Poison God's Heritage

Chapter 923: Practice Makes Perfect

Chapter 923: Practice Makes Perfect

I noticed one thing immediately after waking up.

The body felt different. Lighter in some ways. Cruder in others. Compared to my main body, Shen Mo felt underdeveloped now, lacking refinement despite the raw physical strength buried inside it.

Especially its abundant Demonic Qi.

Looking at the pitiful cultivation stage of this body, "I neglected you too much," I sighed.

The difference between my main cultivation and this body had grown embarrassing. Once it served as a useful hidden card. Now it felt left behind while the rest of me sprinted ahead.

I then walked out of what looked like a room that belonged to a maniac who’s too absorbed in weapons and slaughter.

There were just an absurd amount of treasure swords and glaives here, and enough armors to gear an entire army.

Weapons lined the walls in organized rows, each carrying traces of use and murderous intent. Spears taller than men. Curved sabers etched with killing formations. Towering armor pieces designed for monstrous physiques. The entire place radiated martial obsession.

Cracking my neck, feeling a bit stiff from how long this body was resting, I walked out of the room to find myself in what felt like a training hall.

The hall itself was enormous, reinforced heavily enough to survive impacts that would flatten mountains. Deep scars covered the floor and walls from repeated combat. The air smelled of metal, sweat, and lingering killing intent.

A man was standing there with heavy exhales.

"Oh, Shen, you wake."

"Red Sun... what’s going on?" I asked, genuinely confused by the sight of him alone in this place.

"Training. Want to join me?"

"With this body? I’ll die in one exchange."

That wasn’t humility. Red Sun after reaching Yin Stage could probably sneez hard enough to cripple this avatar.

"Don’t worry about it, I’ll keep it moderate... what is your main body doing?"

"Taking a trip through the galaxy, trying to figure out this dying planet thing..."

"I suppose Dusking is with you."

"Yes,"

"Good," he said as he flipped his spear and planted it on the ground, "I’ve seen you use this... style of fighting..."

The way he said style carried unusual focus. Not casual curiosity. Analysis.

"Which one I’m a poison cultivator."

"Stop the bullshit, your body is built like that of a god. Those muscles, even this avatar has a lot of power behind them."

I glanced down at Shen Mo’s arms unconsciously. Dense muscle. Reinforced bone. Every movement carried abnormal physical strength even without Qi enhancement.

Though Shen Bao was mightier... If you compare the two at the same stage... Shen Mo held the advantage in raw strength. After all, the base of my original body is that of an old man. This was still young, still strong and full of potential.

"The golden Titan..."

"That’s a fitting name, but unfortunately..." he stalled.

"Outdated..." I replied.

I already knew it. Compared to everything I had seen recently, the Golden Titan Art increasingly felt incomplete. Powerful, yes. But lacking direction.

"More like, not fully explored. I’m in fact jealous, whoever created this style... He was a master of body arts, my own Slaughter Art doesn’t even come close to the true potential yours has."

That made me pause.

Red Sun wasn’t someone who praised lightly. Especially not another fighting style over his own. He was a master of slaughter, but to praise another art is basically saying that it could do ’Slaughter’ better than him. Someone of his pride would never dare to utter. But he did.

And that meant something.

"I think you’re exaggerating a bit... it isn’t that powerful, sure its useful..." I stopped, since I remembered something.

The Enforcer.

He also used Fist of Roaring Ki.

The memory slammed into place instantly. His movements. His posture. The terrifying density behind every strike. It was the same art... and yet incomparably heavier. More complete. Like watching a crude imitation beside the original truth.

It was much heavier, much more powerful, but not even once did I feel he used more Qi, or a higher form...

The mere fight with that entity was enough to broaden one’s perspective. Almost makes me anticipate the next time I would climb cultivation...

Almost is the special word here, because that guy would probably flatten me ten times over and call me lacking.

"You realized it too."

The Red Sun’s eyes narrowed knowingly.

"Sure, we can spar. But..."

"I know, you feel like that body is losing out when it comes to cultivation, but you’re going about it the wrong way," the red sun said.

"How come?"

"You think that you can only gain ascendance if you accumulate enough Qi. Understanding is also a way to ascend in cultivation, you’ve seen it yourself, it happened, several times too."

His words immediately dragged my thoughts back toward the Suns’ breakthroughs.

"The Suns turning to Yin and Yang stages."

"Yes, it wasn’t because we were lacking energy. We plateau at a certain point. So we developed more fighting methods, stronger ones, we grew even though it wasn’t via Qi. And once we arrived to this place that didn’t have a ceiling like the Beyond did. We were fully unleashed. Our Qi never increased, but it was our understanding that allowed us to ascend."

The explanation settled heavily into my thoughts.

Understanding.

Not quantity.

That actually explained far too much.

It explained the enforcer.

The Golden Titan Art.

Even my own sudden Heaven Stage breakthrough.

"So, just by getting beaten up I can climb?" I asked dryly.

A dangerous grin spread across the Red Sun’s face.

"No, it’s by not getting beaten up when you climb," he said and charged forward.

The floor exploded beneath his feet the instant he moved.

Not metaphorically.

Actually exploded.

The reinforced training hall cracked outward in a spiderweb pattern while Red Sun became a blur of violent momentum. His spear remained planted behind him. He didn’t even bother using it.

Apparently, I was about to receive martial enlightenment directly through blunt force trauma.

Fucking fantastic.
