Chapter 1935 - 1927 The Supreme Hunt

Neo Zenith Tower. A heavenly woman, both literally and figuratively, stood upright, hands clasped, staring at the array of wondrous colors and spatial distortions. Her glistening eyes were a distinct silver, rippling with great emotional waves as her heart beating within her chest pounded without rest. No calm could be found in the Shard of Heaven's heart. Wei Xiaotian gulped heavily. Her memories surged without warning, floating to the forefront of her mind. A conversation she had with Su Mei placed her thoughts into a proper perspective. "Are you scared?" She asked. "Always," Su Mei replied. When she was confused by the meaning of being in constant fear, the response shook her to the core. Su Mei had recalled a story of betrayal, courage, and truth that had been deeply imprinted on her mind. She could still remember what Su Mei repeated that day, he words of Wei Wuyin on that day of instigatory questioning by a traitorous subordinate. "Fear? I am always afraid. I fear the heavens. I also fear the earth. I fear the judgment of he people. I fear the sharpness of my enemy's blade. I fear the dissatisfaction of my superiors. I fear the hatred of those I've slain. I fear nature at its kindest and I fear nature at its most wicked periods. I fear...everything I see, hear, taste, touch, and feel. But by knowing this fear, I can see it with my heart. And so, I can face it with everything I am. "I can allow it to pass through me, and when each of these things has gone past me, I ind myself understanding that fear is the festering death that kills the mind, infects the soul, and corrodes the potential to be strong. And when the fear is there yet unable to affect me, I will be able to purify my wil to push forward without doubt.” Only when these words echoed in her mind did she calm down her fears, allowing it to wash over her as she felt concern for the life of the man that saved her life, allowed her, who was born innately flawed, to flourish healthy without any insidious intentions that often blackened the hearts of others in this great, big world of life, fortune, and sin. “I'm waiting for you..." Her whispers lingered in the air, quietly yet everlasting. Fear. Wei Wuyin was afraid. But when hasn't he? Since the day he lost everything, not a single moment has gone by when fear hasn't been looming. And going against Supreme Sages as a Mystic Ascendant was terrifying on an otherworldly scale. He was facing existences on a higher level of existential basis than himself. Yet, when he was just a mere mortal treading his own path one step at a time, nothing could stop him or his family from continuing. Not even the threat of death. Today was different, however. Cao Cuifen. Pakhet. Xi Ning. Luo Ning. Imentet. His name. His legacy. Within that invasive fear that was always losing out to his unrivaled will to push forward, survive, and thrive, was an overbearing surge of rage. PURE! UNFILTERED! UNBRIDLED! RAGE!!! Within the fiery field that was roaring with a blazing screech as it burned energies, essence, and even space itself, surpassing the vast vacuum of space and echoing across billions upon billions of miles, six supreme auras persisted—Superior Black Widow, Superior Yanzi, Superior Di, Palace Master Shattered Star, Palace Master Talisman Star, and Sovereign Goliath Bird. They were processing all sorts of emotions, most notably and prominently, two distinctly shared emotions: disbelief and agony. The pellets’ explosion was as sudden and unexpected as Long Shiya's detonation, with almost zero warning aside from Wei Wuyin opening his eyes, causing them to scatter in every direction. This region of blazing fire burned for billions of miles in the Dark Void as a hunt loomed on the horizon, prepared after a successful fishing expedition to bait the plumpest fishes around. Wei Wuyin's Mystical Radiance Sphere emerged from his body. And then, without the slightest pause, erupted into ten billion illusory Mystic Runes that emulated the loyalists of soldiers. They were unaffected by the burning flames, moving about like a school of ish in water, as immune as he was to the heat. "Spatial. Temporal. Radiant. Spirit." Eight billion illusory Mystic Runes melded seamlessly into the Dark Void, establishing a Mystic Prohibition for three trillion miles, layering upon the chaos that still existed within he dimensions of space, flows of time, and the Void without difficulty, defying any constraints as if guided by the Mystic Dao. Four of the profound Ways of Mysticism were outright prohibited by Wei Wuyin's unique mystic authority on par with the Laws. Among them, Spirit was a new application of oppressive restriction. Spiritual Sense, fueled by mystic-level Spiritual Energ,y began to grow hazy and undefined, suffering a sort of static interference that made distinguishing characteristics normally transmitted to the five senses abnormally difficult. Effectively blinding Ocular Spells, Scrying Spiritual Arts, and targeting of spells in general. "Mystic Prohibition?!" This was the first time that the Supreme Sages present felt the effects firsthand. From