Chapter 2999: Stopping the Followers of the Lord of the Watery Abyss

Adrian suddenly appeared in front of the corrupted attendant which shocked everyone. All of them were keepin an eye on him because he looked different and he was clearly a few meters away. They all know that a land dweller cannot move in water that fast unless they have special means.

"Only scum targets children." Adrian stated as his fingers had the compressed energy of force.

Adrian flicked his finger directly onto the forehead of the attendant and the latter was sent flying backwards. A broken skull could be seen on the attendant but he was still alive. Princess Drona, on the other hand, looked a bit shaken but she recovered when she noticed that Adrian suddenly appeared beside her. She did not know why but there was this energy around the demon that soothe her.

"Are you okay, princess?" Adrian asked just to make sure.

"I am fine. Thank you for saving me." Princess Drona replied.

The attendant that tried to stab Princess Drona should have died from Adrian’s attack as he did use 15% of his total energy to use that attack. It should be enough to kill an attendant that does not have much combat experience but that only works on normal beings. The attendant that dared to attack the princess is also a corrupted being.

The blood on his head that is being scattered in the water suddenly became a black sludge that returned back to his body. The sight was so eerie and unnerving that even the blessed guards of the ocean and seas had to reel back. The blessed guards of the oceans and seas could be seen blowing a seashell horn and this is to signal that a corrupted follower of a dark god or distorted god has been seen.

"Why are you even interfering mouth breather!" The corrupted attendant stated as his entire head has formed back to normal.

When the corrupted attendant no longer kept the disguise, the mark of the Lord of the Watery Abyss appeared on his forehead like an insignia or brand. Four tentacles sprouted from his back but they were made from black sludge and did not look natural at all. The scales that were covering his body also turned a murky black color to symbolize that he has been corrupted.

"All Followers of the Watery Abyss! Kill all of the living beings here!" The corrupted attendant commanded as his eyes glowed red.

All of a sudden, the guards from both the Scylla Kingdom and Merfolk Kingdom turned against each other. About 80% of the guards from the Scylla Kingdom attacked while 70% of the guards from the Merfolk Kingdom attacked those around them. The sudden traitorous action finally made the monarchs from the two kingdoms learn that they have been played.

Seeing the sudden action, the blessed guards of ocean and seas also joined in purging the traitors but the Followers of the Watery Abyss came prepared for them too. The Followers of the Watery Abyss tossed a conch shell that was deep red in color and it created a flash of red light. The red light did not do anything to the other but it did affect the blessed guards of the oceans and seas.

The blessed guards of oceans and seas suddenly felt their divine blessings getting reduced by more than half. This made them vulnerable to the attacks of the corrupted followers just like the other soldiers. In the end, the area became chaotic as the usual peacekeepers could not maintain the peace.

"A relic that can weaken divine power that is not that of the Lord of the Watery Abyss." Adrian muttered as he also caught Princess Drona as she seems to have been affected.

Adrian already had his suspicions that Princess Drona can only be this energetic because of a blessing from the goddess. She has lots of dormant power inside of her and that would also mean she would be sickly as a child. The Blessing of the Goddess Echidna might be the reason why her power could stabilize but the suppressor relic made her blessing weaker.

"I should send you somewhere safe, princess." Adrian stated as he touched Princess Drona’s forehead and she was suddenly transported next to Altum and Renyu.

"Was it you that saved the princess, mouth breather?! I admit that the princess has immense luck because this is not the first time that I tried to get rid of her." The corrupted attendant stated as his energy started to stabilize and his body started to morph more.

The corrupted attendant then looked like his head became bloated as dark veins appeared. His head that looked human earlier suddenly became looking like an octopus. One of his arms also became a large corrupted tentacle which means his corruption has already proceeded to abnormal levels.

"Why do I need to answer when you will get killed here?" Adrian replied.

"Killed?! I am a High Priest of the Watery Abyss! We are beings that have been blessed by the Lord of the Watery Abyss to become invincible when in deep waters! You cannot kill us because we shall kill you!" The High Priest of the Watery Abyss shouted but he miscalculated one thing.

"Who said that I was going to kill you? I will merely aid the mother that you have offended. Let the temporal chain be under my control. Temporal Lock!" Adrian stated as all of the traitors suddenly froze in place. All of the bodies of his enemies became frozen in time as they were all influenced by temporal magic.

"Impossible! What is happening to my body! Why can I not move!?" The High Priest of the Water Abyss shouted as it seems he could still move his head despite time being frozen for his body.

"Corrupted and foul beings! It seems that all of you have forgotten my wrath when you killed my husband back then! Now you plan to kill my beloved child! Die all of you!" The Scylla Queen shouted as her aura and presence exploded.

Eight dragon heads that looked extremely scaled texture appeared in an enlarge size. Each of the dragon head is at least three meters in diameter. The wrath of the Scylla Queen has reached its peak as all eight dragon heads released a concentrated blast of heat from their throats. The High Priest of the Water Abyss and the traitors were all burned by Scylla Fire.

The beings that were hit by the Scylla Fire could not even dodge because Adrian made sure that they cannot. The bodies of those hit by the Scylla Fire melted like candle wax as the flames can melt while not being affected by the deep water. The High Priest of the Water Abyss could only scream because that is all he could do as only his head can move.

"NO! ALL OF YOU SHALL FACE THE WRATH OF THE LORD OF THE WATERY ABYSS! I CURSE ALL OF YOU!" The High Priest of the Water Abyss shouted.

"Is that so? Taste the power of all eight of my heads then." The Scylla Queen stated as all eight of her dragon heads blasted the High Priest of the Watery Abyss until nothing is left from his body.

Adrian and the others could feel the fury of a mother scorned and even told that her beloved daughter has been killed. He did not say anything as she fired off more of her Scylla Fire despite the High Priest of the Watery Abyss already turned to nothing. He knew that he would be scolded if he interjected when the Scylla Queen is merely blowing off steam.

"Mother!" Princess Drona called out and this is what stopped the Scylla Queen from continuing her attack.

"My princess!" The Scylla Queen stated as she turned to her more humanoid appearance and her lower half looked more like that of a human as well.

The Scylla Queen then proceeded to hug Princess Drona while crying. The pain in her heart suddenly vanished as the child she thought that has been killed is actually alive. Even the Merfolk King and Queen could be seen to have a relieved face as they really liked Princess Drona as well. Still, the situation did not release the tension because now they know that they have been played.

"My princess! Thank the goddess that you are safe! I knew that a blessed child of the goddess will never be abandoned." The Scylla Queen stated.

Adrian was about to say something when he felt a chilling sensation from the back of his neck. He looked above and immediately noticed a silhouette which made him stop time for a moment. When time resumed, Adrian looked at the reunited mother and child which made him smile.

"We are glad that you are safe, Drona. We really thought that you were killed." The Merfolk Queen stated as she looked glad that the Scylla princess did not really die. She was also very heartbroken about it.
