Chapter 1885: Chapter 1877: A Sword's Curse

Growing Immortality Galactic Zone, Northwestern Region's Swirling Growth Stellar Region.

Within one of its tens of thousands of starfields, the Tiny Heart Starfield existed. It contained a dwarf-sized solar star of the smallest classification possible with four Mystic Radiance Belts circulating its form, and orbiting around its greatly life-sustaining and nourishing form was a medium-sized planet.

It was originally named differently upon creation, but had its name changed by the lone World Emperor born from it after becoming its most exceptional native, reigning supreme as its greatest talent, unmatched across its entire history. It was known by its inhabitants as Bloom. A simple name. As for the World Emperor, she was known as the Blooming Smile World Emperor.

She was classified as the most beautiful across the planet's entire history. Her shine was dazzling as her talent, endless suitors across the planet's highest-ranking members and greatest talents. In the end, she married Hao Chengxue—the Dustpath Alchemic Saint, as his fourth wife.

Upon this unassuming planet with middling cultivation achievements across its historical legacy, only elevated by the marriage with a Worldly Saint Alchemist and Manager of the Utmost Purity Hall in the region, was a small farm tended to by a mother-daughter pair.

The young girl of no more than eleven years old, was sweaty, covered in dirt and grime, a sign of hard work and diligence. She had experience that could put experienced farmers to shame, and her cultivation base at the Seventh Stage of the Qi Condensation, the Sublime Qi Phase, marked her as an extraordinary talent of youth.

She pulled out a carrot-like vegetable by its stem, exposing to the world a bulging green body and sharp purple tips with a hearty yank. It was fat. Seeing this, her eyes widened with a glow. The size was enough to be worth three at the market, and if they marketed it as valuable and unique, a rare find, they could charge four or five times.

As she felt deep satisfaction, a voice resounded from afar: "Bring the harvest you have in, Little Lili!"

"Okay, mama!" She tossed the vegetable into a full woven bamboo basket. Then, with her qi circulating within her, she gathered great strength as she lifted the basket with a huff and then placed it on her head. Using it as balancing training, she regulated her qi as she rushed toward the house. They were a rather simple resident, formed by logs and stones. However, they were carefully crafted with love and care, meant to last for decades.

It was one of the greatest creations of her late father.

After she entered the door with a triumphant laugh, she placed the basket down as she ran to take a bath. Only after cleaning herself thoroughly, ensuring the table wouldn't be dirtied, or the food her mother worked hard to cook wouldn't be tainted by the outside. She ran over, sat upright in her chair, and stayed at the ready. A middle-aged woman was dealing with the fire that was burning. At the table was a series of great vegetable dishes with various meats. The smell was absolutely heavenly.

The middle-aged woman had age lines around her eyes, and her hair was greying sooner than it should, a sign of stress that came with single motherhood. However, when she turned around to see the clean little girl who was respectfully waiting for her to finish up, the vibrancy of her younger days could be seen.

She sat down and they ate, silently enjoying every morsel present, leaving the plates bare and the cups empty. Little Lili silently waited for her mother to finish, and then with a hearty smile, she began to move to pick up the dishes. She would clean them.

Looking at her dutiful and intelligent daughter, gratification emerged in her heart, tainted by a splash of guilt. If only her father were still here.

"Do you think Uncle Su will visit again?" While cleaning the dishes, the young girl asked. She recalled the bloodied figure that had landed on their farm when she was only five, about six years ago. He was silent most of the time while there, serious and single-mindedly passionate about recovering, yet he treated the mother-daughter pair respectfully and became a part of the family, tending the farms and teaching her about cultivation.

Hearing that name, the middle-aged woman's eyes grew dazed as memories of the past flooded her mind. Her heart subconsciously skipped a few beats. She was at her wits' end then, scared of the future, on the verge of losing the farm, and her emotional state was near collapse. If not for him falling from the sky as if a blessing from the heavens, bringing hope and protecting them against those that sought to take advantage of her and Little Lili, perhaps she would have been forced to become a maidservant and Little Lili…potentially worse.

"He promised he'll come back, so he must come back!" Little Lili slowed down her cleaning of the dishes, her voice trembling. She didn't know why she felt the urge to speak out his name.

"He'll come back. We just have to live well, I'm sure of it. You'd better not slack off on your cultivation until then!" The middle-aged woman smiled, hiding the bittersweet feelings in her heart.

