Chapter 2526: Chapter 2523: Leaving the City
Chu Heng just smiled without speaking.
The three of them got onto the carriage.
And headed straight out of the city.
The platform outside the city had already been set up.
There were all sorts of tents nearby, and people were coming and going, making it very lively, with carriages parked everywhere.
Ye Muyu waited until the carriage came to a stop, then was the first to get out.
Chu Heng was behind, holding Nuanbao.
The three of them brought a few guards and two maidservants.
“Is this the County City outside the capital? Is it that far?” Ye Muyu was a little surprised.
“It’s already under the jurisdiction of the county, but these streets have all been renovated from old streets. These tents, the shops on either side, are all newly opened.”
“Shall we go directly to the racetrack or stroll around first?”
“Let’s go to the racetrack first.” Ye Muyu and Nuanbao said in unison.
“Alright, then to the racetrack we go.”
Chu Heng gave a greeting, and Lu Chuan promptly brought over a horse.
“How are we going to ride on one horse?” Ye Muyu was puzzled.
Chu Heng had already mounted the horse, with Nuanbao instinctively holding onto his neck, sitting steadily.
“Come on, Ah Yu, get up here.” Chu Heng smiled, extending a hand down to her.
Ye Muyu felt her cheeks heat up, “Are we going to ride together?”
“Could it be that Ah Yu doesn’t want to?” Chu Heng countered.
The initially embarrassed Ye Muyu immediately put her hand in his, saying in a muffled voice, “Hmph, hurry up.”
“Certainly.” Chu Heng chuckled lowly, “Happy to serve my lady.”
Saying this, Ye Muyu mounted the horse and sat in his embrace.
Nuanbao had already focused all his attention on the surroundings, accustomed to his parents’ sticky display of affection.
The three of them shared a horse and soon arrived at the racetrack.
There were many guards stationed outside the racetrack.
Seeing Chu Heng’s horse approaching, a guard holding a spear immediately walked over.
“This gentleman and lady, please show your tickets, and we ask for your understanding.”
Ye Muyu handed over more than a dozen tickets.
Because not only theirs but also for Lu Chuan and the several guards and maidservants.
The guard checked the tickets, nodded, and said, “Please go ahead, inside you will receive this wooden tag as a credential, just hang it on your waist.”
Ye Muyu took the wooden tag and saw that it had a jade pendant design which looked quite nice. Upon closer inspection, the craftsmanship wasn’t bad; there was a fine horse surrounded by mountains, somewhat like a medal.
And underneath hung a red tassel, making it easy to distinguish authenticity, and it wasn’t unattractive.
“These wooden tags… who made them?” Ye Muyu asked.
“The shop of my second brother,” Chu Heng replied as he leisurely guided the horse into the field.
Ye Muyu softly said, “That child truly has a knack for business. Just talking about charging the servants for tickets, one ticket isn’t cheap. Anyone with a bit of status comes in groups; just the ticket fees add up, right?”
“And speaking of these wooden tags, I bet after leaving, people will surely ask if they can buy them as souvenirs.”
“Haha, not bad.” Chu Heng chuckled lightly.
Ye Muyu couldn’t help but laugh too, “Is this really a child I bore? It’s simply amazing.”
“Yes, mother gave birth to him,” Nuanbao suddenly spoke, “Mother, do you like silver?”
“I do like it, why do you ask?” Ye Muyu answered casually.
Nuanbao shook his head, “Nothing, Nuanbao was just asking, I’ll remember it.”
“Little Nuanbao, when you go back, ask your brother for more pocket money, look at him this time, he earned quite a bit.” Ye Muyu patted his head, happy to foster the bond between the brothers.
Nuanbao shook his head, “Mom, brother gave me a lot, I can’t spend it all. If you want it, I’ll give it to you.”
