Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights

Chapter 459: All Infected

Chapter 459: All Infected

"Die! Die! Dieeee!!" Hinata, who drove the third truck, which Ken sat on the top, screamed as she stomped on the centipede that an agent at the back seat vomited. They were everywhere in the truck.

Gunshots rang out as some agents pulled out their guns, blasting bullets into the bodies of the infected female agent, but it did nothing. Two bolted for the door, slamming it open and jumping off.

The truck came to a screeching halt as Hinata mashed the brake, then bolted out. Ken jumped down as he saw brave agents with trembling arms and shivering breaths staring at the truck with undeniable fright.

Takeshi was on his knees, almost naked. He glared in every direction, even making sure nothing was hidden in the grass around him. All the centipedes that were on him had been crushed either by his hands, boots, or knees.

While he took deep breaths, Ichiro descended and commanded those in his truck to stay within the truck.

Ichiro took a few steps forward, then paused and unleashed his fierce tiger. It came out of a round diagram, growling deeply with eyes that glowed like flames.

At his command, it unleashed fire, burning all the grass around them and the centipedes that came out of the truck Hinata drove. After burning everything down, including the two agents responsible, Ichiro turned to the others.

He clenched his teeth.

"If you’re infected, step forward... now." He looked into their eyes. "We will examine ourselves publicly. Everyone, right here. I don’t care if you’re a woman. Remove your clothes now!"

He bellowed.

Everyone began to remove their clothes, including him. As they removed one piece of clothing after another, battle-hardened soldiers trembled. Some were bolder and didn’t even flinch as they removed their clothes.

Ken calmly took off his armour with speed despite how cumbersome it would seem to remove such medieval gear.

His hands trembled as he reached for his katana. Within himself, he was ready to pierce his katana through his chest with honour, but if not, then he would have to cut down those who were infected.

These were men and women whom he ate with, laughed with, sometimes disagreed, but still, he knew them.

At that moment, there was a sharp, shaky breath from a bold-faced agent who didn’t expect to see two centipedes already in his body. A third was halfway in, and he didn’t even feel it slipping into his body.

His eyes went wide, and the next moment, his head was off.

Ken flicked the blood off his katana, then slowly sheathed it. "Burn him," he muttered.

Right then, four agents turned to flee as they summoned portals, but those portals cracked and died as Ken flashed with uncanny speed, taking off their heads and slicing them apart before they could even form a thought.

Blood splattered on Hinata’s face, causing her to tremble. She quickly wiped it off as if the blood was no different from acid, then her eyes went to Ken, who slowly sheathed his katana as his hands trembled nonstop.

Ichiro’s tiger burnt the infected before they came back together.

"These people came here to fight for their nation. They don’t deserve this end." Ichiro grieved as he looked at the burning infected agents.

"By the way, I heard a flute. It’s the second time, and it causes them to act out." Takeshi said with heavy breaths.

"I heard nothing." Ken responded.

"I heard it," Hinata said as she unleashed her summon and mounted it. This was where she could feel safe.

They all looked at Ichiro, who frowned. "I heard nothing."

"But we all heard it in the town. Does that mean we only hear it when we’re around the infected?" a female agent with a pretty, baby-faced face covered with sweat from fear asked.

"Or when there’s a centipede around. Most likely in a host," Ken added. "Secondly, I think we’re being attacked, so we won’t be able to make it back to the gate."

"That must mean something has happened in Tokyo." Ichiro clenched his fist.

"I don’t think so. There’s no doubt an infection must have gotten there, but I think it’s dormant and it’s spreading. If we don’t get there on time, when that flute sounds, it might not just be Tokyo but Japan as a whole." Ken’s grim revelation made everyone solemn.

"Let’s kill that boss then," Takeshi declared.

"Can we?" Hinata asked.

"There’s no other choice. Japan has a better chance if we kill that boss. At least the team still has twenty-two agents. We’re not infected, we’re—!"

A soft sound drifted past them. The sound of the bamboo flute. The blades of grass around the burnt area where they stood tilted to the sudden breeze. It seemed more like a mocking laughter.

All the agents looked at themselves.

"Do not touch your guns!" Ichiro bellowed, then approached the pretty, baby-faced agent who was frantically pointing at everyone with fright in her eyes.

He placed his hand on the muzzle with care, then slowly made her lower it as he drew close. "This won’t help us."

Ichiro turned his head to the others. "It won’t. There’s a mastermind behind this—!"

All of a sudden, a huge centipede burst out of the baby-faced agent’s mouth and clamped down on Ichiro’s head from behind, digging its sharp legs into his skull and piercing his eyeballs.

It unleashed a loud screech as everyone watched their commander fall to his knees. Even Ken did not expect there was someone who had been infected for a long time in their midst.

It was foolish to think those centipedes would only crawl close to the surface. They could just as well hide, and no one would find them.

All the clues they gathered were a joke.

Two more centipedes came out from her back. A sight so grotesque, a some agents couldn’t resist throwing up.

Unfortunately, some of them vomited tiny centipedes, causing them to realise they might as well have been infected and the centipedes had left eggs in them.

The horror on their faces reflected in Ken’s eyes.

"Alas... we were doomed." Ken almost laughed as he unsheathed his katana. Takeshi and Hinata fled. Takeshi summoned his Blood Horse, a restricted creature that drank blood to maintain its strength.

He was restricted by the authorities on using this summon, but he didn’t care about what they said and did not say at this point.

On the other hand, Ken went for the infected. The carapace of the centipede was hard, but not hard enough to stop Ken’s blade.

It sliced all of them apart. His yells pierced the air as he kept cutting his teammates into chunks of minced meat.

His eyes lit up at the end.

’Way Of Flames.’

Ken sheathed his katana, and as he unsheathed it, it sparked several times, then flames burst out, coating the blade.

He used it to burn all of them, including Ichiro and his summon, which died the same moment its summoner fell.

The day was long gone due to his hours of mindless hacking and slashing. And so, under the dark sky and in the midst of swaying grass, Ken fell on his knees and aimed his katana at his chest while flames billowed off the blade.

’Do not... Ken.’