"I WON'T! Even after! I'm training every day. When Uncle Su returns, he'll be in for a shock! I might even be stronger than him! Hehe!" Little Lili grew energetic, laughing at the thought of giving her teacher a heart-piercing shock. Her cleaning efforts doubled in both effectiveness and energy, even adding water qi and alchemic qi, ensuring everything was incredibly clean and purified.

As she finished up, she grabbed an empty basket and was ready to finish the harvest.

"Only one more basket full, okay?" the middle-aged woman said with a smile.

"Okay, mama! One more basket!" Little Lili moved with a quickness, jetting out of the door. The middle-aged woman felt that this energetic girl was bound to bring a surprise to that man. She touched her thighs, recalling the feeling of his tender touch that night. She touched her lips, remembering the warmth of his lips. She touched her lower abdomen, reminiscing about his… "AH!" A cry resounded outside.

The middle-aged woman's maternal instincts kicked in, and despite her lack of cultivation, she moved to the door in a hurry, finding a dropped basket and a young girl staring at the sky in a daze.

"Little Lili? What happened?"

Then, the young woman was turned around by her. The middle-aged woman exclaimed in horror. She was crying, seven colors leaking from her eyes as a steady, unceasing stream. Unbeknownst to her, as it flowed, not stopping at all, all the alchemic talent innately within her body was stripped away along with the flow of those tears.

No longer will she be able to consume alchemical pills made by an alchemist under the Heavenly Saint Alchemist-level or those attained the Alchemic Stars of Transcendent Purity. Her future was…severed.

"I think…something happened to Uncle Su…" Her gaze never left the sky, and her voice was laced with grim sadness.

-----

All eyes of every single alchemist across the galaxy were drawn to a single location. Not a single alchemist could resist staring unblinkingly in that direction, even if it was beneath their feet.

They looked.

They cried.

A Heavenly Saint Alchemist had perished.

-----

Wei Wuyin felt Kratos' throb ferociously with the force of thunder strikes as Eden's roots trembled with wild rage, entrenched by a profound sadness that was indescribable. Touching his face, he could feel the alchemical essence within, containing abnormally pure power. It pulsed with power. Exhausted itself to an unknown purpose.

Wei Wuyin interfaced with his Alchemic Stars and deciphered the origin of the curse, its effects, and how it was transmitted. It took only a moment to do so, and all the information regarding the curse was exposed. At this point, his Alchemic Stars of Unparalleled Creation rivaled the Alchemic Stars of Pure Enlightenment, the fourth level of the Alchemic Stars, one level above Transcendent Purity after his concoction of the transcendent Edict Potion.

He could sense a familiar force.

Karmic Ties?

Only a Supreme Sage or Seer could cast such an intricate curse that affected one's karmic ties. Perhaps a typical Alchemic Soul Heavenly Saint Alchemist beneath the Resonant Soul Realm couldn't achieve such a powerful curse that could affect karmic ties.

The target was Su Yi; the effects caused the dispersal of Alchemic Talent and a forbiddance of the consumption and refinement of alchemical products beneath the Mortal-Rank, reducing the effectiveness of Mystic-Earth grade products to 1%, Mystic-World to 10% effectiveness, and Mystic-Heaven to 50% effectiveness, unless they were concocted of his own devised lineage, the only exception.

Any products taken that were concocted by the curse-caster would be completely ineffective, regardless of grade. Furthermore, this curse extended across the good karmic ties of Su Yi. Those who've earned or possessed good karma through their direct or indirect interactions, potentially affecting thousands, perhaps even millions.

If he saved an entire planet, that entire planet's population at the time would likely be affected.

If Su Yi's life was filled with heroism and debts on a stellar region-scale, this could extend to billions or trillions.

The last effect was a mark that only those of the Alchemic Stars could perceive, and it would inform the party that they were the slayer of an alchemist. Branded as a curse-possessor for all to see. If an alchemist wanted to assist Su Yi, they would be affected by the curse, potentially harming the foundation of their Alchemic Talent.

Unless an alchemist who possessed the Alchemic Stars of Transcendent Purity, whose cultivation base was at the Resonant Soul Realm, decided to accept mutual destruction to eradicate the curse, harming their innate alchemic talent and backlash, Su Yi would never be able to eradicate this brand.

