Chapter 1927: Chapter 1919: Forbiddance of Mysticism

As the Great Dao of Mysticism sang its worldly hymns of celebration, recognition, and declaration of unparalleled supremacy of a cultivation stage, the target of its acknowledging melody had thoroughly shaken the hearts of countless existences!

An exquisitely primordial white dragon's head exuding the profound depth of genesis had been conjured without the slightest warning outside a single finger gesture. Its gargantuan form was enough to consume celestial objects whole, and with a ferocious chomp had obliterated Incarnation and Avatars of Supreme Sages. Then, as if it were an illusion of the void, it vanished without the slightest trace upon the world.

It was an unprecedented series of extremely short events that left those capable of observing gobsmacked. Not just by the sheer power exhibited, but the various profound properties executed by a single art. More importantly, it was an Ascension Art, not a Resonant Soul Art, purely driven by the power of Mystic Power and the Ways of Mysticism, not imbued with any heavenly qualities or forces.

And then, the man who executed this art, stood aloft amongst the Dark Void, surrounded by five billion illusory Mystic Runes that exuded pure mystical brilliance, as if they were heralding the arrival of their divine champion. Beneath his feet, these illusory Mystic Runes served as the support for his steps. Around his body, they circled him protectively like loyally devoted soldiers, ready to wage war for their emperor.

The quintet of Supreme Sages was thoroughly surprised. Among the five, two had Avatars cultivated from thousands upon thousands of years of arduous effort and valuable expended resources to constitute their physical bodies, artificially emulate their Resonant Soul and Microheaven, and generate a connective consciousness. They grimaced in pain—physical and emotional, sensing the obliteration of their Avatars.

However, they were Supreme Sages, each of whom had overcome millennia of trials, tribulations, life and death challenges, and experienced severe conflict, both internally and externally. Despite those obstacles that attempted to claim their lives, that challenged them in ways mortals could barely comprehend, they had survived. Losing an Avatar or an Incarnation was only enough to instigate a momentary feeling of regret and rage.

In terms of mental stability, they were quick to gather themselves.

The quintet’s hidden locations were known to their target. This was a potential outcome they had all readied themselves for, plotting for this inevitable encounter regardless of when. To conserve resonant qi, they dispelled their various concealments, allowing those observing from the Utmost Purity Galaxy and even those curious fellows from extraordinarily far away to learn of their identities.

At the far right, a young, dark-skinned bald woman who wore an aquamarine robe that contained the essence of a hundred oceans and a thousand seas. She possessed a feminine beauty that contained an oddly exotic and serene charm with her azure-colored tribal marks. She was none other than Superior Yushi!

This was her Avatar. She was one of the three who had created an Incarnation to masquerade openly and direct attention elsewhere.

At the far left, a hulkingly tall and handsome man. His pallid complexion was evidence of his drained situation. There wasn’t a shred of resonant qi within his body; a physical body that had been rushed in its creation, lacking many critical qualities. The entire galaxy knew him as Sovereign Knight Abhorrent Sky, the Peerless Primal Pavilion’s Founding Pavilion Master!

He, too, had relied on a weak Incarnation. However, his Incarnation lacked any resonant qi, barely possessing the minimum strength of a Mystic Overlord. However, the tiny strand of his Spiritual Strength was obliterated, and blood leaked from his new body’s nostrils.

Wei Wuyin didn't recognize the other three immediately, but they all gave immensely impressive auras of a true Superior Sage.

The first was a white-robed elderly man with sleek dark hair tied into a topknot and a white-colored anchor beard. At his waist was an empty sword sheath. Upon his lips was an ever-present smile, capable of naturally instilling a sensation of discomfort. It was deceitful, full of shadowy meanings that felt false and illusory. From the signs of darkness energy within his aura, this was likely the Pavilion Master of the Peerless Shadow Pavilion, the main operator of their concealment spells.

The other was an average-looking man with cerulean hair and eyes, a pair of black and sky-blue robes, on the back of which was a young boy laughing joyously with pure innocence. All those who saw him would recognize him as the notorious leader of the Void Hunter organization, the Joy Boy Hunter Union—Sovereign Shadowjoy, also known as Superior Yijun!

