Chapter 1683: No-Name (13)

Chapter 1683: No-Name (13)

In abject disbelief, the brief collision of powers and tactics left the eight Sages dumbfounded. Wei Wuyin, this Worldly Saint Alchemist, wielded terrifying great physical prowess that far exceeded any of their expectations. As if drenched by the rain of realization, they somewhat understood why Wei Wuyin's true cultivation base was surprisingly low yet his combat strength and status were enough to dominate galaxies! A physical body that was capable of exhibiting strength on par with or surpassing a Sage, as well as a highly abnormal Spiritual Strength that guarded his Sea of Consciousness. They've tried several tactics, both long-range spells and short-range melee, but this Worldly Saint Alchemist had properly defended against all of them!

"How is he so monstrous?!"

Sage Khonshu asked through the invisible, discreet network of spiritual connection between the eight Sages, all facilitated and maintained by Sage Amunet. By using this spiritual network, the eight Sages could rapidly communicate their ideas, thoughts, observations, and calculations of combat between them, as well as seek assistance, alert others of their movements, and gain information. The transmissions weren't just discreetly made, difficult to invade or observe, but they were all instant with zero delay. The concept of instant transmissions was unbelievably useful, but this level of connection required a unity of exceedingly high level, and only by the virtue of their Cultivation Art obtained from the False Doors were they capable of executing this spiritual network flawlessly.

"Focus!"

Sage Amunet's voice was like rippling through the depths of water through the network, distinguishing her from the rest, and she hastily reminded Sage Khonshu to not be shaken in heart or mind by any of Wei Wuyin's surprising revelations. After all, their entire galaxy was on the line! Additionally, he was attacking!

In her cloudy eyes, the temporal haze of Wei Wuyin's peerless figure moving towards Sage Hathor and Sage Imentet with explosive and unbelievable speed occurred. Then, he used a tactic of repelling Sage Imentet's defensive and stalling efforts and shot toward Sage Hathor with disastrous momentum. This was as far as she could see.

"Shattered Sphinx, unleash your fastest attack two hundred and twenty-seven meters ahead of Sage Hathor in 0.0032s! Imentet, use the Hidden Desert Art: Sandstorm's Embrace immediately after blocking World-Saint Neo-Dawn! Hathor, retreat ten thousand miles immediately! Sage Pakhet, keep on his tail! Sage Khonshu…"

Sage Amunet communicated clearly to each. Wei Wuyin observed Sage Hathor's healing arts, and his alchemic star eyes glinted with a cautious light. Rarely does one find a healer on the battlefield, and they weren't just exceedingly rare within a Battlefield, but an extreme threat. The ability to heal injuries is only the baseline of their strength, but given her cultivation of Life Energy as her basis of power, she was likely ineffective in combat.

He thought for a bit, and then with a small step, his body flickered as a thunderous boom left behind by his explosive wake of raw speed. The air exploded and the light distorted with that single step! Sage Imentet was on guard and ready to defend Sage Hathor. In his eyes, this made sense given her status and use on the battlefield. She used her Heavenly Treasure which was already on the verge of being destroyed and projected a massive shield. Wei Wuyin didn't use any superfluous means and struck with a single fist backed by his draconic might. A faint roar echoed in the air and a clash of epic proportions unfolded!

With space, time, light, mana, and gravity twisting wildly from the impact. The level at which they were fighting could be regarded as godly by mere mortals. They truly could shatter starfields with every gesture and damage stellar regions! Sage Imentet violently reeled back as she was pushed away by the fist, her luscious lips leaking inky black blood that seemed to contain bits of grains of black sand and traces of white milky liquid. Her injuries aside, her determination and willpower to protect Sage Hathor gave Wei Wuyin a shock suffused with admiration and respect. He hadn't held back on that fist. While it was his base form's fist, it was backed by his physical body and empowered by the flow of his mystic force! While he hadn't maximized or fully refined his foundation, physique, and bloodline, his physical strength was utterly peerless and extremely monstrous at the moment. He couldn't kill Enlightened Sage Springfield with a single blow, but he could inflict minor injuries each time.

Sage Imentet's defense and response only showed that her defensive power and bodily resilience far exceeded the norm, and despite her beautifully tantalizing body and visage, she was a force to be reckoned with! That said…the incurred damage on her Heavenly Treasure verified Wei Wuyin's thoughts!

Crack! Crack!

Sage Imentet ignored her cracking shield as she executed an Ascension Art after being blown back!

Hidden Desert Art: Sandstorm's Embrace!

This was, of course, a peak Ascension Art! Wei Wuyin was racing toward Sage Hathor after being briefly delayed due to throwing that fist when his vision was shrouded by a sandy world of black and white. All of time and space, sense of direction and thought, was slowly disrupted and dissonance was impressed upon every aspect. Wei Wuyin, for the briefest moment, felt disoriented by the flurry of sand. After deducing that it was an effect that could induce multi-layered dissonance, he dispelled the effects with a thought and a single hand-seal.

Barely 0.002s had passed when he pushed through the sandstorm and exited. He immediately witnessed Sage Hathor retreating with all her might at this moment. She didn't even look back and was flying away at top speed. Once again, he explosively accelerated.

Boom!

