Paragon Of Sin

Chapter 1691: No-Name (21)

Chapter 1691: No-Name (21)

Whether it was Sage Pakhet, who sensed her heavenly metal power vanished abruptly, or Wei Wuyin, who sensed Sage Pakhet's savage presence bore upon him at its fullest extent as she adjusted to her unfamiliar strength, they both felt a deadly sensation of great crisis within their very soul. They both had a lot at stake. They couldn't lose.

They can't lose.

For the first time, genuine killing intent began to manifest. Neither was going to hold back.

Glowing with the grace of a golden divinity, peerless and savage, with the heart of a lioness, Sage Pakhet appeared before Wei Wuyin in a lowered, near-pouncing stance. She was on all fours, her body flexible and her eyes intensely focused. With an explosive spin, she launched a whirlwind-inducing kick with her left leg, using her other three limbs to maintain her balance.

Wei Wuyin's heart was roaring, yet his mind was excessively clear; calmly taking a step back, all of Wei Wuyin's muscles flexed as he braved through the rushing gales, and struck out with a palm with the intent to eviscerate anything he touched with his full strength. The air erupted into a frenzy as space and light twisted. Wei Wuyin dug his legs into the world, solidifying the ambient mana around him. It wasn't enough.

BOOSH!!

Blasted away while inundated by heavenly metal power, Wei Wuyin found himself uncontrollably flung away. Moreover, Wei Wuyin's scales had shattered as blood leaked through his ruptured skin around his right hand. His entire right hand was destroyed.

'Her physical strength vastly exceeds my own!' Earlier, Wei Wuyin had lost in a direct clash not once but twice. It was far too much to expect his current physical cultivation, a First level Mark of Mystic Myth, an unestablished Mystic Physique, and an unmaximize Mystic Star Cultivation Base to rival a Sage wielding a Major Law with their body as a medium, especially not Sage Pakhet, a cultivator that specializes in physical battle.

After verifying his inferiority in this aspect, he was about to change tact. Kratos might have discovered a unique ability, but unfortunately it wouldn't be very useful without exploring the depths. A few seconds wasn't enough. He barely had time to think.

Sage Pakhet sensed her superiority in physical combat, and like a lioness hunting its weakened prey, she pounced relentlessly yet again by clenching at the ground, turning it into raw gold, before kicking off and vanishing before heaven and earth.

Wei Wuyin switched hands as he used his left hand to strike. He didn't have much time to do anything else as his current internal flow of energies was haphazardly disturbed by the last clash. His left hand was destroyed as well. His fingers bent, his bones cracked, and his scales blown off. As he was blown away again, his right hand had already healed. The miraculous rejuvenating ability of the Stellar-Paragon Physique was showing itself. Wei Wuyin pushed his physique's recovery to its furthest by expending innate energies, greatly improving the rate of his regeneration.

By the time Sage Pakhet was above him, kicking downwards at his head, ready to deliver a devastatingly lethal finishing blow, Wei Wuyin used his right arm to block as his wings unfurled, causing it to suffer greater damage than before. If not for his incredible durability, he would have lost his arm entirely. With a flap of his Infinite Void Wings, he flickered away into the void in the blink of Sage Pakhet's eye.

"..." Sage Pakhet's eyes constricted at the sudden disappearance, but she was keenly focused and attuned to her heavenly power. Her golden eyes erupted with blinding light, enough to outshine a star, and her head darted to the side. She opened her mouth, her stance was feral, and she SCREAMED!

This wasn't a roar, but a primal scream at an unsettling volume that could scare ghosts, demons, and devils. The entire realm began fracturing at its seams as golden light tried invading from all over, spewing out like it was bleeding. The sight was apocalyptic!

A hazy figure a few hundred miles away appeared as if from thin air. The figure stumbled slightly in mid-air, clearly not expecting this development.

Wei Wuyin's heart and soul was shaken to the absolute extreme! She forced him out of the void?! The void had been disturbed! He could feel that re-entering it would be profoundly difficult and lead to lethal implications!

Before Wei Wuyin could figure out how this was done, Sage Pakhet had already leapt toward him with both claws aiming at his torso, threatening to split him into bloody twine. She crossed the distance of a hundred miles with absurd ease.

