Chapter 536: The plan ahead
Chapter 536: The plan ahead
After hearing everything from Lilith—the betrayals, the orchestrated uprising in the devil domain, the truth about Aamon and his schemes—I couldn’t hold myself back anymore.
I wanted to burst straight into the devil’s domain and beat Aamon to death with my bare hands.
That bastard didn’t just ruin Lilith’s life. He brought chaos to both devils and humans. He was the mastermind behind the failed assassination of the saintess. I should’ve known he was too sharp for a simple underling.
From that alone, I understood one thing: Aamon wasn’t just a brute. He was a cunning strategist. And if I walked in there blind with rage, it would only end one way—my death and the cunning strategist was the worst type of enemy they would hide behind the scenes pulling strings.
If I was going to help Lilith... I had to do it smart. And I had to do it alone or else everyone was going to be in danger helping a devil especially hiding her in human domain.
Eleanore had her hands full running Omega Outpost. She wasn’t just a patrol leader anymore—she was a symbol of order, balancing diplomacy, patrol missions, and now, keeping the peace in one of the most volatile borders in the human domain. Dragging her into a personal war wouldn’t just be wrong—it’d be selfish.
The plan was simple, at least on paper.
Devils had always been vulnerable to anything blessed by the gods. Whether it was a spell, an artifact, or even a weapon laced with divine energy, the pain it inflicted was tenfold compared to regular damage. That was the edge I needed.
Luckily, I had already foreseen this. Back before I entered the Tower of Obelisk, during the early development of my skill—Parallel Memory—I had seen it all written in the novel. One path led to a war. A brutal one between humans and devils. That alone had pushed me to make preparations ahead of time.
I had contacted Tech Genesis, my company, and ordered the Investigation Department to quietly collect any items blessed by the gods—legally or otherwise. Whether it was a noble auction, black market, or shady middleman didn’t matter. If it was a divine blessing and of high rarity, we bought it.
All I needed now was to get in touch with Aidan.
I pulled out the phone, dialed the secured frequency, and waited for it to connect. It didn’t even ring twice.
"Boss?" came a familiar voice. Crisp, professional, but unmistakably Aidan.
I smiled slightly. "It’s me. Are you busy?"
"For you? Never. I was just negotiating a weapons shipment with the Authority’s procurement division." He paused. "What’s the emergency?"
"I need a package delivered to Omega Outpost."
"Understood. Authorization code?"
"******."
.(Don’t expect me to reveal the code its a secret, I have seen it and experienced scams in my memory of Earth a very common way in most part of the Earth and voice phishing just one word of the secret code and you may inherit the billion Ethans worth of company Tech Genesis I worked hard for this empire—I’m not losing it to some guy pretending to be a prince from Nigeria)
There was a beat of silence.
"Confirmed. It’s really you," Aidan replied, voice relaxing a little. "You know, that’s still the weirdest codeword I’ve ever had to memorize."
Aidan chuckled. "I’ll start prepping the divine artifacts. They’re stored in Sector E-9. A few swords, relics, some protective gear and a whole lot of potions. You’ll have to pick what you need when it arrives. Should be there in under twenty-four hours."
"Good. Send someone you trust."
"I’ll handle it personally," Aidan replied firmly. "Also... it’s good to hear your voice again, boss. You’ve been gone for too long."
I leaned back against the wall of the ruined dormitory. "Yeah... Tower of Obelisk felt like another life."
"It was," Aidan said. "While you were away, the world changed. Drastically."
"Exactly. Ten years ago, a S-Ranker was treated like a treasure and ranked above it like royalty. Now? There are guilds with ten, twenty, even more.."
"Alright. Just know we’re behind you. Always have been."
The call ended with a faint beep, and I placed the device back into my coat pocket.
Recently, with the discovery of a level-up potion to rank S, many people who had the resources but were stuck at Rank A+ peak had broken through to rank S; therefore, the strength of the human Domain and the Authority grew exponentially, and the humans were not the type to wait around.
They struck immediately after the capture of the Delta outpost and easily won with the support of the church. With the complete annihilation of the dark guilds a few months ago, of course, with my big contribution to the authority, the devils had lost almost all the devil contractors and their spies.
As I looked around the outpost, I noticed that nearly every advanced system—the generators, defensive turrets, mana calibrators—were Tech Genesis designs. And not prototypes, either. Fully rolled-out models. Aidan had truly outdone himself.
Hard to believe that a few years ago, he was just a salaryman. Pushing paper, designing blueprints that no one appreciated. But now? Now he was standing at the helm of a company whose revenue rivaled Diamond-grade guilds. With a reach so vast, even noble houses were trying to sign tech supply contracts.
He never asked for credit.
When the press surrounded him, demanding to know who really owned Tech Genesis, he always smiled and said, "It’s a private matter." No leaks. No hints. Just loyalty.
That was the kind of person Aidan was.
And thanks to him, people who had no talent for combat were finding purpose again. Not everyone was born with mana affinity or combat instincts. Some were just... brilliant. Inventors, thinkers, designers. Aidan gave them a place to belong. To matter.
Tech Genesis became more than just a company. It was a revolution. A quiet one, yes—but no less impactful.
I leaned against the window of the ruined dormitory and sighed. Outside, the soldiers and staff at Omega Outpost moved like clockwork. Patrols rotated. Supplies were unloaded. Repairs were underway. All of it happening atop the wreckage of a once-forgotten border zone.
I was grateful for the brief calm.
Lilith was resting in the next room. Eleanore was preparing new defenses in case of retaliation. And me? I was about to gear up for a fight I couldn’t afford to lose.