Sage Hathor cultivated Life Energy and wasn't considered fast, strong, or sturdy by any definition of a Sage. In truth, she could be considered less than ordinary, but killing her was extremely difficult. Wei Wuyin intended to temporarily cripple her to prevent her healing abilities from coming into play. When she heard Wei Wuyin's accelerating boom, her heart was completely calm and she didn't look back as she made a direct dash toward Sage Khonshu, who was already rushing to intercept her. Wei Wuyin's eyes brightened slightly as he saw her completely ignore his fast approach. But he didn't put too much thought into it, and he clenched his right fist as dragon scales formed on his hand and forearm. With a partial transformation, his draconic might would increase by manyfold. This punch could kill an ordinary Sage! At least, by his estimation.

Sage Hathor was simply not fast. Wei Wuyin arrived just three hundred meters from her with ease, yet just as he reached this point, his natural and unnatural instincts towards danger wildly alerted him. With a short breath, he rapidly rushed toward Sage Hathor and then shot upwards after reaching roughly two hundred meters of her.

An invisible wave of sound passed through the area. Wei Wuyin looked at the space where it passed as he floated above, ignoring how Sage Hathor found safety with Sage Khonshu as the latter unleashed a blinding light from his crescent-shaped mirror. The space was…unharmed?

With a flick of his head, he discovered its source: Sage Shattered Sphinx!

"Sound-based Mystic Power?"

Wei Wuyin thought as he hadn't expected the man cloaked in a flowing sand robe would have that particular power. These types of cultivators were difficult to deal with, and they were extremely insidious. For example, that sound wave had merged with all the ambient sound and adjusted flawlessly, even copying the fluctuations of energy and power of the area. Without his keen senses, he would have been struck without realizing it. But…given the mind-boggling speed at which the Sages and those at their level moved, direct sound waves like that were a little too…slow.

"How did he predict my movements so precisely?"

Wei Wuyin immediately checked his Bloodline of Sin tattoo, including his established protections against divinations, and he was a little confused. Was Sage Shattered Sphinx simply that intelligent or was he that predictable? Before he could consider it further, in dogged pursuit from the beginning, Sage Pakhet arrived with savage momentum, sending out yet another slash at full strength! Wei Wuyin turned his body slightly, and then unleashed a punch with his partially transformed hand!

BOOM!!

Golden sword met a draconic fist as catastrophic powers violently clashed! The entire area was blown apart. Then—

BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!!!

Sage Amunet hurriedly executed a few discreet hand-seals, her cloudy eyes projecting manifestations of upcoming events.

"My strongest attack isn't enough!"

Sage Pakhet's voice rippled through their spiritual network, containing dissatisfaction and a tinge of rowdy excitement. She was, while fighting Wei Wuyin in a melee, communicating her thoughts. This perfectly showed that communicating using the spiritual network detracted nothing and required barely any concentration to use, allowing her to maintain her peak attentive state in a fierce and lethal melee.

Sage Amunet adjusted her Divination Art, her cloudy eyes thinning as events unfolded at a different pace.

"Hathor, go to the northwest region and be ready to catch and retrieve! Khonshu, follow her! Nepit, when Pakhet is unable to hold on—"

Wei Wuyin steadied his actions as he focused on attacking Sage Pakhet with his physical body, testing the limits of his strength against a Sage wielding a Heavenly Treasure. Without his true dragon scales, he wouldn't dare to take those sword strikes using his physical body, but with them, he could easily repel her slicing attacks.

"What a fierce woman you are!"

Wei Wuyin commented admiring her ferocity and savage will for battle. With a heavy breath, his two hands, forearms, biceps, and shoulders all gained dragon scales as he pushed the extent of his partial transformation. After doing so, he unleashed a three-fist combo. The first fist clashed with her khopesh as her expression grew ashen pale from exhaustion. The second fist shattered her Mystic Aura and impacted her midsection. The third fist pushed through her attack despite being perfectly timed in its release after taking the second fist to deal mutual damage and striking her chest.

Bone-shattering sounds erupted as her sternum was crushed and she was blown back at lightning-speed. Despite that, before Wei Wuyin could follow up with a decisive kick to end it, she twisted her body like her body was formed of clay, as flexible as one could imagine, and used her free hand to claw at Wei Wuyin. Seeing her relentless attack, Wei Wuyin was inevitably forced to block with a swipe of his hand, dissipating the attack, but enough for her to get a few hundred miles away in the blink of an eye. Before he could do anything, she was pulled away by a large cloud hand that released rejuvenating fluctuations.

Sage Hathor! She pulled her to the northwestern region of the battlefield. Wei Wuyin's eyes and spiritual sense were immediately besieged by the lunar light of the crescent-shaped mirror, threatening to harm his Sea of Consciousness. The Celestial Eyes was immune to such tactics, so he ignored it. But couldn't ignore Sage Nepit's fully prepared spells, once again generating a grainy swirl at his glabella, and beneath his feet, a similar swirl formed. Spiritual chains formed of grains attached themselves to his body, wanting to embed themselves into his meridians and affect his circulation of energies and mystic power.

"Their coordination is flawless!"

Wei Wuyin broke the two spells with a swipe of his hand and a light stomp of his feet, just like before. But his heart pounded with amazement from just these brief clashes!