Upon seeing this person, Su Yi and Chu Xing's expressions underwent a drastic change from the Neo Zenith Tower. This man had assisted them by holding back Heaven-Saint Thunderhaven during his bloody road of vengeance. Back then, Chu Xing had cried out, not for Hong Xuannu to ignite her Resonant Soul, but for this Superior Sage to act in a greater capacity to save Su Yi.

However, Heaven-Saint Thunderhaven had stopped him from acting again, leaving him no chance to interfere. Helpless, Hong Xuannu staked it all. While he had tried, the two Superior Sages held each other at bay. There was little he could do, especially given the rules of the Utmost Purity Galaxy regarding harming Heavenly Saint Alchemists. Su Yi was already marked for death before Wei Wuyin's interference.

Su Yi stood up, his eyes containing intensely flickering complex emotions. Chu Xing sent over a gaze. She, too, stood up.

"What are you doing?" Su Mei was channeling her mystic power into the gourd that contained Hong Xuannu, trying to unravel the bindings of the item to free her. Chu Xing and Su Yi had been helping, not stopping even after Wei Wuyin had made his appearance. Only when Sovereign Shadowjoy's identity was revealed did they halt, both rising, and prompting Su Mei to question their intentions. ⱤάΝОʙÈS

Su Yi glanced at this young woman. "Send us out," he bluntly said.

Chu Xing was with Su Yi. Sovereign Shadowjoy was not a mere acquaintance. They had history. Deep history. They both owed him a great debt.

Su Mei leveled a steady gaze at them both. She calmly said, "All those who have schemed against His Majesty have consigned their invitation to death."

"Send us out!" Chu Xing's voice exploded. Her aura unfurled into a raging tempest. "Or we'll open our own path."

Su Yi stayed silent, only confirming his resolve with his gaze, clearly not taking Su Mei's words to heart. However, what Su Mei did next took them both by surprise.

Su Mei opened a path. It was a physical pathway, leading outside and beyond the Neo Zenith Tower's protective barrier and manifestation. All eyes were on Wei Wuyin, and those outside were not the slightest bit interested in trying to breach the tower at the moment if Wei Wuyin wasn't there. That was their entire purpose.

As for holding his loved ones hostage, they didn't have any intention of creating a lifelong enemy in the situation of his escape. That was mortal tactics that rarely yielded solid effects.

"..." Su Mei gave Su Yi a deep, profound gaze. And then, he turned into a ray of sword light. Chu Xing's aura faded. She gave a last lingering gaze to the trapped Hong Xuannu before following as a ray of starlight. The two left the Neo Zenith Tower, and due to the spatial suppression, they pushed their physical speed to the maximum to depart.

Those outside only watched. They didn't stop them at all, especially since many were aware of the connection with Sovereign Shadowjoy and Su Yi. In fact, Sovereign Steelguard approached them and exchanged spiritual messages. The two shockingly leapt onto his Void Vessel, and they sped off!

Superior Di watched them depart without a word. Then, his ears twitched before he heaved a resigned sigh. With a snap of his fingers, his personal vessel followed along.

The last of the quintet was shockingly none other than Heaven-Saint Thunderhaven!

Once at opposite sides, they seemed to have allied for common interests.

Of the five of them, three were Superior Sages with their true bodies while one was a Superior Sage’s Avatar. The last one, Abhorrent Sky, his existence was rather curious given his severely weakened state and hastily created body. However, only a fool would think that he wasn't a vital member of this quintet in some capacity.

Wei Wuyin had discovered why with a single observing glance. This Resonant Soul Realm expert's Resonant Soul contained a talisman array enshrouded in that divine mist and disguised with numerous and extensive concealment spells. Before his Celestial Eyes, they were all revealed.

A bomb.

If he had to make a guess, a sliver of his Quintessential Thread of Existential Self was contained elsewhere, ready to be revived after his explosive sacrifice. A sinister trick.

At the lead of the quintet, the Peerless Shadow Pavilion Master, Superior Duan, also known as Sovereign Shredding Darkness, observed the illusory Mystic Runes of Wei Wuyin and a glint of confusion emerged in his gaze. Five billion Mystic Runes was extremely excessive. Moreover, that hymn of the Mystic Dao was something they could all hear.

Was this the prospective candidate of an Ascended Virtue?!

But...how?!

A possessed body should never have the qualifications to become a Virtue of Dao! Those who’ve gained the true acknowledgement of the Great Dao of Mysticism!! And a Resonant Soul Realm cultivator shouldn't either! A question hitched at his heart. Was this the Neo-Dawn Ascendant Emperor or had he lost the battle of possession, having his powers fully absorbed by this young talent? If so, they could change their tactics.

