Chapter 2528: Chapter 2525: Supporting Lil’ Jin
A few people rode their horses leisurely together to the archery game area.
Chu Heng continued to hold Ye Muyu’s reins, and the two horses walked steadily side by side.
The archery game here was different from the usual; it was played on horseback.
The area was quite expansive.
At the moment, many young boys and girls were galloping inside on their horses.
From time to time, cheers could be heard from the audience.
The game area was surrounded by people.
However, on both sides, there were tiered viewing stands. If anyone wished to watch for an extended period, they would be led up there.
On the sides, there was empty space where riders could watch from horseback. Quite a few were lingering here, and Chu Heng and his companions were dressed casually.
Even if recognized, people wouldn’t shout out but would quietly approach Chu Heng for a greeting.
Ye Muyu noticed that many people around Chu Heng wanted to talk to him. She looked at the archery game, feeling tempted, but, knowing her mediocre horseback skills, felt a bit discouraged.
“Madam, do you want to go in and compete?” Lady Su asked in a lowered voice, seeing Ye Muyu frequently looking toward the game area.
Ye Muyu didn’t expect her discreet actions to be noticed by others. Though she appeared approachable, she was actually quite sensitive about others guessing her thoughts.
Hearing this, she smiled and said, “Hmm, these kids are so lively. But my health isn’t up to it, so watching them play is good enough for me.”
“I was going to say, if Madam wanted to compete, I could join in to avoid being told by my husband that engaging in such activities is beneath us.” Lady Su pretended to complain, trying to dissolve the awkwardness with words.
Ye Muyu neither agreed nor disagreed, recognizing that Lady Su attempted to flatter her while maintaining her composure.
Most noble ladies in the capital probably wouldn’t engage in such activities.
They are concerned about face.
Ye Muyu wouldn’t want to stand out either, allowing others to mock her behind her back.
So, she jokingly said, “I wonder if the steward of this venue would accept suggestions to create a spot for us, ladies, to play archery and kickball.”
“Ah Yu, do you want to play too?” Chu Heng suddenly asked.
Ye Muyu turned her head to see that the officials nearby were all looking at the two of them because of Chu Heng’s sudden question.
Feeling slightly embarrassed, she gave Chu Heng a meaningful look.
“Ah Heng, aren’t you busy? I’m just saying casually; why take it so seriously?”
Chu Heng helplessly replied, “Didn’t I hear that you have a request, and I just happened to know something about it, so I responded.”
Ye Muyu’s curiosity was piqued by his words: “What is it?”
“Before we came here, there was a wooden sign at the entrance saying suggestions are welcome.”
“Really? Lady Su, shall we go take a look?” Ye Muyu wasn’t truly tempted by the archery game but realized the implied meaning behind Chu Heng’s words.
This venue was funded by Chu Jin, likely most of it.
The suggestion sign clearly indicates that as long as you have silver, any need can be met.
As such a good tool for garnering wealth, Ye Muyu, as a mother, certainly wants to support her son’s endeavors.
Lady Su was a bit surprised by Ye Muyu’s sudden change in attitude, but before she could think it over, she received a signal from her husband.
Lady Su quickly smiled and said, “No problem, I am indeed very interested.”
“Ah Heng, I’ll go over there now and will be back shortly.” Ye Muyu planned not to have Chu Heng accompany her.
She mainly wanted Chu Heng to resolve the discussions with those officials sooner.
Then later, she could go for a ride alone.
