Chapter 489: Back To The Future
Chapter 489: Back To The Future
At first, it was just fast — faster than any human could dream. Then the domain expanded with my will, the bubble of accelerated time growing around me until it felt like the entire world was trapped in amber while I sprinted through liquid lightning.
The scenery blurred into streaks of color. Trees, ground, sky — everything smeared into horizontal lines of light. The air screamed past my ears, but inside my domain, it was eerily silent, protected.
Faster.
The blur deepened. Reality began to fold. The streaks of light twisted into a glowing tunnel of pure energy — golden, blue, and violet strands of time-space weaving around me like the walls of a cosmic highway. I could feel the fabric of the universe stretching, thinning, and tearing at the edges.
Countless portals flickered into existence along the tunnel walls: circular windows into other moments, other places.
Some showed ancient battles, some showed futures where I ruled empires of women, some showed alternate versions of my own fucks. Each portal pulsed in sync with my heartbeat.
I focused my mind like a laser. I pictured the exact second, the exact room, the exact moment Peter had killed me — the smell of gunpowder, Helena’s scream, the hot blood spraying across her tits.
A portal ripped open directly in front of me, larger and more stable than the others, its edges crackling with temporal lightning. Through it, I saw the scene playing out in extreme slow motion: my past self on his knees, Peter’s gun raised, Helena’s face frozen in horror mid-cry.
I stepped through without breaking stride.
The transition hit like diving into ice water. The tunnel collapsed behind me, and I emerged into the past. The domain of God Speed expanded violently on arrival, slowing the entire room to near-zero speed.
My past body was collapsing in glacial slow motion, blood blooming from the bullet wound like a crimson flower opening frame by frame. Peter’s finger was still squeezing the trigger, the muzzle flash a frozen orange blossom. Helena’s tears hung in the air like diamonds.
Peter and Helena couldn’t see me. I was moving so far beyond their perception that I existed in a different layer of time.
For a heartbeat, I considered saving myself — reaching out, stopping the bullet with my bare hand, crushing Peter’s skull before he could blink. But a cold wave of existential terror crashed over me.
If I saved that version of me, would this version — the one with the system, the harem, the god-like powers — simply cease to exist? Would the timeline collapse and erase everything I’d built? The paradox risk was too high. I wasn’t ready to gamble my current godhood on a rescue mission.
Instead, I used the domain differently. I pushed the acceleration even higher, moving so fast that my body became a living smear of motion — too quick for light itself to catch and reflect properly.
I was effectively invisible, a ghost in hyper-speed. I circled the room, studying every detail while the world outside my influence crept forward one agonizing second at a time.
Only when I was satisfied did I consciously shrink the domain, letting the bubble of accelerated time collapse back to normal. Reality snapped forward like a rubber band.
Peter’s voice exploded into normal speed: "Motherfucker... trying to cuckold me."
He turned to Helena, who was still sobbing. "Keep your fucking mouth shut about this. If Dexter’s father ever finds out, we’re both dead. You live only if I live. Got it?"
Helena nodded frantically, tears streaming down her face.
They dragged my corpse to my own car — the sleek black one I’d driven here for that fatal rendezvous — and shoved it into the trunk. Helena dropped to her knees and began scrubbing my blood off the floor with frantic, terrified strokes while Peter barked orders like a general:
"Wipe every inch. Burn the sheets. I already deleted the CCTV. We’ll drive this car off a cliff with his body inside and call it a drunk accident. No traces. No DNA. Understand?"
I followed them invisibly, still riding the edge of God Speed, sitting phantom-like in the backseat as they sped out of the city toward the cliffside route.
The wind howled outside, but inside my domain, it was calm. Peter drove with cold precision; Helena stared straight ahead, hands shaking in her lap.
At the secluded overlook, they hauled my body into the driver’s seat, doused it with a bottle of cheap whiskey, and shoved the car over the edge. I accelerated again, leaping out of the falling vehicle in a streak of motion.
The car tumbled, smashed into the rocks below, and erupted in a fireball.
My corpse slipped out of the open door mid-fall... and dissolved into shimmering particles of golden light the instant it should have hit the ground. No impact. No remains. Just... gone. As if the universe itself had reclaimed it.
I hovered there in the flames for a long moment, domain fully active, watching the particles fade. Nothing unusual. No hidden clues. Just clean erasure.
I whispered toward the empty space where my old body had vanished, voice low and sincere: "Thank you... for giving me this second chance. For letting me become this."
The mystery was still too big for me to solve tonight. I wasn’t strong enough yet.
Shaking off the weight, I let thoughts of my real family flood in — especially my mother. The woman I hadn’t seen since the day I died in this timeline.
I activated God Speed again, the domain exploding outward until the entire city blurred into a tunnel of light. I ran.
The world folded around me once more — portals flickering, time-space bending — but this time I focused on home.
The familiar route, the grand villa on the hill. Distance and time meant nothing. In what felt like three heartbeats, I was standing at the front gates, the domain shrinking as I slowed to a normal walk.
The villa looked exactly as I remembered it — elegant, imposing, timeless. Memories crashed over me like a tidal wave: childhood laughter, my father’s stern voice, my mother’s warm hugs after every victory and defeat.