With narrowed eyes, standing by his fellow Supreme Sages, and about several billion miles away from Wei Wuyin, seemingly in safety, Superior Duan began to ask with a smile through spiritual transmission: "Are you the Neo-Dawn Ascendant Emperor or t—"

Suddenly, his pupils shrank.

"INCOMING!" Superior Yijun shouted. A dark grayish cloud enveloped his entire body, fading into the depths of space and time. His Soul Resonating Art was extremely profound, drifting away upon the sky of time and space to escape.

Superior Yushi urgently retreated. Her entire body transformed into a river of watery light, and she spiraled away, surfing the Dark Void with expert ease. She hadn't even sensed any threat. She merely reacted to the slightest words from Superior Yijun, allowing her reaction time to be exceedingly fast.

Superior Duan used two fingers to form a sword of shadow, reaching to grab Long Shiya while simultaneously slicing into the flow of time and dimensions of space. He leapt into it without hesitation.

Heaven-Saint Thunderhaven followed Superior Duan.

A large, white, draconic maw emerged from behind them. It chomped down with vicious intent. The tail-end of Superior Yushi's river was caught. She decisively sacrificed a portion of the river, inducing an explosive geyser of qi that jetted her further away. She absconded over thirty billion miles in a near-instant, barely escaping.

Wei Wuyin observed their Resonant Soul Arts as he lowered his finger thoughtfully.

"Do you think you can run?" Wei Wuyin's majestic voice seeped into time, space, and all of light. He gently took a breath, forming a single hand-seal.

"Forbiddance." Three billion Illusory Mystic Runes vanished from around him.

"Temporal." The flow of time became steady and stable within three trillion miles.

"Spatial." All dimensions of space within three trillion miles were stabilized and solidified.

"Radiant." Light itself became truly intangible for three trillion miles.

Wei Wuyin's eyes watched as the fallout of his seals unfolded. Sage Yushi's river was instantly halted, unable to surf upon space, time, or light. Her river exploded as if she smashed against tens of thousands of walls, sending it splashing across the Dark Void in chaos.

A violent roar resounded as fissures emerged in space. Leaking from these fissures were flimsy streams of cloudy qi. Superior Yijun exited, expelled directly. His body was exposed as shock and disbelief overwhelmed his eyes.

Superior Duan, Heaven-Saint Thunderhaven, and Long Shiya emerged from a sword scar etched into the Dark Void. They seemed relatively unharmed, but the shock in their eyes was present.

HOW?!

Wei Wuyin had sealed off their ability to execute Spatial, Temporal, and Radiant Arts leveraging external forces using the Mystic Power. While Resonant Qi was a different form of higher power, it was, at its foundation, Mystic Power! They still leveraged the power of the Mystic Dao!!

They exchanged looks from millions of miles away. They all could feel their attunement with their Spatial, Temporal, and Radiant powers was suppressed, if not outright forbidden from being accessed. They had already tried contesting with their Mystic World Intent but failed as they clashed with a wall. At best, they could only resist it a little.

"You can unleash a Mystic Prohibition?" Superior Duan was taken aback. This was the power that Domains of Mysticism could unleash on others, stripping the Ways of Mysticism from weaker cultivators, gaining an unrivaled position of dominance. This was the very foundation that was used to unleash the Prohibition of Heaven's Resonance with Resonant Qi of the Heavens! To think that could happen...to them!

They had long since become Overlords of the Ways of Mysticism!!

But what were mere Overlords to a potential candidate who could become a Virtue of the Mystic Dao?

Wei Wuyin sensed the power of his Mystic Prohibition. He had long since acquired a Domain of Mysticism from the Neo-Dawn World-Eclipsing Pill. In fact, he had acquired the Sempiternal Resonance Domain, far exceeding a Domain of Mysticism. The degree of control was unrivaled, and now that he had completed the Mystic Runes and Mystic Power, even if the former was illusory and lacking Awakened Intent, this was well within his authority.

Wei Wuyin only sensed for a brief moment. Then, his eyes erupted in clear mystical radiance. With a single step, space, time, and light within the dominion of mysticism and mortality assisted his movement as if attempting to please their emperor—BLAZING A PATH FORWARD!