Wei Wuyin was about to avoid a direct clash again, his Infinite Void Wings were not only for Void Shifting or Void Concealment, but they could directly improve his bodily movement through space. Then, he would unleash his Alpha Origin Mystic Force to exhaust Sage Pakhet, wasting her remaining seconds with endless obstacles and conjurations of elemental dragons.

However, just as he was about to take that step back, retreating once again, an unwilling roar echoed in his heart.

Kratos!

Before he could properly figure out why, Sage Pakhet was already slicing at him, and his reaction, although it was impossibly swift, almost instants, was enough for him to lose his window of opportunity. A tiny distraction could determine life or death—in battles between high-level cultivators, this was absolutely true.

Wei Wuyin hastily reinforced his body with Mystic Force and Bloodline Energy.

The horrific sound of metal, flesh, and blood clashing and spilling could be heard throughout the realm as a figure was sent flying back at startling speeds, crashing into the partially transformed ground of pure gold. A large crater formed.

Wei Wuyin was the epicenter of the crater, and his state was far from good. His body had thousands of lacerations, with the ten largest originating from the claws themselves, that went so deep that one could see his damaged stomach, a single remaining lung, a chunk of his left leg hanging by a thin thread of leg, and a neck that was bloodied, rapidly healing with everything it could muster. If not for his strong body repeatedly refined by many opportunities and tempered by alchemical products, he would have perished right then and there.

He was in a horrendous state. Nightmarish, even.

"I can do this." Kratos' voice resounded in his heart. It was staunch in resolve and unyielding in spirit.

"..." Wei Wuyin was about to speak as he readied to unfurl his Worldly Domain to set the stage for a different, more effective tactic with Ori as the forefront. He didn't think this was cowardly as testing out the Resilience of his Alpha Origin Mystic Force again such a supremely powerful existence was his goal to begin with!

"I can do this!" Kratos repeated firmly.

Wei Wuyin's bloodied brows furrowed. He could already feel a sensation of a deadly crisis arriving, blaring with increasing intensity each passing millisecond—Sage Pakhet was coming! She was surging with killing intent, and she would ensure her prey was dead before ever relaxing.

"I CAN DO THIS!" Kratos roared.

"..." Ori.

"..." King.

"..." Eden.

Amongst the four Spirits, Kratos possessed the most daring ego. It dared to say with the utmost confidence and pride that nothing could halt its steps, either to leave or to enter, not even Hell itself! Yet, Sage Pakhet had triumphed over the entirety of its identity and powers in a short few exchanges, to the point that Wei Wuyin was already deciding to swap tactics and relegate its role.

Physical strength? Loss.

Physical speed? Loss.

Void Shifting? Prevented.

Void Concealment? Prevented!

It was humiliating to admit one's inadequacies, especially for a True Dragon. It was harder to accept when it was abundantly clear that it was true!

Wei Wuyin rapidly accelerated his thoughts using an enormous amount of mental energy, far exceeding his norm, just so he can ask a single question:

"What can you do?"

Meanwhile, Sage Pakhet had grown ever familiar with her physical body, and it was utterly intoxicating to her. This was incredible! While her entire body was initially under a tremendous pressure and she felt pain so unbearable that the torture of a thousand cuts would pale in comparison, she was feeling absolutely phenomenal now. Perhaps it was her exerting 110% of her strength with each blow, alleviating some of that pressure. Perhaps it was just her raw adaptability. Perhaps it was something else entirely! But she knew that she was getting stronger, faster, and her resonance with the heavens were increasing!

She felt the urge to roar!

Without any hesitation, she lifted her head, poured all of her strength into a single roar!

ROAR!!!

The roar of a lioness was fantastic! And she felt equally as fantastic! Was this the power that Supreme Sages, those at the Resonant Soul Realm, felt?! Was this their power?! While she was forcefully resonating the Laws with her physical body, this had to be the closest state to a Supreme Sage!

She was ready to end this! Her eyes focused on Wei Wuyin across time, space, and all physical obstacles. Just as she laid her eyes on him, her heart shook.

"I CAN WIN!!!"
