Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights

Chapter 463: Arrival

Chapter 463: Arrival

Several hours later, Godfrey landed at Tokyo’s airport, and as he came out with a traveling bag, his eyes narrowed at the sight of hundreds of people with boards protesting against... him.

They were kept behind a barricade by the police and their summons, but on a lot of their boards were horrible things.

"Get back to where you came from! We don’t need you!" a woman screamed with all her power as Godfrey silently walked past them, forcing him to pause.

He tilted his head toward her. The moment the woman saw those black sclera and golden pupils directed at her, she shivered, turning her head to the left and right to make sure people were still with her.

Some people threw stones from behind, but those stones paused mid-air as Godfrey made his way to the barricade.

"I think you should leave quickly," a policeman said.

Godfrey nodded at him, then looked at the woman. "I’m also human." With that, he turned and walked away as the woman first frowned, her eyes locked on him as her expression shifted into realisation.

On the other hand, Godfrey shook his head softly. The public were just pieces that tilted every which way the one at the head wanted them.

What made it worse was that they had no knowledge of it. All their clamouring, all the ugly symbols of him and his knights, all their yelling meant nothing to him right now.

These same people would be singing the praises of his name in a different situation. Unfortunately, they all thought they had individual thoughts. How come everyone had all this pride, supposed self-awareness, yet they could follow after lies and bash the truth without care for the other man?

Godfrey knew if he were to think too deeply about his race, he would flinch in disgust. The weak were seen as disgusting and made an outcast, yet the weak had the largest numbers, so where was the love?

The strong were not seen as people anymore but as objects of power. The strong were public property. People were entitled to his help because it made him ’good,’ in their opinion but no one was there when he built himself, when he walked into dungeons.

All he could do now was focus on the objective and put his hope in the fact that there were good people out there, and most of them needed help.

Without Arthur keeping the major dungeons in check, he might not have been able to grow in a somewhat safe environment. It was his turn now but somehow, it seemed the public didn’t even take the time to consider, what if he got infected?

He wasn’t magically immune.

Godfrey shook his head and went into a car that came to pick him up. It drove him straight to the Ministry of Defence in the Ichigaya District of Shinjuku.

It was built to look similar to what the old one looked like, but Godfrey had no idea what the old structure looked like, so he couldn’t honestly appreciate the heritage they tried to preserve.

It was just another building where he was going to talk about going into a dungeon. A place where life and death were always in the balance.

Dungeons were like surgeries. You never knew which one could result in death.

And so, after forty minutes in a car, he went into the building and was led upstairs to an office.

The moment he walked into the office, Godfrey felt a pair of sharp eyes lock onto him. The air shifted. It felt quite heavy.

And so his eyes landed on the man clad in armour. He was dressed like a samurai, with a mask that only exposed his eyes.

Behind the desk sat Mrs. Fukushima and not Minister Haruto, the man Godfrey was expecting.

He lifted an eyebrow, then sat down. "Where is the minister?"

"Not impressed? You’re sitting before one of the Seven Heads." Mrs. Fukushima leaned back with a smirk.

Godfrey tilted his head but didn’t respond.

Mrs. Fukushima clenched her teeth behind her proud smirk. She leaned forward, crossing her arms. "The people of Japan are unhappy."

"Should I leave then?"

Godfrey’s response made her smirk, but her eyes hardened as she clenched harder, then exhaled.

"You’ll be going into that dungeon with Ken. He’s one of our best." She gestured toward Ken, who stood beside her.

Godfrey glanced at the man dressed as a samurai.

"If you won’t go with him, then we refuse to allow you to clear the gate, get the boss’s core, and still be paid."

Godfrey looked at her. "As long as he doesn’t get in my way. I also won’t guarantee his safety. If you agree to those terms, then I don’t have a problem."

"I agree. Now about the payment—"

"I won’t be discussing that. You’ll speak with Selyne Pendragon." Godfrey interrupted her calmly.

"I see." She nodded.

"I’ll head to my reservation. We’ll raid the gate tomorrow," Godfrey said to Ken, then left.

Mrs. Fukushima turned to the young man. "What do you think about him?"

"There are many powerful people on Earth, but he’s one of a kind. He’s the only wanted man who walks free, makes contracts with the same government that wants him locked up, and even speaks with those at the very top of this government in the heart of the most agent-filled place in the nation—two nations now—and no one is able to lay a hand on him." Ken muttered. "That’s a stunning kind of power."

Mrs. Fukushima forced a smile.

"He made himself indispensable. But once both of you kill the boss of that dungeon, ensure the Council of the Heads’ interests come next. That is your main mission."

Ken faced her.

"What if I fail?"

"Then don’t make it through that gate alive. It’s your choice. There are still talents out there. I’m sure you can be replaced." She glanced at him.

’A talent like you can’t be replaced that easily, if that’s even possible, but I can’t let you know that, and even if you did, I’ll kick that thought right out. Godfrey is a growing threat. A powerful man with no love for his government is a cancer that we’re accommodating. You will cut that cancer off, Ken. I don’t care if you want to or not.’

A/N:: I’m sorry. There was a mistake. I uploaded the wrong Chapter first because I was following a song and forgot myself.

This is the correct one and that Chapter is much longer so I have to write all this. I would not have written a long Chapter and all this problem would have been evaded. This is frustrating. I’ve been feeling down for a few days now and it’s been affecting my schedule a lot but I’m determined to finish it. And I think that commitment has allowed me to hold on enough that I’m bouncing back.

Just stick with me.

That aside, we’re going to be hosting an event in the server.

A Fan Fic short story.