An Alchemist who possessed the Alchemic Stars of Pure Enlightenment or higher could do so, even without the cultivation base requirement. That was the difference in authority. Even if a judge could place you in prison for eternity, the leader of a nation could pardon you with a single stroke of their pen or a spoken word.

Gaining all this information, he was stunned; Su Yi had decided to kill a Heavenly Saint Alchemist out of rage, and the consequences were not minor. This was only the late alchemist's vengeful curse, and the death of a Heavenly Saint Alchemist within the Utmost Purity Galaxy, who saw alchemists as protected in status and existence, was another thing altogether!

Su Yi's Sword of the Transient Realm hovered at his back, humming a sword hymn of murder and quiet but unrestrained anger. He held Sovereign Primal Star tenderly, yet the head of Sovereign Littlefinger, whose eyes were lifelessly dim, flickering with eternal regret and disbelief, twisted by fear and shock.

The Resonant Soul of Sovereign Littlefinger was devoured by the Sword of the Transient Realm, reduced to nigh-infinite little pieces, ending his existential presence within this universe for all of eternity.

There was no Temporal Reversion.

There was no path to revival.

There was no opportunity for resurrection or possession.

Only very special exceptions existed, but only the power to move the universe, the very fabric of time and space, allowed such miracles. No one was coming to perform that for him.

All the Supreme Sages were silent. Either they were shocked, in complete disbelief, or felt as if the world had gone insane.

Sovereign Vilesnow was killed by the suicidal attack of Sovereign She-Devil Sword.

Sovereign Littlefinger was killed by Su Yi.

If Wei Wuyin hadn't interfered, three Supreme Sages would have lost their lives here today. An unprecedented occurrence for the ages. Far outside the expectations of every living thing in the galaxy.

And while Sovereign Vilesnow's death was unexpectedly tragic, it hadn't moved them much. He was facing a wildcard, and he was foolish enough to let himself die alongside a younger, less experienced cultivator. While shocked by the result, it was something they could accept.

Two Supreme Sages dying together.

But Sovereign Littlefinger was different. He was a Heavenly Saint Alchemist, he was a Supreme Sage, and he belonged to the Seven Towers of the Heavenly Sages, a transcendent superpower of the Utmost Purity Galaxy, and while the level of respect or importance was diminished within the galaxy's culture, they were ALL Supreme Sages with Heavenly Alchemic Saint-level wealth, even if it was at the lower-end of the spectrum.

Every alchemist felt his death like a gut-punch by a Spartan. More importantly, Su Yi had activated an unprecedented death curse, unable to resist it as a Mystic Ascendant Realm cultivator who had yet to attain the True Sage Phase. He not only implicated every last individual he was connected to, but he was also unable to effectively use alchemical products to progress until the curse was lifted, even as an alchemist.

Moreover, it would slowly begin to erode his alchemic talent.

Wei Wuyin was unable to halt his surgical procedure, so he could only watch as this unfolded. As an Empyrean, the karmic ties of individuals connected to him were protected, especially if they overlapped with Su Yi's good ties, and he felt it, manifesting as a sharp pain in both arms.

Su Yi's face also had seven-colored tears. He was an Alchemist who had acquired the recognition of the Alchemic Dao, so he felt the depths of its sorrow, but it did little to diminish his resolve.

Those cold eyes that resembled the frigid horrors of Hell melted away into a soft warmth as he looked at Sovereign Primal Star.

"You're too good to me." A very gentle smile formed on his lips. The sword hymn of the Sword of the Transient Realm shifted into a deeper song, alluding to a storm on the cusp of complete eruption.

He looked up. His sharp eyes pierced across space to locate Sovereign Darkmother encapsulated by Wei Wuyin's protective ward.

"Today, all our enemies will be buried by my sword."

The two Galactic Zones quivered as a Tribulation Gate manifested within the fiery zone.

Sovereign Darkmother could feel the utterly horrifying deathly glare in every fiber of her being. Her Resonant Soul shook, and her lips cried out in shock: "He's trying to ascend to the Eighth Gate of Ascension!"

Erdiul's Note: This fucking guy. Classic suicidal MC, that doesn't think about anyone but themselves. Literally everyone connected to him suffered because he couldn't keep his rage in check. Oh well, WW lost karmic luck because of him, time to return it. (If this arc doesn't end with WW curb stomping this dude, I'll be pissed. I also don't mind the other inheritor just doing the work too.)