afar, they had only sensed a faint restrictive force. They hadn't elt the intensity or the slightest fear from it. Now that they were directly immersed under its prohibitive powers, they were stunned outright as their respective Mystic World Intent ailed to overcome this authority. Moreover, "Four?!" Superior Yanzi understood that establishing a Mystic Prohibition required the highest degree of focus of a Mystic Soul, and upon doing so, only a single Way of Mysticism could be effectively bound. But there...WAS FOUR?! He was not the only Supreme Sage reeling in shock from this discovery, especially as his Spiritual Sense, which was already having difficulty navigating the fiery field, was unable to gather a clear image. He had to rely on Soul Perception. They all did. However, Soul Perception and Spiritual Sense were two very difficult forms of sensory perception, one originated from their True Soul and Sea of Consciousness while the other was the transmitted perception of heir Resonant Soul, and as such, some things were missed by their Resonant Soul. They were like dolphins in oil. Entirely blinded by the fiery field, relying on their alternative form of sense to the best of their ability. Adjusting was difficult. This adjustment period was a vulnerable moment. They all unanimously retrieved their own form of defensive protection, swatting the fires away and establishing regions of emptiness. Wei Wuyin's body emulated the aura of Elemental Origin Intent, melding flawlessly with he surrounding flames, becoming one. Like an expert hunter in a ghillie suit, he merged into the very environment that he created. No longer able to clearly sense via Spiritual Spells or Spatial, Temporal, or Radiant Location that relied on fluctuations, methods they had in spades as true experts, they were robbed of their most reliable assets. Moreover, they could no longer locate Wei Wuyin. "Gather in a single spatial region!" Superior Black Widow ordered as they coordinated via the Mind-Realm. She was slightly injured, and while confident of fighting against Wei Wuyin by herself, this abrupt blindness left her feeling extreme discomfort. Not even her Webs of Worldly Resonance Art, a true Resonating Soul Art, could be used, an exquisitely sinister alternative sensory art that also restricted the target's access to the Heavenly Realms as the fiery field burned any threads she tried to spin. The Supreme Sages were decisive. They smartly coordinated themselves, relying on heir Soul Perceptions, and gathered within a single location after seven full seconds. Superior Black Widow, Superior Yanzi, Superior Di, Palace Master Shattered Star, and Palace Master Talisman Star felt some relief sweep across their hearts, observing the various injuries the others had. Nothing was too serious. However, Superior Black Widow's brows furrowed. "Where's Sovereign Goliath Bird?" Her question caused the other four to inspect the surroundings. She hastily sent a message through the Mind-Realm. WHERE ARE YOU?! Six seconds earlier. "What a powerful multi-prohibition!* Sovereign Goliath Bird was shaken by the Mystic Prohibition. Her Mystic World Intent that she thought was invincible was heavily affected as if a mountain was pressing against its back, preventing it from taking a single step forward. When she received the order from the Mind-Realm, she was trying to gather her bearings and locate the designated region. Suddenly, a ghastly fiery figure appeared a few hundred miles from her, only revealed by he faint humanoid outline and silvery luster of the eyes, looming like a specter from the ery depths of Hell. She seemed ignorant of its arrival, shrouded by a translucent, silky web cocoon that protected her from the heat and further minor injury. A peak Mystic- World defensive treasure. As she toiled about to gather her bearings and locate the gathering location, she moved cautiously. However, as she moved a few dozen miles, her slender body suddenly spun as she swung a white sword with a silk-like steel blade and a black, pronged hilt! Strings of sword gi sliced into the void, accurately aiming for the fiery figure. The power was phenomenal, enough to sever time, space, and celestial objects with each, and it was fueled by the power of the heavens. The flames within a hundred thousand-mile radius were swept away, parted like a divine intervention. The fiery figure was sliced into, obliterated in its entirety. Sovereign Goliath Bird frowned slightly, not feeling joy in the slightest as her Soul Perception was pushed to its limits. The fiery field immediately collapsed in on itseff, filling the created vacuum. Whoosh! Without warning, a trillion different fiery figures all emerged in the fiery field, surrounding her, clustered to the point that the closest was a few dozen miles from her. Her eyes widened. In her eyes, she sensed soul energy from each. Unable to distinguish he real. She was unafraid. She calmly took it one step at a time, focusing on protection, reinforcing her cocoon with precious resonant gi until she was completely sealed, and hen ignoring the illusory entities before her as she tried to guide herself