Chapter 3040: The Ascension Update II

The video ended and all of the players could not believe what they saw. Everyone witnessed the gods descending to the world themselves but it was clear that not all of the gods are able to do it. It seems that there are gods that are too powerful to be able to descend fully but the video is proof enough that significant things have changed.

The video is proof that some gods can now fully descend to the mortal realm without anything weighing them down. Before lesser gods can descend but their movement area has always been restricted. If one were to breakdown the video then the symbolism of the gods descending from the divine realms via the stairs meant that they can use all of their power in the mortal realm.

It also means a large shift in power would be available as lesser gods would no longer need faith and divine relics to stabilize their bodies in the mortal realm. The lesser gods could basically use 99% of their divine essence and leave only 1% in their divine realms. Still, this means that the battles in the main world would become harsher because divine beings descending means monster will also become more powerful.

"Does this mean that fighting against the lesser gods would become frequent now?" Levin Cloud asked as they have all finished analyzing the video.

"It might be just like what you have said. The symbolism of the gods themselves walking or descending from the divine realms mean they can now exercise more authority." Vayu stated.

"What is your opinion, big bro? You are the one that has the most knowledge about the gods compared to all of us." Creepysoo asked Adrian.

"Hey! Why are you not asking me about that? I have lots of exposure with gods as well." Levin Cloud stated.

"We are in the same boat, Big Bro Cloud. We bow down our heads to gods that are more powerful and more respected than us. The gods of death are afraid of Big Bro Equinox which means all of the gods are afraid of him." Creepysoo stated.

"You are actually correct about that. Even the gods and goddesses of life that are difficult would suddenly tense up when I say that I will ask Equinox to help us with the overseeing of the task. His name is like the boogeyman for them for some reason. Do you know the reason?" Levin Cloud asked.

"Oh! Are you all curious of the reason? I can demonstrate one of the reasons for all of you if you are interested. When we are able to login, all of you will just need to use all of your ocular skills on me. Even Inspect can be used and I will make sure to have my skill not be bounced off." Adrian stated with a smile but he is actually trying to know how his kill will affect others with divinity since most of his friends are already demigods.

"Anyways, regarding this update... I do not think it will be simple as the lesser gods having restrictions. I think it is more of the fact that they can now use their Authority of Laws in the mortal world. Previously, lesser gods can descend but their ability to interfere with the world has been restricted because of reasons.

It seems that the unstable flow of divine energy in the world made the gods weaker than they are supposed to be. With the flow of the world stable with divine energy, this means that the lesser gods can execute their Authority of Laws and even summon forth their domains without problem. Lesser gods would need at least twenty newly awakened demigods to go against them.

This means that the gods would now be able to truly build factions and create miracles on the level of changing terrain. The Age of the Gods has started but the progress is now escalating to the point that even Greater Gods might be able to descend after a point in time. Everyone needs to be ready for these as greater gods are not beings that can be offended easily and they are powerful beyond belief if they descend with restriction." Adrian added as he knows how powerful gods are if they can descend with their power intact.

"That would mean that there is also merit in taking down gods compared to before. The divine energy that demigods could absorb would also skyrocket. I fear for the safety of the common people because they will be the ones that will be dragged down." Frey stated.

"Gods need faith so those demigods will surely not try something when numerous eyes are watching. If they harm a lesser god that has done good for the people then they will not get the faith that they need to become a greater god in the future. After all, why did you guys think that the lesser gods descended even if they are not weakened. They have already thought this through and have gained a foothold in some kingdoms." Adrian stated with a smile which made the others shiver.

They did not think that the lesser gods actually descended despite the danger because they were going for the long game. Some lesser gods have become patrons of the kingdoms and even their protectors which means the people living there would give them faith and help them. They did not expect that this was in preparation for the future that is now about to happen.

"They are gods that have lived a long life after all. No need to be shocked with their ways and there is not really much to criticize when they also benefitted the people. In the end, there was also equal exchange that happened as such everyone got something. Anyways, we better rest for now and wait for the patch notes to go live. The announcement of the patch notes will be in eight hours which is two hours before the game reopens. Rest well for now everyone." Adrian stated as he was still sleepy and the others need to rest as well.

"See you guys at the guild house for the patch notes briefing." Levin Cloud stated as he also needed to rest and the others agreed which is why they all logged out.

Adrian slept for another three hours before waking up for breakfast. He was told to go to the hospital for a sudden checkup which is why he prepared. The sudden checkup is a routine inspection from the doctor to check if he is really keeping up with his rehabilitation procedure. The checking was quick and the results would be given after a few days.

"From what I heard, it seems that you are showing good recovery and might be able to get rid off the skeletal assistance. If that happens then you would be able to walk normally in a slow cadence." Mina stated as she was the one that took Adrian to the hospital for the checkup.

Adrian could not believe that he is about to be fully cured and his heart started to pump wildly. Even though he did not want to admit it but he thought less of himself because of the injury that happened to him. Now that he has actual evidence that his days of being assisted to walk is depleting, the sense of relief could be seen on his face as it is written plain as day.

"Do not be too overjoyed just yet. The doctors said that you still need to do rehabilitation exercises for at least six months after the skeletal assistance is gone. You would also be forbidden from strenuous activities which means you are still lucky that mother will not haul you for practice." Mina stated as she ate her ice creams sundae as they were having a snack before returning home.

"She already got permission from one of the doctors for me to do some light baton swings. Do you think that I can extend my non-training days?" Adrian asked.

"Just recover normally or else some complications might happen. You do not need to worry about mother for the moment as she is busy tormenting me with training." Mina stated but she means it as all she wants is for Adrian to be fully healed.

"Thanks, and also condolence for your boyfriend. I heard that he is coming here and live in a condo near our place to be with you. Did you already brief him of the ritual all members of our family have to do in order to marry one of us?" Adrian asked as Lycan or rather Nicholas did call him about the culture in the former’s country.

"He will need to experience it himself and he has some background because he did join his country’s military for at least two years." Mina stated.

"Let us just hope that is enough experience to live with the beati... I mean training that he will overcome. If he overcomes it then I will really call him brother-in-law." Adrian stated.
