other factions wanted to get a share of glory and joined them. The Brahma line’s shadow seems to be present behind this.
“However, the Brahma line is no longer pretending. They have mobilized in full force, led by one of the eight divine commanders. They have united multiple large factions and are planning to crush the Tiger Venerate line, saying that the latter have declined but are still taking up too much of the demon race’s karmic luck.
“With the great era descending, the Tiger Venerate line’s refusal to hand over their Tiger Venerate Scepter is being framed as an act of selfishness, as if they have abandoned the demon race’s chance to rise.”
“The Tiger Venerate Scepter? What is that?” asked Long Chen.
With a bitter smile, Yuantu replied, “Ah, junior brother, I forgot you aren’t from the demon race. The Tiger Venerate Scepter is said to be the karmic luck divine weapon of all furred demon races. Legend claims it holds supreme power—enough to make its wielder the undisputed king of our race.
“Of course, those are only legends. If they were entirely true, then since the Tiger Venerate line currently rules, how could so many furred demon races unite against them?”
Tiger Venerate Scepter. The name stirred something in Long Chen.
It reminded him of his own Sovereign King Dragon Crown.
Dragon was the king of the scaled beasts, and tiger was the king of the furred demon beasts. All along, the Brahma line had been suppressing the Tiger Venerate line under the banner of internal demon-race competition.
With the Brahma line’s influence, they could rouse massive armies. Now that they had rallied the outsider devils and the native devil race, it seemed that they truly intended on crushing the Tiger Venerate line.
If the Tiger Venerate line fell, the Tiger Venerate would perish. And if the Tiger Venerate died, then as the Primal Chaos Dragon Sovereign had warned, the true destruction of the nine heavens and ten lands would begin.
“This is a battle for survival,” Long Chen said, clenching his fist. “We can only win.”
“Since we’re all on the same side, I will just say it. Our odds of victory in this battle... are basically zero.” Yuantu sighed helplessly.
Li Wangshu and Jin Ming said nothing. Their previous composure had always been an act.
The Tiger Venerate line had been under siege for too long, whittled down again and again. Once, the White Tiger race had numbered in the thousands of tribes. Now, fewer than half remained.
The enemy had never allowed them time to recover. They had drained them dry, and now they were delivering the final blow.
The scale of this upcoming battle would be tens of times greater than before, perhaps even more. Yuantu’s pessimism was well-founded.
“If you knew defeat was inevitable,” Long Chen asked, “why did you still come to support the Tiger Venerate line?”
“Because of a promise,” Yuantu and Li Wangshu said in unison.
“Our ancestors swore to protect the Tiger Venerate line forever. Unless the Tiger Venerate line is truly destroyed, we can’t forsake this promise,” Yuantu said solemnly.
Long Chen shot him a thumbs-up. The demon race really did commit to their promises.
A single promise was enough to compel countless descendants to fight to the death without regrets. This was something the human race would never be able to match.
They could mock the demon race for being foolish, but Long Chen was truly impressed.
At that moment, a distant rumble echoed through the air.
Shaking his head, Yuantu said, “These foolish children. They have no idea what they’re about to face.”
Clearly, the younger disciples were exchanging blows. Neither side was willing to admit inferiority to the other.
Yuantu let them do as they pleased because he felt guilty toward them. They would very likely not return alive, including him.
“There’s no need to be so pessimistic,” Long Chen said calmly. “I can’t promise that everyone will return alive, but I can promise that we will not lose.”
“We can only hope,” Yuantu said.
Yuantu smiled, but it was just out of politeness. He clearly didn’t have Long Chen’s confidence.
Jin Ming and Li Wangshu, however, exchanged glances. They had witnessed Long Chen’s capabilities firsthand.
Just then, the flying shuttle quivered, baffling Yuantu.
Had these children really gone crazy?
At the same moment, a jade tablet at his waist began flashing violently. His expression changed.
“Not good!”
The four of them rushed out of the private chamber.
Above them, the sky had darkened. Countless bats blotted out the sun.
Three-meter-long humanoid bats with bone tridents in their hands flew in the sky. Long tails lashed behind them, ending in sharp bone stingers slick with blue poison.
“It’s the Black Wing Toxic Bat race,” Yuantu said grimly. “An old enemy, but their number is staggering! We haven’t even reached the ancestral lands, and we already run into them.”
An endless tide of Black Wing Toxic Bats were charging toward their shuttle. They smashed into the flying shuttle’s barrier, causing massive ripples to spread.
This flying shuttle was a Heavenly Sovereign Dao Weapon. Although it was more for transportation, its defensive powers were still amazing. These attacks were not going to break through its barrier.
However, the wild attacks were rapidly draining its energy, slowing it to a crawl. The shuttle was completely surrounded.
Who knew what kind of terrifying existences lurked behind this swarm?
“Race Leader,” an elder reported quickly, “this appears to be a probing attack. We initially sensed acquired Divine Sovereign auras, but they vanished immediately. What should we do?”
The enemy’s side had intentionally unleashed this swarm of bats on them to test them out, wanting to see their reaction.
If they did not counterattack, the flying shuttle’s energy would be rapidly drained. But if they were to launch a rash counterattack, they would be falling right into the enemy’s trap. The hidden experts would immediately launch their ambush.
“Fullmoon race and Golden Horn race’s divine sons, open a path for everyone else!” shouted Long Chen.
“Yes!”
Youlan and Qingwu had long since been growing impatient. Hearing this order, they charged out just like that.
“What...?”
Yuantu was stunned. Was this not too brash? Before he could say something, Li Wangshu grabbed his arm.
“Brother Yuantu, do not worry. Let these children warm up a bit first!”