to the gathering point. If she gathered with the others, all difficulties present became trivial. Unfortunately for her, Wei Wuyin was not so easily ignored. DRACONIC ASCENSION!!! Sovereign Goliath Bird was just about to soar at top speed when her pupils abruptly shook. She spun in an instant, sensing a growing fist covered in scales darting violently at her face. She couldn't dodge in time! The fist slammed into her cheeks, imposing its imprint on her skin, and she blasted backward, continuing her spinning momentum, slamming viciously into her cocoon that was affixed. Her partially burnt physical body made a disgustingly sloppy sound of flesh impacting solid material. Her head was bent at an odd angle, enough to kill any mortal. But her vitality was thriving and her persistence. Wei Wuyin's dragon eyes unleashed murderous light. He didn't stop there. With a step, his body was like a ghost, dodging a close-range swipe of string-like sword qi that sliced into the cocoon's vulnerable spot—internally, ruining it in an instant. Sovereign Goliath Bird was decisive. However, as Wei Wuyin dodged by weaving out of the cocoon, as the Supreme Sage rom the Arachnids would search for him, her pupils would shrink a size smaller than before. Wei Wuyin's trillions of fiery images all exuded the same aura, so despite damaging her cocoon, she was unable to locate the correct one. If she could rely on Spiritual Sense and Soul Perception in tandem, her Spiritual Ocular Spell experiencing no interference, locating the real Wei Wuyin would be literal child's play. Instead, her deliberately conceived blindness was allowing her to be a hapless child surrounded by illusions. Just as she decided on a course of action, she swung her sword to her right, unleashing a web of sword gi that engulfed a region of a hundred thousand miles, capturing countless fiery figures. Weary, she resorted to a close-quarters, exoskeletal resonant gi ward fashioned like silk armor that exuded a golden metallic gleam. She was resonating with the Heavenly Realm of Metal, showcasing the power of resonant gi! "I'm here," a ghostly voice echoed in her ear as if it were from the past and future. When she turned, another fist barreled towards her, smashing viciously into her ward! The force sent her reeling! Her body jetted back explosively as fragments of her golden silk armor were scattered and destroyed. “What monstrous physical strength!” She couldn't help but think as she hurriedly stabilized her momentum. She had lost her position. She didn't know where they were relative to herself any longer. But if she had to guess, she was farther than before by deliberate design. She could only wait in place. The attacks were raw in power, but they weren't very harmful to her. As such, she decided to anchor herself to her location and try to transmit her location to the others. When they gather, they'll find her as a unit with greater ease. Then, within her heart, an unsettling feeling emerged in her chest. It was invasive. It was persistent. It was the sensation of extreme crisis. Her Resonant Soul warned. She had hunkered down, and now, her will to stand passively had swayed. Unfortunately, she could no longer make another decision. SHINING! Within her senses, a saber how! resounded. Simultaneously, a burst of veiled Void Power surged upon her body, erupting as if it were a concealed poison, forcefully sending her just a person's distance away, almost insignificant to Supreme Sages, yet this single shift of abruptness had...completely segregated her from her gi ward. Her Soul Perception sensed a wave of annihilation, sharpness, and the authority of the absolute end. As her eyes widened, all things turned eternally— Tʜe source of this ᴄontent ɪs novel·fiɾe·net

to black. Six seconds, and seven microseconds later. "Why is she taking so long?" Superior Di questioned after hearing the communication hrough the Mind-Realm. While it was only a few microseconds, this was enough for Supreme Sages to hold what could constitute a full conversation. As they felt frustrated by these circumstances established by Wei Wuyin, a majestically imposing voice echoed out as a tiny object barreled through the fiery field, lacking any aggressive power. The object caused the five Supreme Sages to pause, but they didn't immediately attack as they used their Soul Perception to observe while fully on guard, ready to react. But when the object rolled into their perception, the fiery field scattering slightly, their hearts all felt a terrifying sensation of dread as it entered their region absent of any fire. Superior Black Widow's eyes flared with murderous intention as she waved her hand to grab the object. She gently touched the slackened cheeks and outstretched tongue. Her eyes looked into the fear-filled, soulless gaze of her organization member. As Superior Black Widow clutched the severed head of Sovereign Goliath Bird, the voice nally registered in her ears. "Superior Black Widow, Superior Yanzi, Superior Di, Palace Master Shattered Star, Palace Master Talisman Star, and Sovereign Goliath Bird. "Five left." Erdiul's Note: Damn. He ain't playin.
