Chapter 3049: The World Where Gods Walk Freely

The changes in Avalon got viral but that is not the only thing that is viral. The next viral news that are filling all of the forums are gods that are now freely walking in the world. Back then when the gods can descend, they can only be inside a boundary of their sanctuaries but this time is different. The lesser god could now wander freely just like travelers.

A lot of mortals encounter gods but not all of them could get close to them. The mortal that could not stand a god’ own pressure would steer clear as they would pass out if they even try. Some mortals are born with a resonant power with the god and immediately became priests the moment the gods noticed them.

The number of priests in the world skyrocketed because of the descent of the lesser gods that usually tried to hide in their divine realms. With the ability to have effects on the world using laws, the lesser gods no longer need to hide or cower in front of demigods that want to target them. In fact, the amount of news about dead demigods were far larger than gods that were killed and sent back to their divine realms.

Due to the power to control the laws of the world, the demigods that harbored to kill lesser gods and steal their divinity dwindled to such a small number. Some demigods that offended the gods even hid and just accumulated their divinity in secret. The gods did not seem bothered by the existence of demigods as it seems there was an invisible rule.

The lesser gods did not mess with the mortals just like what others have predicted. The lesser gods actually stayed relatively peaceful as long as no one attack them. It seems that the power of faith is restricting the gods that descended in making everything go into chaos. The Daemos also stepped up in observing the world as a result because these gods no longer worried about the world as all of them are selfish.

The gods that descended might be benevolent and performing small miracles but the demons and dragons do not believe it. The demons and dragons knew that these gods are all doing this in order to get faith to make themselves stronger. The gods are also afraid of one variable in the world and that is the Champion of Life and Death.

The lesser gods all knew that the Champion of Life and Death have become a demigod and that means he can kill lesser gods if he tried. With the existence of beings that could really extinguish gods present, the lesser gods that descended were now behaving on the surface but some schemes have already started.

In essence, all of the gods that descended are still waiting and looking out for themselves. They want someone to test the waters and truly go mad to see what the reaction would be. The gods might love mortals but their love is calculated through the faith that can be given to them. There are truly gods that love their believers like children but there are also those that only see them as a being that can be harvested.

Adrian is now seated in a council hall with the Daemos Elders and along with them are representative of the Dragon Race. The Ancient Dragons that were slumbering have woken up and decided that peace between two races should be arranged. The friction between the demons and dragons are only due to a squabble after all but long-lived races are petty because they do not have a sense of time.

Adrian wanted to skip out on this meeting because he was going to scout the area of the next elementum but the three Daemos Elders grabbed him before he could escape. Three dragons that have different scale colors descended to Avalon and took human form. Two of them have silver scales while one actually had golden scales.

The golden scaled dragon looked at Adrian with interest as the former knows that the latter has a Genesis Dragon. The Ancient Dragons have been monitoring Adrian back then and learned that the Genesis Dragon that he has actually started from a dragon that has the Devouring trait. Upon learning of this, the dragons that were shunned because of a trait that devours their own race have become a secret resource trained by the Ancient Dragons.

The dragons with devouring traits have become a special squad that were raised by the Ancient Dragons to try and become Genesis Dragons. They have yet to succeed creating a Genesis Dragon but they have managed to have a dragon merge three elements. The Ancient Dragons thought that they were doing this in secret but Basil is not really quiet when it comes to these.

Adrian just casually asked what the dragons are doing and Basil basically told him everything they were doing as her passioned brightened. He actually had to tell Basil that she should not be spouting the secrets of the dragon race just because he asked. Basil then answered him that she only answered because the guild leader was a monster enthusiast just like her.

Needless to say, an ancient dragon had to visit Adrian that very day and ask everything Basil said to be a secret. Adrian did not care if they were really attempting to create another Genesis Dragon and he stated that plainly. As long as they do not bother Kanlaon then Adrian would just let them be. Still, the babbling Basil became the bridge to slightly smoothen the relationship of the demons and dragons.

"Everyone is here. I suppose that we should start the discussions regarding the world moving forward." Elder Ascalor stated as he now looks imposing compared to his usual carefree demeanor.

"The dragon race just needs one thing and that is access to your observational network called the Demon Eyes. We all know that observing the world and also responding to unstable phenomena has become difficult for all of you due to the expansive world that we have now." One of the Ancient Dragons called Namtar stated.

"Access to the Demon Eyes is not out of the question but what will the dragons promise in return. We cannot just hand out such detailed magic to all of you and give access when it is powered by our own magic." Elder Koronn stated.

"We are already lightening your burden by participating in the world’s patrol. Is that not enough as a benefit for your old fossils?" One of the Ancient Dragons named Khah-yil stated.

"If we are old fossils then all of you are rotting lizards." Elder Ascalor shouted back as he tried being civil but one started a verbal debate all of a sudden.

Elder Ascalor and the Ancient Dragon Khah-yil started a verbal abuse fight. Elder Bronx had to hold back Elder Ascalor while the Ancient Dragon Namtar held back the Ancient Dragon Khah-yil. Adrian, on the other hand, is avoiding eye contact with the golden dragon that is staring at him. He deliberately avoided the direction of the ancient dragon that seem to look past him and stare at his soul.

"That is enough, Khah-yil. We did not come here to start a debate but enter a partnership with the Daemos Race. It is no longer the time for our races to be against each other because the gods have already descended fully. Do all of you not remember what happened when gods start to fight against each other?" The Ancient Dragon Aurum stated which made the entire room quiet.

The Ancient Dragon Aurum then looked at Adrian with a smile as if he knew the reasons why some gods are behaving. The Ancient Dragon Aurum is not just looking at Adrian because he knows that he is the master of Kanlaon. The Ancient Dragon Aurum is looking at Adrian with fear, envy, and awe as the demon before him was perfectly concealing such a dangerous energy.

"I believe that the young lord in our presence could solve our problem of clashing interest." The Ancient Dragon Aurum stated which made the other two ancient dragons look at him with a puzzled expression.

The two Ancient Dragons know of Adrian and hold him in high regard but they know that the latter is not a decision maker. The two ancient dragons also know that Adrian is the Champion of the Twin Gods but they know he calls the three Daemos as elders hence they believe he ranks below them. They did not know why Aurum, who is one of the more powerful ancient dragons, believe that the young demon has the final say.

"I guess I should really step in since this discussion has not been productive. I can only offer one thing and that is a binding vow. A covenant between the two races where cooperation is essential which stakes the life and death of those that dare betray. Do all of you agree?" Adrian stated in a voice that was not the cheerful young lord of Avalon but an authority that handles the matters of the world.
